The Inbetweeners REWATCH S1 Ep1 "First Day" REACTION!

The unexpected joy I got from rewatching this was similar to going to see your favorite sports team play a live game.

The Inbetweeners REWATCH S1 Ep1 "First Day" REACTION!

Comments

Greg Davies (The Head of 6th Form) does a stand up set about nicknames from school. You should check that out if you haven’t already.

Lewis Green

so glad the inbetweeners reactions are starting on patreon!! also, in the UK we all had to wear school uniforms, in any school!

Havana Donaldson

Simon's Dad (elsewhere in the series): "She used to have an incredible appetite for it. Incredible" Other references made to her sex drive in other episodes and in the first film as well I think :) Not in Will's Mum's league for me, but still a naughty (formerly) sex hungry MILF who used to like it loads back in the day.

Oliver

great rewatch you 2!πŸ‘ŒπŸ˜‚πŸ’œ

Adam Hale

and "the nonce" you referred you is also one of the leads in Phoneshop!!πŸ‘€πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈπŸ‘πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ’œ

Adam Hale

the bartender is also great as a lead (with Simon's dad!)in the criminally under-rated "Phoneshop" which I think you'd LOVE!πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈπŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ’œπŸ’œ

Adam Hale

"a baggage themed insult, thanks mum" does me every timeπŸ‘ŠπŸ€·β€β™‚οΈπŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ’œ

Adam Hale

Seriously agree.

R Lawrence

Sandhurst, yes πŸ™‚

Matt Kent

Sixth form is just an alternative to college where you do your A levels or diploma at your secondary school for two years. Not all secondary schools have them, but most do. I never saw the appeal myself, as they offer far less choice of curriculum, and who the hell wants to stay at secondary school even longer?

Relyx

Isn't the school in Man Down the same school he taught at?

Relyx

Oh you x Can you get rid of the c***s who think the universe revolves around them? That would be lovely mate. :)

Phil Robinson

@Isaac Steele - Sick of this shit. This is an Inbetweeners reaction. You go and do something else while you're waiting for Fresh Meat. KB is not your plaything.

Phil Robinson

singular i believe ... when am i not lol

Craig McCulloch

Most schools in the UK have uniforms, not just private ones - or strangely "public schools" as they are called!

Gary B

Make Callie watch red dwarf

Showboat

I’m

Matthew Summers

It's no exaggeration that school in the UK can be pretty brutal. If you're unlucky it can be a real ordeal

James Aston

No way you think jay and neil went to a private school 😭😭

Jordan D

So glad you decided to go back to this guys. This for me is a right of passage of growing up in the UK. The show was never meant to be as big as it was it was made on a budget on a third choice TV channel at the time and it absolutely blew up and became massive! This is a timeless classic for years to come

DJ RJ

Think you might mean Foundation's by Kate Nash πŸ‘

Jamie Monaghan

Great video!

Dean Carter

yep Phoneshop is a slept on CLASSIC!!πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈπŸ‘πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ’œ

Adam Hale

yeh if you like Simon's dad you have to do Phoneshop,it's a straight classic and he's a main character and Brilliant!!πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈπŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ’œ

Adam Hale

another one for the CLASSIC Phoneshop!!!πŸ‘ŒπŸ˜‚πŸ’œ

Adam Hale

There’s so many other good shows, it dosent have the impact as the original reaction.

Louise Miller

I know I watch them regularly but the releasing the rewatch might bring more to patreon for that very reason

Jordan Dempster

She was ebeneezer scrooges childhood sweetheart in the muppets Christmas carol

Jordan Dempster

Yes they're great. I know it's easy to give him stick for ratting everyone out in the pub, but he isn't wrong, is he? I'm kind of on his side a little bit cos I like people pointing out double standards and hypocrisy. The landlord knows all these kids are underage, Will's just pointing out the obvious. That said, there is something called "reading the room" as well :)

Oliver

Yeh was the one where they go to the campsite and that party in a hut. Some funny AF bits in that one that should have them both creasing up again. This is gona be a fun couple of months going thru them all again!

