Dawn said she knows him from the butchers. That's why after Pete said he's a work colleague, Bryn says "I never knew you were a butcher Pete!" Despite him being a Quantity Surveyor I believe (she says it on the quiz episode)

2024-11-02 23:55:02 +0000 UTCThe reason why you didn't quite catch what Pete and Dawn said about Seth is becuase they said two different things, Pete said he is a work colleague and Dawn said she knows him from her work place, they do this a lot in this show, two characters will say two different things at once. And yes it has got me rewinding a few times while putting the subtitles on.

2024-10-31 09:04:27 +0000 UTCYou know, I haven't tried learning a language but I do play guitar and I think it's all the same. Imagine you're a baby again. Start gradually with easy stuff for like half an hour to an hour every day, persist for 2-3 years and you'll get anything done. Especially with languages, try to consume yourself in that language as much as you can until it becomes the norm or second nature. Our brain might be more developed now but it still didn't take us only a year to learn to speak read and write our native tongues properly when we were toddlers.

Reading into it, Pete explains that he signed up to a site and cancelled immediately, on the basis of trying to prove a link between Russian child exploitation sites and UK Banks. The police found no evidence of him viewing or downloading any of the material, but he was arrested simply by paying for that service. To be honest it was a rather dumb thing to do, but as I've always admired him as a musician, its good to know that he's still a decent guy.

The great thing about this show is that while it's not always laugh out loud funny, you get completely wrapped up in the two family dynamics. With regards to places in Greece, I have to defend Corfu. It has a bad reputation because the Southern part has been completely taken over by tourism unfortunately, but there's parts of Central and Northern Corfu which as still unspoiled and absolutely beautiful.

2024-10-30 19:26:08 +0000 UTCThe Peter Townsend you were referring to King Boomer was born in 1914 , and was an officer in the British Royal Air Force and was linked romantically with Princess Margaret for a time I think. He never joined 'The Who' though , that was, and is, Pete Townshend. 👍

He proposed to Margaret but the Church, Govt and the Royals disapproved on the grounds he was a divorcee so it didn't happen. Nessa was taking about the rock star Pete Townshend of The Who who emerged in the 1960's and subsequently was accused of accessing 'dodgy images of minors' as research for a 'book' he was writing which has never come out. Nessa refers to this.
