Blackadder S4 Ep2 "Corporal Punishment" REACTION!

Private Baldric: NO!

Blackadder S4 Ep2 "Corporal Punishment" REACTION!

Comments

If you haven't, you should watch the drama "Wilde", with Stephen Fry giving an amazing performance as Oscar Wilde.

Tom D

VERY excited for the next episode with what is my all time favourite example of sarcasm from Blackadder when Baldrick dons his Charlie Chaplin disguise 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣

Stuart Gunpowder

Jeremy hardy..the little guy in charge of the prison was huge comedy figure in the 80s and 90s but sadly died young..the big guy in the firing squad is Stephen frost who appears in lots

Paul Liversage

The reason Tim McInnery wasn't a regular in the third series and has a completey different character in this one, was becasue he was afraid of being typecast as the idiot sidekick.

Kickstart 1.3

Some gobblygook about having a lion up your bottom 🤣

Tim Salt (Tim Salt Writes)

I was disappointed by the book so never watched the film, I don't know who that is unfortunately.

R Lawrence

Kb it was me who pointed out who Tim McInnery was in GOT in a direct message on here to you and you were amazed. 😁 you're welcome mate

Silly Uncle Andy Farmer

Dominic Monaghan's voice (he played Merry in lord of the rings) has deepened significantly in the past 20 years

Jessica Dalton-Morgan

I've never seen game of thrones but the guy you were talking about (Tim mcinnery) has acted in a lot of Shakespeare since blackadder days so maybe that's what made his voice change a bit.

R Lawrence

Stephen Frost

Mark McEwan

That's my favourite Stephen Fry performance, that courtroom scene is probably my favourite of the whole show.

Adi Hughes

YOU SHOT MY SPECKLED JIM?!!!

It’s a show I loved when I was 17 and back when Ben Elton was a comic genius, in my mind., However, only a few episodes work for me today. Mostly because a lot of the dialogue consisted of meaningless fillers like “As pointy as a very pointy man called mr pointy wearing a very pointy hat” 🥱 Series 4 was a big step up, in the comedy writing. And Stephen Fry, who was a bit rubbish in series 2, made it a lot funnier from S3E6 onwards.

Gary Tamblyn

Yeah I agree, also I think yes minister tries too hard at times to be funny, at times it's just a bunch of posh Eton politicians saying things without much meaning which is meant to be funny.

Jehan Ariyaratnam

Oh I look worse than the king lol

Nathan Daly

Have you ever heard the phrase if you can’t say anything nice don’t say anything at all 🤣

Paul

Baldrick deny everything!!! 🤣

Paul

17:29 - Brian my son ... you are a certified brit x

Craig McCulloch

BAAAAAHHH!!

Craig McCulloch

Yes he was one of the policemen . He was in other episodes as well as other characters.

Erica

There's no contest, Fawlty Towers is far funnier... I do admire the writing of Blackadder though and I have fond memories of watching it with my dad and it being one of our favourites... Having watched it a few times now with American reactors including KB, I've come to the conclusion that it's nowhere near as funny as I remember it from my youth... I still like and rate Blackadder but it's probably not even in my top 10 UK TV funniest comedies of all time anymore!

BigChanChan

Who's the big guy ordering the firing squad, with the 'tash? His voice sounds familiar. Was he in 'The young ones' at all?

Joe Thornhill

You need to close that door and put up some pictures for the Echo.

Danny Heywood

Nice one, congrats on your new home, hope you will be happy there 🙏

MarkC

Brilliant episode, the whole trial sequence was just comedy gold. Great reaction Boomer, i could tell you loved this episode. I love animals but the scene when Blackadder just brutally shoots the pigeon was made so funny because of how abrupt it was and he just looked like he didn’t give a f**k at all. Also Fry’s shouting cracks me up every time, his face looks like it’s about to burst because he’s straining so much.

James Ellison

Stephen Fry is a treasure, and amazing that he was only 28 during Blackadder II, and 32 in this series. There's a small clip from QI a few years ago where he puts on the Melchett moustache again...BAAAH!

MrPhil_K

😂 🐦 🔫

Great episode Can’t wait for your reaction to episode 4 of this series (one after next) No spoilers but I’m 100% confident it’ll be your favourite episode of the entire show lol

Chug

Great reaction. Tim McInnerny is a great actor and it's always fun to watch actors do very different roles. He has played lots of different characters, some charming, some dark. Same with Hugh Laurie: playing the optimistic English idiot in Blackadder, then the sour, melancholy American main character in House.

Ash X

I've been waiting feckin' AGES for this one to come up!!! Hurrah!

Tom

British actors all get their training in stage productions and a lot of Shakespeare so they're expected to be able to play any type of role and to speak clearly and, most of all, loudly so the audience in the upper balcony can hear them. Stephen Fry also played the Master of Laketown in the second and third Hobbit movies.

Mr Jackpots

the way he says no to his name is so ridiculously funny

J

Rowan Atkinson said they set it in various times in history to avoid being compared to fawlty towers which was the most prominent sitcom of that era but as much as I like blackadder the writing and acting in fawlty towers is just brilliant. And it's easy to watch and has a flow to it. I have the same criticism of Yes minister - sometimes you can't tell if the dialogue is meant to be funny or not, in that. You have to wait for it to be obviously funny or just accept the dialogue as a bit quirky but not funny.

Jehan Ariyaratnam

Neither does the broken chair

Brian Moran

That camera angle does not flatter you lol

Nathan Daly

w00t!
