John Mayer is the best overall guitarist of this generation and I want you to prove me wrong đŸ˜€

post it

its amazing how consistently queen managed to throw in all these greatest rock songs ever recorded in the midst of tons of filler on their mostly underwhelming albums

A

any 'is just' take is trash and overplayed

A

PokĂ©mon’s rse soundtrack is an amazing nu jazz record

Jeffrey Perdomo

Morbid Angel may possibly be the best death metal band but their Illud Divinum Insanus album killed much of their hype and reputation and they still haven't recovered.

Trap music will age worse than the bling era in 20 years.

Fear Inoculum is actually great

Purpskurp

I agree but the personal stuff is better than the politics. The political stuff is just word salad; vague calls for undisclosed action

How Much a Dollar Cost is just the Hip-Hop version of The Fray's "You Found Me"

Madlib should produce the next Tierra Whack album.

Agree with this if you take Ed Sheeran out.

smoothporcupine

I dont believe they are underrated at all. I think what you mean is they never gained the widespread exposure they deserved. And to a certain extent, Bob Moulds solo work.

smoothporcupine

Mindless Self Indulgence is System of a Down with electronics

g4ng

As in, hearing the original influences and then seeing slowly how they develop, versus hearing the modern product of a genre and backpedaling? Does listening to a bands discography in a non-traditional order also influence how we think of their other records? For example, MSP and IR were my first Radiohead records, as opposed to most people hearing Kid A or OK Computer first. I think because I heard those records first it will impact (at least initially) how I think of their discog.

Bryan D Courtney

Do you think listening to music chronologically shapes our opinions?

Bryan D Courtney

MC Ride is a mumble rapper

There was a hot take on the most recent let's argue that stated "Trap music is the musical equivalent of dadaism". I would say that mathcore bands like Seeyouspacecowboy and similar discordant dissonant noise acts are as close you're going to get to dadaism in popular music. However you're never truly going to be able to capture the essence of dada by bending the pre-established "rules" of what makes music listenable, popular etc. Instead you have to completely reject the fundamentals of music. The most accurate modern musical equivalent of dada would probably be some super experimental noise acts.

A more mature attitude about his struggles. Less whining, arrogance, and hate for the new rappers and maybe just being more of a father figure to the up-and-comers. 4:44 is the right way to deal with those questions as part of the old guard of hip hop

Sebastian Bravo

Eminem's new music touches on a lot of mature subject matter (stuff like getting older, his waning relevancy, his failings as an artist, his fractured familial relationships etc). However, these albums are still widely disliked and criticized. What do you think a great Eminem album would even look like in 2019?

Deano

i feel like K-Pop has been getting a lot of unessecary hate. while i'm not an avid listener, i can name a handfull of albums i consider great from K-Pop groups. Thoughts?

ari

Not a tough question, but can you do a Worst to Best for Nas? For me. Please. ❀

Poppy and Grimes are the next ideal step for metal music. Their combintation of pop music and nu metal are quite futuristic and catchy as hell. This will be especially true when grimes drops Miss Anthropocene

Riley Schmedeman

It is better for an artist to start their career on a mediocre project than a classic. Otherwise they will spend the rest of their career living in that projects shadow eg Nas, Mick Jenkins, and Weezer

Lucas Skoff

You should try reviewing videogame OSTs

Figure 8 is Eliott Smith's best album

Louie Gross

Not sure I agree, but I do go back to that one the most for some reason. I am conflicted.

Reign In Blood may be the Iconic Slayer album, but South Of Heaven and Seasons In The Abyss are improvements across the board in song writing, lyrics and overall variety.

TOUGH QUESTION: Why did you ignore Metallic Butterfly?

Jacob Axelrad

Owl City still makes music

Jacob Axelrad

The new Tool album will be their worst yet.

Billie Eilish is a good role model

If you disagree - who do you think will define this decade from a music perspective? Who will be talked about in 50 years as the most influential artist of the 10s?

We won't have music or fashion that 'defines' the 10s in the same way we do with the 70s, 80s, 90s etc... because the internet has rapidly sped up the rate at which culture morphs and changes.