Oliver

He already did them all on YT about two years ago (check the playlists on his channel), still funny but had to be heavily edited cos of YT's killjoy rules which kind of spoiled some episodes as some of the best parts had to be cut out. So it's gotta be Patreon to get full episodes in.

Oliver

Well done King/Queen/Princess Boomer that was a jolly good watch which i had with some lovely Yorkshire tea and a small table spoon of organic honey...nice sunny morning here in Wicklow Ireland

SEAN

When I get to it

Brian Moran

fresh meat?

Isaac Steele

Don’t know what this says about me, but Simon’s mum is a proper naughty milf. I think she’s fitter than Will’s mum lol

Sam Dilks

Upload to YouTube for the folks who don’t have patreon it might entice others to come over to here, glad your rewatching this gem and hopefully we get the third movie or atleast something in the future

Jordan Dempster

Everyone wears a uniform. The UK is not federal so there are no "states" or "provinces".

Grady Parsons

Fruit machines are gambling games usually found in pubs.

Adam Grant

Stalk on Booms! 🀣

Rob webber

BONER! 😁😁😁

Rob webber

Now you might remember why people were asking 'and did you put the balls in?' when you announced QB was pregnant on a livestream lol

LyingSecret

Mr Gilbert (Greg Davies) was my drama teacher in year 7. He used to come back and visit the school every year while they were filming this.

Matt Kent

Did you know you when you watched the movie it wasn’t the one that had extra scenes in?

Craig

I've just realised that the landlord in the second pub is Ian Buckles from Line of Duty! And I must have seen this like 20 times by now...

Alex P

Wills rants are legendary

garry donaldson

the bartender whos in after life is also in Phoneshop, a show which im praying you react to one day

J

King and Queen Boomer i'm Scottish and i can confirm that in the vast majority of schools you had to wear a school uniform.

garry donaldson

Please do all of them again

Sean

Yesssss

Craig Day

Car Share's bound to happen sooner or later, as KB liked both the other shows Peter did. Motherland's a good below the radar shout though.

Z is for Zed

Queen Boomer said in another video that this was the only episode she never saw, but going through the old video edits, there was another one in the middle that she didn't see either, it was definitely KingB on his own.

LyingSecret

Keeping up appearances is a good shout too

Paul Hughes

Michael Park-in-bum

Jake Simms

as queen boomer is here you should have reacted to only fools and horses

Paul Finn

This seems like a great choice for your core audience, but as someone who enjoys following your journey through British culture, I’d love to see you and Callie react to shows like Derry Girls, Motherland, Fleabag, Episodes, Mum, Home, and Car Share. These broad-appeal series would be fantastic for both of you to engage with, and I think they'd help expand your channel’s reach beyond your current core audience. Most reactors in your niche are men or boys, and your channel stands out as a unique couple’s perspective. Aside from Mandy, there aren’t many female-led channels, so I believe there's great potential for you to grow further by exploring these popular shows. I'd love to see your channel thrive!

Jason Bonner

I’m hoping he’s holding Green Wing back for a QB reaction. That one will be fun.

Julian T

I went to state school in Kent, which I'm pretty sure is where this is set so this takes me back 20 years. Nostalgia

Jehan Ariyaratnam

Yeah we do all wear uniform to school regardless of private or state schools. Private schools tend to have even more formal uniforms, Eton collars etc. I went to a state school, and we had a uniform from year 7-11, but for 6th form (year 12 and 13), we were allowed to wear our own suits. Watching high school kids in casual clothes on an American tv show has always been a novelty.

Jehan Ariyaratnam

The bartender that you commented on is a main character in phone shop along with Simon's dad. You might like it if you fancy an insight into South London. It's not everyone's cup of tea.

