It is mostly not something intentional, but a reflection of all their exposures, experiences in real life. For example photographers, will tend to create similar to people they followed or assisted or the way they look at things around them
Apart from the above, they also need to develop some specific trade specialised traits. For example a Fashion Photographer must have an eye for perfect light, perfect clothes, perfect make-up. A Portrait Photographer must have an eye for drama, a deep interest in people to bring it out in the Photographs. Street Photographers must be keen observers of body language, coincidences, opportunities.
My style is very close to street photography, only difference being I apply the same theory indoors, where i shoot more often than not. While I am deeply interested fashion and in people, these are things that come to me naturally. But at every single shoot, I want to create free flowing stories. I absolutely love it, when my muses come to me with a clean slate and not learnt poses. Also the direction to them is almost absent or minimal. I want them to be very random, not chaotic but with some sense of flow to the story.
My shoots last for anything between 2 hrs to 24 hrs on a given day and depending upon my muses energy and time availability of-course. And I would normally shoot anything between 600 to 2000 images, and i rarely delete much from the shoots. I prefer to have motion stills.