Anthony Kiedis is a bad lyricist

NF is eminem for xxxtentacion fans

Muse's early albums tend to get a bad rap from music fans for "sounding too much like Radiohead" despite the fact that none of their albums except their debut sound anything like Radiohead.

Honestly I love AC/DC but the severity in which they are overplayed on the radio to this day makes me feel like they’re extremely overrated

The Black Parade is a severely underrated album. MCR showed much more ambition than most of their contemporaries at that time, and the album flirted with a concept that you wouldn’t see being replicated by many other rock bands today. For mainstream music, it was truly a one of a kind record. Also, the songs slap HARD.

Luke Berrie

Im gonna respond on this and say that ABBA is a pretty good example, its not that their albums are bad, but its an idea they stretch out over several songs where the label or the musicians themselves found the best ones and made them singles.

Are there any tracks and/or albums that you have not given very positive reviews to in the past, but that you still sometimes find yourself listening to on your own time?

Miles Lamborghini

The Electric Light Orchestra is one of the most underrated bands of 70’s with an interesting take on classical-pop rock fusion, with great hits and some rather good albums

There are many interesting things happening in jazz right now such as Kamasi Washington, the bad plus, Christian Scott, and many many more. And people should be more supportive of them instead of just listening to the classics.

Figure 8 is by far Elliott Smith’s blandest foray into indie pop. Everything on the album (instrumentals, production, lyrics) is way less interesting than his previous records.

You Fail Me > Jane Doe

It’s easy to give a classic album a 10 when you are able to look at its historical context and influence, so in some ways when you give a new album a 10 it carries a lot more weight

I know you’re not a fan of the Arctic Monkeys, but Tranquility Base is there best album since Favourite Worst Nightmare and one of the boldest left turns for a major indie rock artist in a long time

In a recent episode, you said there are a few artists whose only “album” worth listening to is their greatest hits. Who are the most notable artists where this is the case?

Sam Mosher

Rap in 2019 with new upcoming artists is like a show off of the flow more than the lyrics, it is like people listen to the flow and do not give a damn about lyrics... lets look at Logic for example - Fastest rapper in his household lmao

Hell yes

Simon

If you understand that Limp Bizkit is a fun band to listen to Golden cobra was a good album. To quote Wes Borland " I could see 1 out of 5 if you were expecting OK Computer [...] As far as LB records go, Gold Cobra is perfect".

I honestly think people are, "hating" on the beatles simply because of the internet age. People have access to so much music that the beatles dont look nearly as great as they once did when they were one of the few bands people had in their music collection. I still agree with your point to an extent though, I know a few people who've not liked the beatles simply because they didnt meet their expectations as this gargantuant band.

Brendan

Vegans actually HATE vegetables and that’s why they’re hell-bent on killing and eating as many as they possibly can.

I think it's time to rename the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame to the Music/Pop Culture Hall of Fame. I'm sorry but Janet Jackson, Madonna and ABBA are not Rock and Roll artists/bands.

Even though To Be Kind is a musical masterpiece, it doesn't achieve the same level of emotional terror Soundtracks for the Blind does, therefore the overall ,,feeling" of the album leaves a smaller impact on the listener, therefore Soundtracks is still Swans' best record to date.

birensmok

The brockhampton boys right now, (excluding Kevin of course) arent capable of solo careers. they work really well together on a track, but they simply dont have the artistic power required for their own solo ventures outside of the bands already established sound. check out there already existing solo stuff, its all pretty meh. I know that stuffs dated now, but my point still stands.

emma

This series needs more tough questions: How would you rank Led Zeppelin 1-4?

You gave Who Let the Dogs out by Baja Men a 0.5 stars on RYM. Who hurt you?

