2024-10-30 00:22:54 +0000 UTCThe echo will calm once you've filled your room out. If you want to go pro, absorption (also called reflector) panels will help. You won't need bass traps (big bulky things in the room corners) for what you're doing. The best panels are the fabric ones, filled with rockwool, you don't need many, just place them strategically - I'd suggest one either side of your computer, and one behind, these are your primary sound reflection points. The foam panels are ok, but not as effective. You might decide you don't need any once the rooms filled out, so hold onto your bucks for now.

Yeah the echo on the audio is a bit more noticeable so you might want to adjust audio settings or put up some acoustic pads, though you might find that once you move more stuff into the room it will absorb the echo anyway. (I'm no expert though so don't worry, I'm not going to go full sound-tech Nazi!).
