Blackadder S3 Ep6 "Duel and Duality" REACTION!

Who's going to die this time?

Blackadder S3 Ep6 "Duel and Duality" REACTION!

Comments

There's also a comic relief mini episode set in the civil war: https://youtu.be/NOyZzUofRZU?si=Lx7rjUcegApIE3xC

Neal Murdoch

There's Blackadders Christmas Carol then season 4 which is 3 hours of the best TV ever and is still used in history classes today.

Neal Murdoch

I love the little detail of the second record scratch when they put the mournful music back on for the Prince

Eleanor Elliott

You will absolutely love season 4

Steven McMahon

Oh, sorry, Yeah Season 4 first, then the specials.

Danny Heywood

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fki5pi_Y5IY QI people taking the piss out of Stephen Fry

Danny Heywood

The Americans only watch the last 1/4 of it.

Danny Heywood

Bring on Blackadder Goes Forth!

John Dawber

I doubt George III had a German accent.

Grady Parsons

One thing to remember when you get to the finale of series 4 - don't skip the credits.

Ash Allen

I also hope you, the queen and princess are unaffected by Milton and Helene. I would leave the special until the end of season 4.

John Allen

Unrelated to the reaction but hope you, the queen and princess are safe and unharmed. Thoughts are with you all, love from wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🇬🇧

Nathan

I could see it as a reaction on the Movie timeline because the episodes are long but only about 2 episodes per story.

Martin Clarkson

If you are interested in the Napoleonic wars, you would probably enjoy the Sharpe TV series starring Sean Bean. Probably not for reacting to but watching in your own time as the episodes are about 2 hours long each! It’s based on brilliant books which track a fictional soldier through the campaigns and his rise and fall within the ranks

Robert Carter

I just saw what is about to hit Florida. hope you're far away from it. Looks terrifying. Peace.

Matthew Mosley

OFAH is both English and British in various ways: the cast and crew and the money pouring into the BBC (BRITISH Broadcasting Corporation) via the license fee come from every corner of the UK. British identity is real.

Ash X

I think I'm fine with people using English, Scottish, Welsh, Irish etc instead of British for reasons of being specific; so long as it's not meant in an insulting or put-down way against the other nations. Contextual for me. Rob has a slight point in that English and British are perhaps used more interchangeably than they should be; indeed Only Fools and Horses is an English comedy if Father Ted is an Irish one. But you catch more flies with honey, and all that.

ALW

You’ll love season 4. It’s outstanding in every way. I’d got straight to 4 and leave the special

Chris

Against my instincts, I'd probably agree that "Blackadder's Christmas Carol" should be saved for the Christmas season, as long as you understand that it will only reference S2 and S3 it won't really matter. But it is brilliant and it's part of my must watch Christmas sitcom special schedule every year. By the time you've finished S4 (depending on your schedule) it'll be just the right time to watch. As for the post S4 specials, I'm not a fan of them to be honest - but will be interested to see how those go down with you KB :)

Phil Robinson

You will love the 4 series especially the last episode

Richard Storey

I think leave it till Christmas.

Tuts Tut

the christmas special covers the series that we have seen, before what happens in season 4 SO WATCH IT FIRST!

louis john lami

Series 4 Christmas special Back and forth

Rob webber

Yeah, that first punch went right passed Hugh's left ear. And of course we're only watching it on less than a quarter sized square in the corner compared to the screen KB must have.

Joe Thornhill

It's just now occurred to me how silly of a question it is to ask what order a special should be watched in, with a show that reinvents itself in a new era every series.

Joe Thornhill

Gaelic is only one of three official languages spoken in Scotland, the others being Scots and of course English.

Gareth

Since Christmas is on the horizon it might be worth holding out on the special for then as a themed thing. It's completely separate to the other series (as are each of the series with each other) and ultimately doesn't matter if you watch it or s4 first, just might be good to have some Christmas stuff at christmas time.

Tom Tucker

I always thought it was weird when they depicted George III with a German accent... Pretty sure he was born in England and never left south England his whole life.

Chaitra

Fortunately, history, politics, economics and the law of the land are not reducible to your respective nationalisms, which I find unsettlingly pedantic and jingoistic. It is not even logical because George III can be categorised as both English and British, and not merely one or another unless by this argumentation you wish to create a forum for your own nationalistic viewpoint. But to present this as a kind of corrective to my original point or to people who use 'British' and 'English' and 'Scottish' fairly interchangeably is wrong headed and has no basis in the multiple contexts in which the many regions of this country overlap. By your logic, we should call him a Londoner in case a Northerner could be offended by the generalised category I used to define him!