Definitely are the best

They may not be the best of the moment but KGATLW are the most prolific rock band of the moment

Punk music has the same snobbery of hipsters today claiming they "liked a band before they got big" the idea that all punk music has to be underground is pretty absurd, respected acts like the clash were hated for signing to CBS in 77, patti smith was hated for having a top 10 hit, and green day were banned from gilman for signing to a major and releasing dookie. Punk music was centred in rebellion since its birth, but the idea of rebelling against a system cannot be truly achieved if not enough people know about it. I love a lot of punk music but the purests approach to the genre is idiotic and the fact it died down as the genre evolved is great

The next big evolution in R&B will be a trip-hop revival; We see artists like Joji and Yves Tumor using these sounds already, and a big resurgence in the sort of sounds that Portishead/Massive Attack/others mixed in with the current future garage/art pop sounds will light the r&b landscape ablaze

Alex Vorstermans

I'm not sure if I stole this from someone else or not, but here goes You can't be a Weezer fan if you don't hate Weezer

bydot

Type O Negative should be considered one of the best bands of the 90/00s. They combined naughtiness, humor and goth greatness in a way never seen before or since.

noplanetb

I feel a lot of the more critical music listeners fail to acknowledge a lot of hip hop artists (mostly trap artists, rappers like Roddy Ricch, Lil Tecca, Polo G, Pop Smoke, Stunna 4 Vegas) blowing up in the mainstream and the underground for whatever reason, usually with the WSHH and lyrical lemonade crowds, even when an artist like this is on the same level as more experimental and well recieved rappers. Also for whatever reason sometimes rappers who are blowing up with the same crowd do get coverage by publications and a lot of listens from avid music listeners, regardless of how well they are perceived by the more passionate music listeners (Dababy, Comethazine, Gunna, Young Nudy, Tay K), even when these artists are less popular, and imo have less interesting things going on in their music.

GIVE US WHAT WE WANT AND DO A PATREON PINK FLOYD WORST TO BEST OR TIER LIST

You should listen to bladee more

Colored vinyl is just a gimmick, and i'm okay with that

danilo gondim

Ik im not the melon man lol but I would say the New York scene with Earl, Slauson Malone (standing on the corner), and MIKE, would be at least the first steps toward what I think would be “post hop”

He's certainly an extremely disagreeable asshole but there are videos of him teaching Burzum riffs and he seemed to me to at least be a pretty good black metal guitarist and his songwriting is at times as interesting as some of his contemporaries like Mayhem and Darkthrone look at stuff like Key to the Gate, A Lost Forgotten Sad Spirit, My Journey to the Stars, Turn the Sign of the Microcosm. I think his bullshit opinions about music definitely didn't help his music. I say this as someone who isn't a Burzum fan by any means.

People who dogmatically complain about music theory killing creativity more often than not are just desperately rationalizing because they aren't willing to put in the work to learn it.

and dave grohl wouldnt go on to make one of the most overrated bands in histoy

If Kurt Cobain hadn’t died nobody today would consider any Nirvana album to be a classic.

He said he’d give 36 Chambers a 10

Sebastian Bravo

Piñata is the best album in Madlib's discography. The one thing I'd argue that makes Piñata better than Madvillainy is the fact that the songs and ideas in the album are more fleshed out than Madvillainy. Piñata does have tracks like Watts, Supplier and Scarface but the whole album runs at one hour with 17 tracks where as Madvillainy runs at 22 tracks with 46 minutes. Even though DOOM is a better and more interesting mc, Madvillainy feels like a drag sometimes because none of the individual tracks are long enough to make me feel satisfied

Elliott

Good music is objective. If you listen to the top tracks of an artist on Spotify, and then listen to a lot more of his music, you will almost invariably realize that the top tracks are indeed his best. This suggests that the whole "art is subjective maan" trope is a lie. Roughly speaking, all humans make the same judgement regarding a given track.

RiFF RAFF’s influence in the clout rap scene is under-appreciated. He pioneered the image of clout rap with his wacky persona, zany lyrics, gaudy tattoos, hair, and overall get-up, and deserves more acknowledgement for paving the way for the Lil Pumps and 6ix9ines of the world

Sebastian Bravo

Kawaii bass / kawaii future bass is a genre containing massive amounts of potential, but often falls flat because of uncreative production.

Whenever I listen - or try to listen - to a Swans album start-to-finish, l tend to get "worn out" by the midway point. I still enjoy the songs when I listen chunks at a time, or individually. When it comes to listening to the whole album however, I feel like it becomes tedious unless I'm doing something else. Due to this, I beleive that the length, complexity, and hypnotic nature of the albums can take away from the experience when in high volume in a long period of time. Still fire albums, though.

