The Girl who plays Jennie was in a show alongside Rafe Spall called Pete vs Life, which is a show I think you’d love! About a guy (Pete obvs) who kind of bumbles through life. But there’s a little box in the corner where two sports type commentators (one of them is Michael from I’m Alan Partridge), are doing a running commentary on all of his fuck ups and shit luck. It’s fucking hilarious! She plays a posh but ditzy brief girlfriend who says and gets him saying cringe shit like “Fankoooo”, in a squeaky voice instead of thank you. It wasn’t that huge a show and didn’t run that many series’ so probably wouldn’t get that many votes in a poll I don’t think but I also think it would be right up your street!

Don't crush them Lynn

mav

Oh wow. Can't cock up more than that.

Joe Thornhill

He forgot to add the video in the first post, the muppet 😆

BigChanChan

Whilst I don't think it's the funniest, its pretty solid and has some hilarious moments. The best part is the concept of the show allows the writers to explore all sides we've seen before of Alan in one show, sort of like a best of but totally new.

“Like the student standing in front of the tank in Chinaman Square.”

Bryter

Great stuff KB, keep a look out in upcoming episodes for some subtle changes, and Partridge throwing something lol, that can be easily missed

Dave L

Tim Key showing up in Mickey 17 had me out my chair in the theatre. He was great in it too.

Spoingus

That seal cry just sounded like a classic who ship to me, lol.

Joe Thornhill

A re-upload? Why's that?

Joe Thornhill

Did I miss something, or disorder miss lynn coming back after all the years ? Genuinely don’t know if I missed it or boomer did 😆

Mark Rudd

TheHigh

Fluck. one of my favs in the whole series, simple but brilliant. Up there with the 'Hey, baby girl' roleplay therapy. say no more.. say no more. heh.

emu cat

Hey, don't knock The One Show! It's provided me with many moments where I don't have to talk to my family because there's someone talking about a rhubarb farm in Yorkshire.

AdamMcAdamface

Clunt.

Pat Chapman

Listening to his audiobooks after watching this adds an extra dimension, how he twists everything.

Partridge is probably the No. 1 master of narcissistic cringe ever created and is unlikely to be surpassed. Brent is also a cringe clusterf#*k but is a more 'realistic' character IMO that you could quite easily find in an office or company somewhere, just a bit exaggerated. We are lucky to have been blessed in the UK with great comedy characters, writing and acting.

Fordy7169

Personal opinion, I think we celebrate failure not because we like it, but realise that it's a part of life and it's better to laugh about it than try to be perfect. To me it seems to have its roots in post empire Britain, where people became unsure about the notion of "Britishness" and what that meant (hence Basil Fawlty who obviously harked for the days of empire!). I'm sure it's probably got a deeper history than that. But I'm just a muppet in a chair!

AdamMcAdamface

The actress who plays Jennie ( Alan's co-host) does an amazing role in this show, trying to keep things professional while Alan goes off the wall!

AdamMcAdamface

Haven't rewatched any of this since the first time, so looking forward to this series. The separate Partridge segments are mostly the best parts from what I remember, but when Partridge meets Irish farmer Martin Brennan on the couch, it's an all-time classic piece of Partridge.

Richie

Yes! Glad you are doing This Time they are so funny. If you didn't now this show is taking the piss out of a show called The One Show from the BBC. It's a shit tea time show on BBC One and they talk to random guests and have small info videos about the most random subjects.

Andy H

his interactions with Ruth Duggan every week are so funny. he can never say anything without her nitpicking.

Andrew Sanderson

Awesome. Why are we so addicted to train wreck characters? Basil Fawlty was the OG and he inspired an endless supply of loveable cretins 😂

Julian T

In case you don't have the context Boomer, This Time is a very thinly veiled parody of The One Show, a real (incredibly dull) BBC show

Rach

This only gets better and better

Jamie

Needles to say, i took drugs

The subtlety of Lynn commenting on Jenny’s top and then going on to intimate in an around about way without actually saying it, that she is a whore, sums up the genius of the Alan Partridge universe perfectly. I’m a fully paid up cultist and this is why. What I love about this series in particular is the subtlety throughout. It really is comedy genius. Alan Partridge is THE greatest comedy character of all time and will never be matched. I love David Brent and Larry David (as a warped self) in Curb, but neither will ever get close to Partridge imho. Every single look and movement means something. Being American, some of the references won’t register with you and that’s ok but I absolutely love that you still get most of it. It shows you’ve got some brains. Most here in the UK don’t truly understand the character, some even hate him thinking he’s real. There are two types of people in this world, those that get Partridge and those that don’t. I love seeing people watching his stuff for the first time and seeing the nuances in it. You’re in for some treats as this series continues! Keep up the good work KB!

Paul Cole

He didn't just drop the F-bomb, you missed him dropping the C-bomb a second before that!

Nick

Spice World!