Ash X

You can leave the Christmas special for Christmas - its a one off and defo for Christmas. It's doesn't matter about any timeline ( although the Gavin and Stacey one has to be watched in order )

Mark Jephson

Definitely do the Christmas Special as it's the next one chronologically

Gavin Doidge

Back & Forth needs to be watched after Season 4

Steve King

If by the special, you're talking about Blackadder Back and Forth, I'd leave it until after Season 4 personally.

FPG

I would leave it until near Christmas as that is the theme /story. You'll also recognise a few famous supporting actors. Give you another bonus shot of Blackadder to celebrate the Festive season.

Fordy7169

Also Blackadder: Back & Forth, the millennium special! Quite a bit later though, so probably makes sense to end off the run of Blackadder reactions with it!

settopboxing

I feel the same way, but as a Scot, and our own things being branded as British rather than Scottish.

ThetaSigmaTheOriginal

George III was born and raised in England. Not being pedantic but England and Scotland were (and still are) very different countries so bunging them together with the umbrella term 'Britain' is very vague and a point that irks me still today. Some people ask "What's the difference?" when this distinction is pointed out, which renders me dumbstruck as if a person doesn't know the huge cultural differences between England, Scotland and Wales then they must be simple. The very language they object in is called English - not British. Why? Because it was devised in England and spoken by the English! Scotland and Wales have their own languages (Gaelic and Welsh respectively). I realise this is very much a stick up my arse but as a proud Englishman, nothing is more infuriating than when people on here hail 'Father Ted' as a brilliant Irish comedy, 'Still Game' as a brilliant Scottish comedy and 'Twin Town' a wicked Welsh film, but call 'Only Fools and Horses' a spectacular 'British' comedy......NO!!! ITS AN ENGLISH COMEDY. I will go to my deathbed making sure England is never sidetracked and overlooked by idiots who don't know what they're on about!!! (Last remark not aimed at you obviously) 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

Rob Walters

George III was the first of his family actually born in England; something he took a huge amount of pride in. So he wouldn't have had a German accent, but it makes the scene funnier.

ALW

Thanks for this reaction, Boom, during your busy house move! George III didn't have a German accent: he was born and raised in Britain. The previous Georgian kings did have prominent German accents though.

Ash X

I'd say watch series 4 now and leave the xmas special until xmas, it would be nice to see a few xmas shows actually at xmas, did you watch Alan Partridge Knowing me, Knowing Yule? If not that would be good for xmas too, great reactions Boomer, season 4 is the one though, it's brilliant!

Mark Jones

But some of us....dont.

Ged Fazakerley

I would do the Christmas special before series 4 because it's chronologically earlier

hfdzongkha

Yes

Brian Moran

Has King Boomer ever mentioned or been told that the actor who plays Baldrick is the same actor who played Daddy in Man Down?

BigChanChan

Oi! Brian. Slow down these uploads, maybe one a month. Some of us real boomers have a mountain of back series on patron to catch up on!

bobbyshaftowenttosea

That's what I thought, obviously some things are better seen in order but people are insisting that the mere order of production be strictly adhered to even when it makes no difference.

R Lawrence

Definitely watch the Christmas Special before going onto the last season.

Noel Draper

Enjoy the end. The only time one of Baldrick's cunning plans actually worked.

Mr Jackpots

Blackadder’s Christmas Carol next but there is also a comic relief special called the Cavalier Years which is worth watching too.

John Snashall

18:45, The first ‘BAAA!!’ of the series. It was natural for Stephen Fry to play Wellington, because he has had many years of punching Hugh Laurie when they were a double act, so Hugh knew just how to take a punch from him and make it look realistic.

Daniel Davies

The Christmas special is best watched at Christmas. I watch it every Christmas Eve it’s a tradition of mine 💁🏻‍♀️.

Erica

Cheers

R Lawrence

Doesn't matter when you watch the special. It's a christmas one based around scrooge/christmas carol and entirely unrelated to anything else.

Baroque10

I hope the move is going well Mr Boomer, i appreciate the uploads during this busy time.

James Ellison

I've enjoyed watching along the show since I had barely watched S1-3 previously. S4 however I have watched plenty and is definitely the best.

SnakeYikes

Yep

Ian Clark

What was the special? Was it the Christmas Carol one or something?

R Lawrence

By the way black adder first aired weekly at half-nine. So that's what he meant but you probably got that.

R Lawrence

Watch the special immediately after Season Three. It's how it was originally scheduled.

Ian Clark