Scary Monsters by David Bowie is a criminally underrated album and should get a lot more listens than it does. It has interesting ideas and unique sounds that isnt really heard of in the rest of his discography (also bladee is the best artist)

Malibu and Ventura are slightly better than Oxnard

Tough question for you Anthony, In the Aeroplane Over the Sea or The Glow pt 2. I’d personally go with itaots with it’s tighter concept, better instrumentation, and superior songwriting, I will admit that gpt2 is a lot more personal of an album and a bit more heart wrenching. Overall 2 fantastic albums that I believe to both undoubtedly be 10’s. P.S any thoughts on the 2 new bladee songs? As a drainer I loved them lol. Love you man!

Gunna shouldn’t have been on the XXL cover if he wasn’t gonna participate at all. At least Tierra and Blueface did cyphers.

BigBabyBerkis

They are acquaintances and Tabby isn’t getting Joji levels of attention and/or isn’t putting out mind-blowing music which would warrant a Fantano review. Also Tabby hasn’t transcended his YouTube content with his music. He’s in his own shadow so to speak. That’s just my guess though. Maybe he just doesn’t like his music.

logan rowan

Should we be worried about Chance yet regarding his twitter meltdown?

Bodak yellow has an underrated instrumental

Baron Von Bullshit is the best Modest Mouse album

ElephantofDoom

I ruined your night by suggesting a Discord server

Pop 2 has only gotten better with age

pretzels

since you barely acknowledge the existence of most popular metalcore acts, you reviewing albums like sempiternal or the blackest beautiful basically means that they're a 10/10 in their respective genre despite you giving them rather unfavorable reviews

paul's boutique is a 10

i miss gimmicky funny songs in the charts.

Beyoncé’s fanbase ruins beyoncé’s appeal for me and i’m too annoyed to really appreciate her

Quentin Tarantino’s soundtracks on his early movies have aged better than the films themselves due to the political incorrectness of them.

Aiden Ferry

The glow pt. 2 > ITAOTS

If the “game” you’re talking about is the music industry, then Janelle Monáe has beat you teeth-wise by far.

Daniel Johnston is proto bedroom pop

simon

Genre merging on tour lineups, I feel, is a great way to bring in the older crowd/fans & the newer crowd/fans of the artists to possibly "put them onto" the older/newer artist. I remember when I went to go see Guns 'n' Roses & Skrillex, imagine that.

Adrian Vargas

Oasis may have become more commercially successful in America, but Blur was ultimately the better Britpop band. Their early output was quintessential Britpop, while a few of their later albums managed to sound mature and slightly experimental.

Double albums as a full listening experience is basically dead. Having every artist at your fingertips at once instead of buying an album and having to sit with it until you can afford another makes it hard for any artist to stay interesting enough to carry a full double album. The only ones coming out are just cash grabs that bank off getting extra streams knowing their audience won't listen to it front to back

The Letter J

We should get Anthony an upright double bass. Maybe as a donation or a Patreon Goal. A "mexican guitarron" will be nice aswell.

Larry

Nobody should have been excited for the Chance album in the first place. His singles last year were bad, and he has been corny as all hell for quite a while now.

Shanehck

Hero is not OP but is the worst designed Smash Character in the history of the series.

Electric wizard is the most underrated and overrated metal band ever. They have one essential album and everything else is irrelevant

Thomas Mead

playboi carti didnt actually invent music

The Roots and their influence is really understated in the hip hop landscape. You have a GOAT contender in Black Thought as their frontman and incredible musicians in the group that put together amazing and forward thinking instrumentals all across their records. Not every one of their albums have been hits, but they have undeniable classics under their belts such as Things Fall Apart, Illadelph Halflife, and Game Theory. They also put out fantastic material in three different decades, and they don't have a bad album (except maybe their newest one), but it seems like they're most recognized for their spot on Jimmy Fallon's tonight show more than their hip hop career nowadays.

