thetford forest never meant that to me lol

Chay Davenport

I cringed so much at the Underground scene I nearly turned inside out.

One thing at the end there as I think you just misheard it, Alan says he can use the field since all the farmers horses died in 2010, then he goes on to say "Of course I use the field with permission..... unlike that other driver in 2010", implying that the reason the horses died to begin with was because one guy ran them all over lol, rather than just a disease or something.

Another brilliant reaction video 😅 I think you still have Anglian Lives to react to, I don't remember seeing you watch that one. It's a one off special that came after It's Alan Partridge. https://youtu.be/fLkliBYfn0I?si=pkPaf92WkcOoLFp1

I'd like to recommend you add to your movie reactions 'Philomena', as a fan of Steve Coogan and your range of movies I genuinely think you'll like it, it's not a comedy (though there are some much needed light relief moments which are amusing) but a very powerful story based on a true case. Coogan personally was invested with the real life Philomena Lee's story. Excellent chemistry with Steve and Judi Dench who plays the title role, he also co-wrote and co-produced the movie.

The Darkest Hour is a terrible film, cliched and mainly inaccurate.

Dave Roberts

"Wish I could have recorded some of the arguments we had..." Unless they end with someone dropping a turd in the bed, there's really no need for that.

Scissored Isle next! His interview with the Mayor of Manchester after a night spent with some "youths" is one of my all time favourite Partridge moments.

Dan Haynes

I’ve watched them far too much 😂 I can hear Michael’s voice saying “Mr Cragg… chemistry teacher’ as he ‘types’ the details into the Apache computer. Have a couple of friends where we can communicate in Partridge quotes. One told me to put radio 3 on the other day, they were playing the Black Beauty theme so had to quote that bit from the last ep of s1… I did once put together a ‘fun pack’ for him for a joke birthday present - with exactly the same items in as Alan provided at the Dante’s conference including a Curly Wurly, a vodka miniature, book of stamps, a Bic-style razor and I think I found a torch that was close enough to a Danko night stick. Obviously a bit of a comedy obsessive, often have a few show on it the background when I’m work, have worked in it a bit, love it

Kieran B

Wow, that's deep knowledge of Partridge lore. 🏆 🍺🍺

Jason Scade

Next up on your Alan Partridge list... Mid morning matters series 2 Scissored isle special This Time series 1 and 2

Andy H

I missed that too. Cheers, mate. 😂 ♥

Jason Scade

You missed the joke with the horse field, he said he’s used it since the farmer’s horses died in 2010 but he always asks permission to drive through it - unlike that driver in 2010… the implication being someone ran over the horses

Kieran B

Continuity error from the Gibbons here - Mr Cragg was Michael’s chemistry teacher (who was a target for his Apache rampage) rather than Alan’s

Kieran B

The market stall trader is Graham Duff who created and wrote the brilliant surreal comedy Ideal - starring Johnny Vegas. Graham is in it too

Kieran B

Such a great special, the one at the end of s2 of Mid-Morning Matters is my favourite though (Scissored Isle)

Kieran B

Superb! And it's not even the best one-off special. Great ep and reaction. 🤣 I'm happy with whatever Partridge you want to do next, I'm sure you will eventually go through the whole video back catalog. Other great Coogan characters / shows are; - Saxondale (tv show, 2 series) - Paul Calf (has sketches, 3 tv episodes and live on stage performances. All hilarious) 1) Paul Calf's Video Diary. 2) Three Fights Two Weddings and a Funeral. 3) Coogan's Run (Paul appears in one of six episodes). - Pauline Calf (tarty sister of the above. I'd do her. Has sketches, 3 tv episodes and live on stage performances. All hilarious) - Tony Ferrino (Portugal's #1 singing sensation. A kind of cross between Julio Iglesias and Tony Montana. Has 2 one-off specials, if I remember correctly) - Duncan Thickett (very nervous and poor quality stand-up comedian, really funny. Appears in Live Coogan shows) - Dr. Terrible's House of Horrible (An anthology of 6 different tales of terror. Superb camp horror parody of the old style of 60s/70s UK horror films) Probably the best two live Coogan stand-up shows are; Live 'n' Lewd (1993-ish) The Man Who Thinks He's It (1994-ish) This also stars Simon Pegg, if I recall correctly.

Jason Scade

There's a little bit of Alan Partridge in all of us. ♥ Not literally, of course. That would be hideous.

Jason Scade

That's a great idea, time permitting for KB. :D

Jason Scade

Watching now, I agree with you that Coogan is a comedic genius. He's up there with Peter Sellers. I've been massive Coogan fan since '94.

Jason Scade

Yeah I think so, he's just trying to do all of his shows in chronical order.

BigChanChan

Yeah man, mid morning matters s02. Then maybe "this time" is the next logical step? Mate the oasthouse podcasts are top draw Partridge, but they're podcasts unfortunately, worth checking out though

Dan Smith

Yeah it was a boat house.

Natalie

Will you be doing the second series of Mid Morning Matters?

MrPhil_K

Agree with Jamie… technically, it’s the movie next. Maybe worth a re-watch for continuity?

Jon

Might be a good idea to re-watch the Movie? Pretty sure you saw that not knowing the character?

Jamie

There's a Partridge for everyone.

Jamie

Brilliant special. That said it does have one of those extremely rare AP jokes that don't totally land for me, where he falsely credits Joan Osborne's '[What If God Was] One of Us' to Aimee Mann. The latter has never had any UK hits to speak of and in general seems more like an artist for the cooler/deeper music connoisseur, and so it's doubtful Alan would even have heard of her. I feel the joke would work better if he'd wrongly credited the song to someone far more mainstream and famous like Alanis Morissette or Sheryl Crow. And that's the end of me pretending to know things better than Steve Coogan and the Gibbons brothers, and telling them how to write stuff!

Flemish Giant

City Market spot on!

Owen Rhodes

Alan presenting his own mock tv shows is when we get into top tier Partridge.

Jon

Yeah, its back into S2 of MMM and then after its the Scissored Isle special.

Jon

If you can get Scissored Isle, react to that one. It’s by far the best of the Alan Partridge one-offs

Paul Cole

Good luck with the move, bud. Hope all's going well. I know how stressful moving can be. I moved recently, and had no car at the time to help with the heavy goods.
