But the reality is that, of the long list you posted here a while ago, there were many shows better than it imo, most of which, since then, you have still to react to. Separate issue is that James Corden is a knob, though he's good in this and he's obviously the co-writer.

2024-10-17 12:45:51 +0000 UTCNever got into G&S when it came out, over the years I’ve seen lots of little clips on YT which were quite funny but I never liked the character Nessa which is why I never started watching it, all the other characters are ‘ok’ no one really stands out, My opinion of Cordon is he’s quite likeable in this, off screen he’s ok too, don’t hate him, don’t love him, I’m glad I’m watching it on the king boomer channel, it’s another one ticked off the list, But for me it’s a bit like Fresh Meat, ok but nothing special,

It's after Fred and Rose "West" like Stacey West. Gavin "Shipman" is after Dr Harold "Shipman" and Peter and Dawn "Sutcliffe" derives from Peter "Sutcliffe" the Yorkshire ripper.

I sub to channels I want to support, and don't expect everything to cater to my tastes. Anyone who unsubs a decent content creator because they don't like certain choices, means that they have little interest in supporting those channels, they just have a sense of self entitlement.

2024-10-14 20:50:41 +0000 UTCYou've got this show all wrong. It's NOT a family show, it deals with real issues pretty well. They did an American version of the show, but cocked it up as usual. It's dark and funny. It was NEVER about Gavin and Stacey, it was always abut Smithy and Nessa.

2024-10-14 20:39:40 +0000 UTCYes that was Sinatra with 'Fly With Me'. Stacey's maiden name was West and now married it's Shipman. 2 famous UK serial killers of the last 30/40 years. Shipman was the winner of that one. The number of dissenters shows the effect of Corden's unpopularity since this show finished. At the time in the 2000's he was unknown and everyone just took in the show so just transport yourself back 15 years. Should be easier for you over there in the U.S. unless you couldn't stand his Late Show host stint either.

KingBoomer could fly from Florida all the way to my house walk into my living room take a massive dump on my kids then smack me in the mouth... Then leave and I still wouldn't unsubscribe...if anything I'd up my subscription. In KB we trust. regardless of any bad TV shows which there's been... Benidorm *cough*

2024-10-14 18:10:14 +0000 UTCJust to explain the Shipman and West part, in case you won't have gotten the reference: there were a couple here in the UK called Fred and Rosemary West who murdered a bunch of women. And Harold Shipman was a doctor who killed a lot of elderly people. Both high profile cases. So the joke is about changing Stacey's surname from West which has bad connotations, to Shipman, which is still not good. It's a bit dark but still kind of funny.