Jake LaMotta

Harsh noise makes all metal sound like preschool singalongs in comparison except for Putrefaction in Progress by Last Days of Humanity, which is borderline a harsh noise album.

Joey Jordison>Jay Weinberg

g4ng

The film Yesterday (2019) shouldn't exist if the writer actually had any insight into the popular music scene and popular music history. At most, it could be a short film where Jack Malik has all the songs but still is a failure because the popular music scene has built itself around the absence of the Beatles music and nobody gives a shit, but still that doesn't make for a totally interesting story so it shouldn't have been made at all

Mark Lombard

Bright Eyes peaked with “Fevers and Mirrors” every album that came before it or afterwards pales in comparison

Professional Record Players sometimes lack features that literally everyone wants just because the designers are pretentious little shits that want me to have to get up in time to stop the record instead of just putting in a stupidly easy auto-stop program that a 40$ teen girl's Victrola has. I wanna be okay falling asleep to my stuff, but if I have to break out a cheaper product to do what I want, why should I invest in these better turntables?

Pop punk is the worst genre to ever be mainstream ever.

The Bruce Faulconer Dragon Ball Z soundtrack is better than the original Japanese one, but it's used way too much (literally all the time) and becomes annoying and obnoxious after binge-watching sessions. So watching DBZ with the original Japanese is a better experience.

g4ng

you gotta be honest, you're not really here trying to say you wouldn't want short hair zappa to slide into your dms

Aphex Twin and Nicholas Jaar should be regarded as some of the greatest most influential classical composers of all time and should be up there with Beethoven, Mozart, Bach, Chopin, etc.

Bobby Vlasic

Pretty hot, but Philosophy Of The World outdoes both

Burn Rubber is just pride month Purple Lamborghini.

frank zappa with short hair > frank zappa with long hair

Kidz Bop writers are lyrical geniuses

Playlists with a variety of music types offer a more complete and authentic music experience than those with only rap, pop, rock, etc.

We have to be in a simulation if we live in a world where Donald Trump tweets about talking to Kanye about freeing A$AP Rocky

Christian Lenard

the fact that you dont give Tabby's music more shine is upsetting because at this moment he's the only artist making enjoyable music with a lot of potential to come out from this whole youtube rap scene

A

Kenny Loggins is better than Christopher Cross

Kameron Martinez

Will Toledo is one of the best modern songwriters

And artists can release them more often

Sebastian Bravo

Do you think short albums will become a trend in the future? I personally feel that they make for an easier & enjoyable listen.

I....agree!

Christian Lenard

While The Beach Boys' experimental and psychedelic work after Pet Sounds (Wild Honey, Friends, Surf's Up, Sunflower, Holland, Love You, etc.) may not be as culturally important as the surf rock era, they are easily better — and it's not close

James Burky

Lifestylez ov da Poor and Dangerous by Big L is a 10/10

Sebastian Bravo

Brockhampton’s style of wacky and crazy, yet emotional and serene, hip hop will be the sound of mainstream rap (at least in the first half) of the 20’s decade. It has a mainstream appeal in the hooks and beats, they’re fun and energetic, but still hit you in the feels. iridescence hitting #1 I think is a MAJOR sign of this shift coming! I can see them being like Kanye was to rappers in the first part of the 10’s

lowkeymatt

Viva la Vida is Coldplay’s best album

Now I Wanna Be Your Dog by Iggy and the Stooges is the best love song of all time. Of all time!

Radio is going to outlast cable television

New (experimental) Muse is worse than old Muse, although their music wasn't for everyone, it was still better than their recent (failed) ventures into electronic and synth

Ishraq

The UK is way better at rock music than the US

Burzum's lame ass Norse music past-Fantano boycott shows that he might not've been a talented black metal artist, but a lucky one.

We are living in times where pioneering spirit of music as an art form can coexist & even thrive despite corporate packaged content being more accessible than ever before.

Barun Chanda

The groups of fans who demand artists owe it to them to play their biggest songs live are stupid, fans should support artists to help create their own live show that they are proud of/enjoy performing and be happy about that rather than apply pressure that leads to creative burnout.

If you don’t do a 2 million subscribers special episode you’re trash!!