Rebecca Musson

Harold shit mom

Brian Moran

Agreed!!!

neonlucy

Fucking long dong silver πŸ˜‚

chickenslayer1

You need to bring queen boomer into the gavin and stacey reactions, I think she will appreciate the love story and drama side of the show

Dave Jones

The bar man was a main character in the phone shop, another underrated brilliant show!

MarkC

Looking forward to the eventual Only Fools rewatch with QB

Kieran B

Yeah, that's them, cheers. It's easy to at least look up THAT song though, because they let it play long enough to hear the lyrics. Still don't know what the piano based song is.

Joe Thornhill

Fruit Machine or Fruity is a slot machine. The fruit name comes from when you spin it pictures of fruit come up. I'm sure its similar in the US that if you land on three grapes or three oranges on them you get the jackpot

David Ridley

Fruit machine is a slot machine, gambling is legal everywhere here so slot machines have been a mainstay of pubs for decades

Kieran B

I went to see my favourite sports team play the other day. I'd hope rewatching the Inbetweeners is more enjoyable than watching them snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

Charlie

I've watched this about 100 times, so here goes to 101 🀣

Dan

The end song is The Libertines

Jamie

In England we don't call it public school we call it state school, public school means the opposite, literally a school that members of the public pay for their children privately to go to, ie Will used to be in public school (private), now he goes to state school (or 6th form which sort of follows it for a year or something, I never went to it so I don't know, always thought it was a bit weird but also weirdly i don't think 6th formers do wear a uniform i don't think they had to in my school). But all schools in England require a uniform.

R Lawrence

Been waiting for this, it's this show which first made me subscribe to you on YT so finally getting them on Patreon is brilliant, Feisty one you are!!!

Mark Jones

I watched the Inbetweeners years ago when it aired but I didn't fully appreciate it until I watched your reactions. Sometimes things are better second time around.

Mike Currie

Looking forward to re-watching them again :):)

UK Zezima

It's Sixth Form, not high school.

Martyn Dawson

Thank you King and Queen Boomer. A real, unexpectedly early, treat !! πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

South Coast Rich

I suppose you're not one for music as much as faces because you haven't mentioned (or at least mocked) that the end song is the same one that's been in Gavin & Stacey 100 times already. And that The Inbetweeners also love using just the piano intro of the other song. That's why I still can't remember what it's called or who wrote it.

Joe Thornhill

It's true, my school was exactly like this. I think it's why it was such a big show.. Everyone connected to it. The only difference for me is that the pubs here never asked for ID but I'm in Ireland lol

CONALL MCLAUGHLIN

Fab! Loved the re-watch and QB's 1st viewing. She looked a bit shocked at times. πŸ˜‚

Jason Scade

What a delight. I wasn't expecting this for another couple of years at least. This is gona be fun. Great to see you Boomers enjoying it so much again as well.

Oliver

Will be great to rewatch this unedited now it’s on patreon

Dave

Wasn't sure about this, but it turned out to be a lot of fun! Think it might boost your Patreon membership a bit too, so all's good. (Mods should be on standby...)

Phil Robinson

Oh yes, made my day this

Jay Lo

Province?!? No, Boomer, we call them counties which have Boroughs in them. You really need to learn more about the UK if you ever wanna come visit.

Joe Thornhill

I can't wait to watch this bro, the thing is with these shows (inbetweeners, peep show, it crowd etc) is that their rewatchability is unmatched, it's never not funny, i've watched the inbetweeners god knows how many times, and yet it feels like christmas now that I get to rewatch you rewatch it, enjoy brother.

LiamShaer7

Kingsley's origin story

L M

Excited for this seen all first reactions but its a show u can watch iver nad over

Craig Burns

Also if a school has a Sixth/7th Form (16 to 18 year olds) they often have a different uniform code to distinguish them from the younger, legally-obliged to attend kids. It tends to be a more relaxed atmosphere in the Sixth form i.e they have a common/leisure room where they sit-out in between classes and they are not legally-obliged to attend every day. They can just turn up for their particular class even if it starts later in the day and go home whenever a class finishes.

