Pythagorus was the first person to suggest the idea that the earth wasn't flat but Aristotle was the first one to provide any evidence. He noticed the shape of the earth's shadow on the moon during a Lunar eclipse.

After Augustus conquered Egypt, Rome established ports along the Red Sea and traded with India through settlements they established along the Indian West Coast. Spices, iron, steel, and cloth came from India, along with a few plagues. Everything has a downside. The diseases that traveled along the trade routes were a major factor in the eventual fall of Rome. Covid was nothing compared to what smallpox did to the Roman Empire.

"Romans never conquered Scotland though."
That just about sums it up. Those mighty warriors that stomped their way through most of Europe got to the Scottish people, had a few goes, said "Fuck it, we'll wall that bit off." and called it a day.
As for flat earth, it was Galileo who disproved that if I remember correctly. At least 1500 years later!

I've said before, you need to watch some Wallace & Gromit. As soon as QB has time for a movie around Christmas, get her to watch some with you and then Paddington. Barely any of it made, more shorts than feature length but still a beloved British Claymation.
'A grand day out'
'A close shave'
'The wrong trousers'
'Curse of the Were-rabbit'
'A matter of loaf and death'. Etc.

This is a fun one. While I wouldn' t put series 10 on par with the best of Red Dwarf from the early years It is a big return to form all the same.

You've never heard of Wallace & Gromit?! Seriously, please watch and/or react to some of that. The Wrong Trousers is a good start. It's gentle all-ages comedy but it's proper old-school plasticine animation and it's incredibly well done.

This episode is my favourite of series 10. I do have to look past the fact that the people in India spoke English when the language didn't even exist in 23 AD (it's a mix of celtic and various other old languages from Roman, Saxon, Viking and Norman invaders developed over time but I digress). Jesus having a geordie accent and being fascinated by bags was funny and the joke about killing Wallace and Gromit because of Christmas no longer existing was great and I'm sad it went over your head.

No that refers to the four winds which blow from N S E and W which there are four overall directions of. Isaiah 40-42 “ He who sit above the circle of the earth”. Ecclesiastes 1:6 The wind blows to the south and goes around to the North, around and around goes the wind. And many more

I'm not interested in Pre-Roman Britain, myself. So little is known about it because of the lack of written records. If I had a time machine, that's one of the eras I'd like to check out.

Did a quick search on Google and apparently the Romans did go to India. So maybe? I only had a cursory glance.

Lemons are better than potatoes... as long as you have something like copper, lemons would produce some voltage.. but 1 volt and series them to 8 volts, sure.... You'd need a bag of lemons or a couple or bags of hundreds to provide the power for anything more than a LED-bulb. ;)
