Wojtek, very good quote. Emma is indeed curious, but, she broke boundaries. She's done it before too. Remember Emma told Gabby that she read the diary or notes of the gym teacher Cory. Emma has a blatant disregard of personal and professional space. Patricia herself said Emma was reckless. However, in this dungeon, Emma was literally trespassing into areas where she should have not been.
I think Catherine needs to at least scold Emma. Catherine did tell Emma that if she did not want to stress out her mother then she shouldn't do anything to stress her. That's a start. However, Catherine said she wouldn't say anything to Patricia. Kimberly is not under any obligation of the kind, at this point. She can easily call Patricia and tell her what happened. Hmmm... Interesting scenarios about what could happen if Kimberly calls Patricia. Maybe Patricia will call in her 'buddies', her subs, and threaten legal action against Kimberly. Maybe Patricia will chastise Emma when Emma and Gabby return home. However, IMO, Catherine will just throw her weight around and order Kimberly, and anyone else involved in this dungeon, to keep quiet. This is the bias I was referring to before. Catherine is on Patricia's side.

Yes, "history is written by the winners" Larry, but it is also said that "curiosity killed the cat", I mean if Emma doesn't want to stress Patricia, why was she going down the open trapdoor? Her curiosity led to her and Gabby meeting Kimberly and the twins, we know the rest of the story, she was manipulated into thinking that if it hadn't been for Catherine's arrival, Kimberly wouldn't have let her go so easily, I'm afraid! Gabby would constantly have to put up with Anna's taunts.

Yeah, this is odd. Emma is lying. Why? Possibly 2 reasons:
1, Emma knows of something of the issue between her mother and Kimberly, but just found out now according to her. Um, when did Emma find out??? However, I believe Patricia told Emma about Kimberly, but any information given to Emma by Patricia would be slanted and biased towards her. Remember the old adage: "History is written by the winners". Emma only heard one side of the story. Maybe Catherine will tell more about it for clarification. So, Emma knows about Kimberly because she doesn't want her mother to know she was there. Very interesting.
2. Emma knows Catherine. Emma is trying to spin a narrative to toss Kimberly under the bus.
Here is where we'll see if Catherine is biased towards Patricia or not. Catherine can not take sides. I believe that Catherine, who is a very good, possibly world class, mistress herself, should be able to figure out who is lying.
However, if Catherine is smart, she would be speaking to the subs, not Emma or Kimberly. Catherine could push Anna, her twin, and Gabby. Anna and her sister's story will be consistent. Gabby's insecurities about being right will be at war with devotion to Emma; Gabby will appear nervous and a good mistress will pick up on that. Catherine, if she is any good, should quickly figure out what truly was going on.
Emma doesn't want to stress out Patricia. Is this why the dungeon was closed? Did Patricia have a nervous breakdown?
And, we now know why Catherine is there; Julia called her. I hope Catherine kills the ceremony. Julia and Emily are not compatible.
Sorry, I'm rambling. It's way past my bedtime.

It can't be😯! How can Emma lie after all Emma doesn't like lies, then she would have to lie to 'whitewash' herself? Why doesn't she say that Kimberly, administered the world class mistress test and a catch up was needed? I think I know, it would offend her goddess ego....🤔😏