Calvin Michael

Do you think society and the media think that music such as rap, metal, and things such as death metal have an influence on teens and young kids to qoute "rotten their brain" or do you think society has changed over the years and the majority of people don't think that anymore?

Logan Johns

Hot take: My Teenage Dream Ended is better than Trout Mask Replica. Especially when looking at it from an Avant-Garde perspective.

Anthrax are criminally underrated. They were a pioneering band in the thrash genre, putting out classics like Spreading the Disease and Among the Living, and they are still putting out killer thrash albums

Adam mezzarone

Bad production often ruins black metal insteed of adding to it.

You should grow your hair out again. I think you look quite handsome with it grown out

Buddy Sweathole

Iowa is more disturbing and harrowing than people give it credit for. Tracks like Iowa itself, skin ticket, 515, and especially the first 45 seconds of people=shit display a seriously twisted level of gruesome extremity that a lot of extreme metal acts would only dream of doing, which is especially thanks to Joey Jordison's and Corey Taylor's amazing peformances. After all, it's not only a nu metal album, it's also a death metal album. It just gets shit on because it's Slipknot. (P.S. Im not saying Slipknot is an extreme metal act, I'm saying a lot of extreme metal acts don't top how nasty this album is.

Pol

It is not a "hipster" move to purchase cassettes and records even if you are using a low quality player like a Crosley purchased from an Urban Outfitters. It seems unfair to call someone out for wanting to listen to music using physical media , and it seems even more unfair to gate keep someone from being a "real" music fan unless they spend hundreds or thousands of dollars on a hobby. Not to mention buying records and cassettes can be a great way to support smaller artist via bandcamp, or their personal website. In an area where earning money in the music industry has never been more complicated the community should encourage these purchases.

Seinfeld

TOOL makes the best music videos of any metal band. Ex. Prison Sex, parabola, sober, etc

Dick D. Johnson

Jeff Rosenstock's earlier stuff with Bomb the Music Industry! and The Arrogant Sons of Bitches are gems of ska punk and should be regarded as such.

White Rap has devolved to simply aping 2010 Eminem

carsausage

The Wall is the best concept album ever. American Idiot and The Black Parade only wish they could enter the Walls glory and immense storytelling. Not only is it the best concept album, but I'd say its one of if not the greatest and most spectacular album of all time.

superdude75561

running/lifting to sad music is like a hard-mode for working out

haughty garbage

Ok we all know some of Muse's more recent output has been pretty disappointing, but I'd love to know how you would rate Origin Of Symmetry and Absolution. Personally they are 2 of my favourite rock albums of the 2000s.

J Dilla was a better producer than Kanye.

Africa Speaks is Santana’s best album in decades

Señor C

Runaway is the new bohemian rhapsody

Dark side of the moon is pink floyds worst album in their progressive phase. It's songwriting is week for the most part, its lyricism isnt as provocative as animals, WYWH, the wall, etc. and the instrumentation isnt anywhere near meddle or any other album by them. The only thing it has going for it is production, but without a solid songwriting base, the production doesnt excel. Money isnt even all that interesting as a song in 7/4.

Brendan

Ian MacKaye is one of the greatest musicians of all time and his contributions to punk are practically unrivaled.

An album having a booklet or other media associated with it can increase the significance of an album. While they are not essential to enjoy the record, albums like Deathconsciousness and Giles Corey mean more (at least to me) because of their respective booklets, both of which tie into the album and vice versa.

Adam Washington

The self-titled debut is Zeppelin's best album

TechnoGatsby

DJ Mr Music from the Good Place is unironically better than most of the EDM that got big during the peak in 2014

Foxx Navarro

LCD Soundsystems music, despite being dance music, isn't good for parties. Their songs take too long to build up and by the time they get good the people listening have already lost interest and want something else

SSX Tricky had the best video game soundtrack of all time

Roan Blanchard

TV on the Radio was the best band of the naughties.

Kevin Marcellus Horan

Being vegan, recycling, reducing waste, etc. are great, but they are ultimately ineffectual unless paired with some sort of political collective action, and ultimately may serve the Neoliberal narrative that it’s the consumer’s responsibility to fix large scale problems, not government holding corporations accountable.

