Mid Morning Matters S2 Ep6 REACTION!

Another wonderful Partridge experience.

Mid Morning Matters S2 Ep6 REACTION!

Comments

Scissored Isle is the best of the specials by some distance

Paul Cole

Tim Key is a genius just for keeping a straight face during some of this.

Julian T

'Scissored Isle' next then 'This Time' both are excellent, you'll find them really funny. He's also been recording a new series called 'And Did Those Feet.. With Alan Partridge' not sure when it will be released though.

Andy H

Alan singing some great medleys. Kate Bush: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=3ySXSfo7eSc&pp=ygUQa2F0ZSBidXNoIG1lZGxleQ%3D%3D Queen: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=q58cGkjRm_Y&pp=ygUQa2F0ZSBidXNoIG1lZGxleQ%3D%3D

Luke Barton

Scissored Isle would probably be next. It’s almost a spiritual successor to Welcome to the Places of My Life. At one point you should start branching out to some other Coogan characters. Paul & Pauline Calf should be next on the list. Coogan’s Run from 1995 is well worth a watch

Luke Barton

I've always considered the Alan Partridge 1999 Comic Relief segment to be Coogan on some of his best form with Partridge - all the deliberate mistakes are brilliantly done, and Michael makes an appearance as Charity Charlie.

Richie

I agree with your ranking, KMKNWAP and IAP are peak Partridge, but MMM is very good indeed nevertheless. I think the final frame in this seems to represent da Vinci's The Last Supper, but not sure Partridge is Christ lol.

Richie

The Tony Ferrino special is very funny, and a work of genius, it mimics a seventies entertainment show perfectly.

Dave Roberts

The tills is brilliant 🤣

Rhys Jones

Steve can sing. This is a great clip from The Trip you could do on YT should you wish - 3 octaves https://youtu.be/N7s31Wr85Nk?si=tWbOopiAgOeI5DX5

Carly

Rewatch the movie again now you know the character better

Gavin Doidge

It’s definitely Jesus, but why?😂

Toby Lewis

Scissored Isle is one of the best things he's done. The bit on the tills is ace

Jamie

Scissored Isle 👍

Dannythedoodle

Great ep / reaction. 😂👍👍 Alan's meltdown (all the stress re his break-up coming to boil). 😂😂😂 🐑 Next AP specials are; Alan Partridge: Welcome to the Places of My Life (2012) Alan Partridge's Scissored Isle (2016) Alan Partridge: Why, When, Where, How and Whom? (2017) I've not seen this one, it got past me. 6:45 You mentioned Coogan's singing, he's an excellent singer. One of his comedy characters that you have yet to see is Tony Ferrino. The womanizing, coke-head Portugeuse singing sensation. He's a cross between and Tony Montana. 29:52 Interesting / odd note ; Alan has stigmata markings on his palms and Simon has a disciple type of look / posture towards him. The song that plays is Aphrodite's Child 'The Four Horsemen', which references the bible's Book of Revelation. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3KCbqhJt16k

Jason Scade

It simply has to be Scissored Isle

daniel shears

Scissored Isle!

Anthony Mark Taylor

This time with, this time with, this time with.....forget the other stuff.....WHY....ITS IN THE VERY NAME!!!!

R Lawrence

Alan's retelling of the arguement with the boy about the sheep is one of my favourite bits of Alan media. It's on his Big Beacon audiobook when you get around to it.

Kevin Liversage

Just in case you do watch it, it’s from 2001 & split into 2 parts on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Anddn_DbOK8 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CmywrDBW3Us

AdamMcAdamface

There’s also a Mid Morning Matters Comic Relief special. I know the Comic Relief stuff can be hit & miss, but IMO it’s up to usual Partridge standards! It’s not important to watch it in a particular order though, and it’s only about 10 minutes long and up on YouTube so might work better as a YouTube reaction at some point down the line.

AdamMcAdamface

Steve Coogan's signing, all I can say is '3 octaves'. You will understand once watched The Trip!

Peter Andrews

Donnie Brasco has that scene where Johnny Depp explains all the different things "forget about it" can mean and different ways it's said. I've heard some say that if you're a good singer, acting as a bad singer is actually quite difficult which i think is what was happening

RA Keogh

I think it's supposed to be a Jesus reference or something? Would make sense considering the music too.

Joel Oates

That final shot is bizzare. Alan has blood on the palms of his hands, as if he’s been crucified. Sidekick Simon looks as if he’s in awe of some sort of prophet. It must have a deeper meaning which I’m not aware of

Toby Lewis

Scissored Isle is so funny… I went to uni in Manchester which is mainly where it is set and me and my mates were laughing sooo much (especially after a night out 🍁🤭)

Rhys Jones

'Scissored Isle' which is a one off special then it's 'This Time With Alan Partridge' Series 1 & Series 2... I'm kinda repetating what Jon said in the comment!... Then I think he has a new series or one off special coming out sometime this year... Lovely Stuff!

carrot

Don’t forget “This time”

Philip Tomlinson

Next its the 'Scissored Isle' special that completes the trio of Partridge specials. Then its on to 2x seasons of 'This Time with AP'. Hopefully you'll stick with Partridge as the best stuff is yet to come!
