2024-12-29 20:16:38 +0000 UTC@KB They made "mini-Specials" through the years which are great, they're embedded into the BAU episodes but segments add up to about 30 mins each. A personal fave is buying and insuring cars as if you are 17 years old, they buy a car and insure it on a budget, then do a number of challenges. Its comedy gold and the style was the precursor to their future specials - check it out! :)

2024-09-30 21:01:27 +0000 UTCI always think of the specials in two groups, the big expedition ones which were normally shown at xmas with a big budget and the smaller more in series ones like this which were often shown mid series and sometimes even shown as excerpts during a whole normal show, this would be one of the latter, and there are some absolute crackers in the latter category.

I believe there are 6 DVD releases compiling these. 2024-09-29 19:27:36 +0000 UTCgood reaction KB, as you say some difference to the long road trip challenges, which are epic but something different, in line with that a few weeks ago now I sent over on the YouTube suggestion chat some top gear clips you may wish to check out! Not even to necessarily react to, just for yourself and your own fun lol, the show itself as a entity, the top gear and early grand tour episodes are not really review material with 95% of episodes having celebrity interviews and car reviews etc, as you have said yourself!! But over the years they done some great challenges within the episodes and also races! Most can be found on YouTube but they have done some legendary races, with Clarkson always in a car most of the time, a few exceptions, racing Richard and Hammond who use the public transport, they did a race across Japan doing this, was very good, a race across Europe with Jeremy in Bugatti and th other two on public transport and a small aeroplane, also a race from UK to Milan. With challenges, there has been so so many, some best were they all made amphibious cars and did a set of challenges on road and water, and did a follow up of this trying to cross the English Channel π, they have built their own 'caravans' and gone on a trip to Cornwall, created their own police cars and done challenges, ambulances, also some other different stuff like demolishing houses challenge and putting on a art show in Middlesbrough a personal favourite!