Ethan Hastings

Frank Ocean predicted this entire decade of hip hop when he said "don't you know the vibe's just as fly as the rhyme" on Oldie.

yasir y khaleq

If "In League With Dragons" hadn't been falsely marketed as being thematically centered around imagery from fantasy and tabletop RPGs, it would have been better received and a lot less of a disappointment.

FACTS

Foxx Navarro

Saying Igor is better than Flower Boy is the same as saying Pinkerton is better than Blue.

logan rowan

To what extent does bad production on an album take away from the album itself? Something like The Pod by Ween has absolutely abhorrent production but is one of my favorite records due to the song writing and it just being a bizzare look into the mindset of Mononucleosis. I'd like to hear your opinion on this melon.

kitfistofangirl

A Jay Rock/Kendrick album would work better than Cole/Kendrick

Regarding The Black Keys, I think Turn Blue is better than Brothers (& El Camino, for sure).

Hopsin is a pioneer of the now very popular emo rap genre

Winger is not as bad as people think they are, especially if ignore all their power ballads.

Zachary F Parker

(possibly) Tough question: Why did you give The Big Day a strong 0 instead of just a 0? Considering that you gave SB2H just a 0. And with 0 being the end of your scale, it makes sense that it wouldn't have any qualifiers (same applies for the 10s, which haven't gotten a light, decent, or strong either).

Owen W

If he keeps it up, YBN Cordae will go down as a better version of J. Cole

Country Rap will be the defining genre of the 2020's and end the political divide in America.

Despite being one of the most iconic beat switches of the modern era, I believe the Pyramids beat switch is superior to the Nights beat switch. If you take the narrative of both tracks, and the transition itself into the second half, Pyramids really follows the weight of the track better than Nights.

A lot of the “new” hate The Beatles are getting doesn’t come from the fact that they’re overrated, but rather that they are mislabeled. The way people talk about The Beatles, you would expect this mind-bending perspective altering masterpiece when you go to listen to a Beatles album, which isn’t really the case. What you could is a track list jam-packed with tight, well crafted pop songs (for the most part, they can get a little more “out there”) which is very impressive in its own right. I feel that if more people talked about the Beatles this way and not as the saviors of music, they wouldn’t get quite as much hate in this current generation.

A whole lot of dubstep and brostep was genuinely good dance music for the era and the future will look back on it more kindly than we do now

Matt Jones

I love music has the right to children but geogaddi is the best Boards Of Canada album.

Shumma12

Even though they sound completely different, Talk Talk is the closest thing we've had to the Beatles since the Beatles.

Andre 3000 is the best in the feature game rn

Crash Team Racing is superior to Mario Kart.

Trap music is dying slowly

Jonny Greenwood's work on film soundtracks is greatly underappreciated. His works on films like There Will Be Blood, The Master, and You Were Never Really Here is on par if not better than most of his work with Radiohead

Omar AlHashmi

Jazz Rap is the best subgenre of Hip Hop. The instrumentals are very unique, and combined with creative lyricism it is the most enjoyable subgenre to listen to.

Les Claypool is better outside of Primus. The Lennon Claypool Delirium and Colonel Claypool's Bucket of Bernie Brains are amazing super jam bands whereas Primus only really stuck around because of MTV (and a few utter bangers).

Office Policy

American Idiot is a great concept album that tells a captivating story throughout and features some of Bills Joe Armstrong’s best songwriting.

Water (the drink) embodies the power of simplicity

Music can actually be so bad it becomes good again.

Marcus Can't Dance

In terms of consistency I don’t know a rapper who does it better than Kendrick, when you go from sec 80 to GKMC to TPAB to DAMN I would say that says something considering damn is most likely the weakest of the bunch and still holds up with some great beats, a clear message and themes, along with quality rapping and that can be said at a higher degree when you look at the other albums

Zach S

Chris Brown being a piece of garbage aside. He’s not very talented musically. He’s garbage at writing songs and his voice isn’t very good. He became famous because he was a 16 year old Industry pant who would dance and sing.

Grandadywasaplaya