Fordy7169

Also, "public schools" in the UK are in fact private schools so it gets confusing lol.

BigChanChan

The vast majority of UK state schools stipulate that you have to wear a uniform... It's supposed to help combat stigma, pressure on parent's to keep up with fashion and brands and also bullying of poorer kids who can't afford to wear the latest trends!

BigChanChan

6th form is like college 16-18 but at a school with 12-16 yr olds also there, i don't know why anyone would do that and not college unless it's a Grammar school with a good rep. I don't know anyone that was sad to see the back of school.

emu cat

Can’t wait for this.its like Birthday, Christmas and New Year all in one haha

Graham Goldberg

I'm not sure if this is the right place to mention it but is there any chance you can also add a Google Drive link or similar... I go abroad a lot on holidays and trips and yours is the only Patreon reaction channel that I can't download videos from to be able to watch on the plane or when I'm travelling overseas and I'd love to be able to do that with these Inbetweeners reactions!

BigChanChan

It's funny how small the difference in drinking ages is but what a huge it has on culture. Our school used to have socials at local venues for the Sixth Form where 18 year olds could buy booze. Inevitably they just bought drinks for the 16-17year olds lol. Our Prom had a bar too. Judging by US TV that seems unthinkable over there

Rach

So happy you are rewatching this πŸ‘πŸ»

Ian β€˜Flinty’ Flintham

I can understand why a few people might be annoyed with a repeat viewing, but one assumes that everyone tuning in for these reactions has also seen it before. Probably more recently than KB has if you're going out looking for reactions...

Z is for Zed

We weren’t quite that relaxed. I think Sixth Form we got away with wearing more relaxed stuff but genuinely don’t remember what we wore πŸ˜‚ it might have been non-uniform but I don’t think it was quite that far. We were allowed to leave school when we didn’t have lessons though

Kieran B

That’s pretty swish. Our main building was about 120 years old (most of the other buildings were built in the 60s I think) but the original building has been a museum for a while. This was a state school as well, although it was a grammar school before I went there

Kieran B

The only good thing about wetherspoons is the price of beer. Sadly apart from there you'll rarely find a pint for less than Β£5. Β£8 in London is the norm.

Tim Phillipson

I hated the uniforms. Ties are the work of Satan.

Z is for Zed

The scene when will tried to order a pint, and was told he can't order food with a pint without an adult, why didn't they just pretend Jay was the adult, his ID technically already worked, would have saved them money lol, I guess maybe will gave it away that jay was underage but then why didn't the barkeep say something lol

Daniel Colton

Same. We got away with wearing black denim jeans in year 10 and 11. I went to a school that ended at year 11. I think all schools go through to year 13 now though.

ThetaSigmaTheOriginal

My school house was named after James Barrie, the Scottish author who wrote Peter Pan. I went to school in the same village he did, albeit 120 years after. Not the same school though. That no longer existed by the time I went to primary school in the 1990s

ThetaSigmaTheOriginal

I'm digging the name and profile pic. \m/

ThetaSigmaTheOriginal

so true, i used to go out with Β£20, have a few in spoons, then entry fee to a club, drinks in there and a kebab lol. today would just about to a pint and kebab lol

The Everything Guy

Technically, they're not mandatory. There's no government policy regarding school uniforms. They've just sort of become the norm. Although not universal. Apparently, 10% of schools don't have a uniform as part of their dress code.

ThetaSigmaTheOriginal

Fruit machine is what we call our slot machines. Because they have fruit as symbols, still do actually. And 7's for some reason.

Tim Phillipson

That’s why I’m pro uniform. All kids are equals because they’re all dressed the same. Poor kids aren’t pointed out so easily.

