Added 2023-08-24 02:19:21 +0000 UTCRecently I (Austen) asked you guys for feedback as an editor, and while this didn't come up during that thread, sometimes I do see complaints about the titling and whatnot of fantano channel vids, and that's maybe worth commenting on. To clarify, it's usually me titling and thumbnailing the vids, if that takes some heat off Anthony lol.
Basically I just do my best to give our vids a better shot at being seen, whether that means going w/ a meta, which isn't beneath me, or going out on a limb (MBDTFSEONIGHTMAREBUTITKINDAPOPPEDOFF acronym vid). I'm still having fun w/ the channel after 5-6 years, and it's thanks in part to getting silly w/ this. By that same token, doing YouTube really is a crapshoot and it's a shitty feeling after hours of editing to fumble a vid on the backend. You kind of have to reconcile the lessons from past successes and failures with the fact that there's no way of knowing for sure how a vid would have performed if given a different coat of paint. On a positive note, there were quite a few commenters on our most recent video about straight edge, who were like "oh I didn't even know there was a word for this," etc. I'm happy in those instances.
Obviously this is an unserious topic, but wanted to riff on it anyway.

I do get the point of flat out saying “new [insert artist] song is mid”, but I think having (TRACK REVIEW) and the song name in the title feels more.. complete and non spoiler-y? Other than that, I think your titles are fine

2023-08-24 08:30:33 +0000 UTCYeah I don't really mind it, I know you gotta do what you gotta do to get the videos out there. Even if a channel has a few cringy titles its not a big deal for me, and honestly I don't remember any from you that actually annoyed me or anything.