MetalRocksMe 🀘☠️

Oh we weren’t allowed to but people tried to get away with it as long as they could. I’m not sure it was quite as harsh as detention for doing so, I was boring and always wore it properly

Kieran B

Uniforms can get expensive especially for multiple offspring, but at least kids are dressed the same. Less chance for better off children to lord it over those with no name brands and charity shop (good will) attire.

Gareth

My school was really strict on uniform, detention if your shirt was untucked, tie too short etc. glad you're rewatching this tho my fave show

Jordan D

Now you're watching Inbetweeners & Fresh meat at the same time we simultaneously get to see Simon / Kingsley's journey through High school, college and uni - And if White Gold gets introduced at some point you'll come full circle and get to see him as a dodgy window salesmen πŸ˜‚

ryung246

The most unbelievable thing about this episode is how many pints they can buy with Β£20. I think pints are like 8 quid now in some places. But this was 20 years ago.

ThetaSigmaTheOriginal

Good news, Callie only appeared on ep 3 on YouTube, so maybe she hasn't seen the wonderful episode 2 yet neither

bobbyshaftowenttosea

Technically it’s Middle and High School combined - we call them Secondary Schools, the main cast are high school age though as they’re doing A-levels, the last 2 years from 17-18

Kieran B

I have to admit, I was a gel boy, but in the 1990s, and when I was younger than these guys. By the 00s, I was off of the stuff. 🀣

ThetaSigmaTheOriginal

Wearing ties in β€˜creative’ ways was definitely a thing

Kieran B

Fantastic πŸ‘

Phil Gilbert

This has made my fucking year man! I have waited so long for this rewatch it’s what made me start to love watching your stuff !! So excited. This made me so happy when you first started all that time ago after a hard days work!! Very happy chap :)

Callum

Omg yes!

mypetzebra

he is only 6'2 .πŸ™„ giant...

Craig McCulloch

not every thing can be a home run . I mod this channel and Ive watched 1 episode or Fresh meat .πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

Craig McCulloch

Yes Boomer!

Sam Harvey

I literally just clicked on your 2nd movie reaction when I see the notification for this. I've never acted so fast in my life

Fyrealis

Yeah pretty much every school has a uniform here, mine even had four Houses named after former students over its 500+ year history - one of the many things lots of Americans think is a Harry Potter thing but really is just British

Kieran B

Boom here we go!!!

Callum

We all wore uniforms in secondary (high) school. It sucked!

Beccy

Great that you’re rewatching these. I wouldn’t like to think how many times I’ve watched the Inbetweeners through

Jonroon93

We do all wear uniforms to school. Public and state school. I am pro uniform

MetalRocksMe 🀘☠️

Yay! So glad you're doing this ❀️

Beccy

it comes full circle... yeah school uniforms are mandatory in England ... so to not have bullying about clothes etc (and generate school funds) .... So naturally been the resourceful bunch we are - we would take the piss out of foot wear, school bags and pencil cases if they were cheap... and in case I sound like a bully... I was poor AF growing up haha

Craig McCulloch

I think it's 90% of schools in England that have a uniform as part of their dress code. I think their school's supposed to be a average state school. Not a wealthy private one.

ThetaSigmaTheOriginal

Really looking forward to these! 😁πŸ₯°

Jae Allana

Nope ..not for me

Jan sutton

Never boring you giant muppet πŸ˜…

Tim Salt (Tim Salt Writes)

So happy you’re re-doing these 😊

Chris Garratt

I’m not disappointed about this. Top telly is inbetweeners πŸ™‚β€β†”οΈ

MetalRocksMe 🀘☠️

This has made my day! Tried watching other reactors watch this but they just don’t get it like you do! It was The Inbetweeners reactions that made me find your channel!

Stephen Prothero

That intro πŸ’€πŸ’€ We wear uniform in a public school all over the UK

Rebecca Bailey

Never gets boring.

Phoenix

Top G

Rhys Jones

Ohh yesss i love this notification
