This is an odd show lol.

I did too. He’s a total twat. I’ve met him briefly. Ugh.

Michelle Pearce — PSBFAN1991

Put it this way Boomer: The first 3 episodes are scored below 8/10 on IMDB, where as basically all the rest are around 8 1/2. Not saying IMDB is the gospel of good or bad at all, but it is pretty good when it comes to episode ratings, as you generally get the same people reviewing all the episodes, and you get a decent idea of the consensus among fans.

Relyx

Shame Ur not digging it mate, it does get better, but maybe the comedy style isn't your cup of tea?

Dan Smith

Sorry Chrises....i say pudding like that.

Dannythedoodle

I can. Only his voice is familiar.

Joe Thornhill

Can’t believe I recognised David Walliams as Vulva.

Julian T

Oh, Boomer, Suzi Quatro was a real cutie singer/bassist in the 70's. Check out 'Devil gate drive' and 'Can the can'.

Joe Thornhill

Shooting zombies, "Beet us to death with a pool cue", Shaun of the dead was always going to happen. It must've been marinating in Edgar Wright's mind for years.

Joe Thornhill

I tried when first aired and never clicked with it, mostly the same now but I did love still game as someone earlier said they disliked both, so just shows how different we all are in what fits with us.. you don’t know until you try! (Cough , murmur.. the smoking room!). Thanks for the reaction as always!

MarkC

KB will love the next episode. This arty one is basically a rant against performance art. I think there was more hate expressed by the writers than humour. I didn't really find it as funny as the other episodes. I know that he will end up really liking this show.

Bruce Bowden

Love it!

Steve Oxley

Inspired a great film, but always found this one of the worst episodes. None of the first 3 are that great tbh.

John

Just wait till Peter Serafinowicz appears, especially in the paint-balling episode. This episode was mocking the modern art performers who sprang up in the nineties. Oh, I almost forgot. You'll love the robot wars episode.

Bruce Bowden

Man I luv this show, so glad your watching it. Yes it's off the wall but it's still funny as hell with it.

Paul Kaye (Hoover) is ace alongside James Buckley in TV series Zapped

Albanacher

guys fordy don't like it its time to wrap it up/

alexmiller

My favourite is in series 2 "Gone".

Chris

Also spaced out and seeing things because of the speed he's taken on top of the lack of sleep and booze

Chris

Mike dresses like a commando because he used to be in the TA or territorial army. It's our army reserve made up of part time soldiers. He wanted to be in the real army but couldn't get in. You find out why eventually . Also why he isn't in the TA anymore

Chris

Also... This rewards multiple viewings... So many subtle jokes and funny visual references get missed

Chris

It's a Chris thing. I'm calling it.

Chris Beaumont

If you don't get the humour in this then you're beyond help. It's both subtle and also staring you right in the face .

Chris

Haha.. same... I always say pudding like that

Chris

I like every part of the episode, apart from the David Walliams/art theatre scenes. I always found him and them a bit annoying. Never skip any Spaced episodes, but I'd probably agree that this is my least favourite.

Jay

There are a couple of duff episodes but this is the worst by an absolute mile, it's the only one that I'll skip every time.

Chris H

To this day if someone says 'you came!' or anything similar I'll respond with 'no, I just spilled my drink'. Also, 'PUDDING' at every conceivable mention of pudding. I'm quite annoying.

Chris Beaumont

It is very funny, it's just a different kind of humour. You seem to have very similar tastes as KB, as you don't get along with Spaced or Still Game. I did mention a few times to people requesting Spaced, that it doesn't really translate very well for American audiences, and I always thought that the type of subtle comedy wouldn't really fit with KB's sense of humour. After KB reacted positvely to Phoenix Nights I was prepared to be proved wrong, but unfortunately I think my previous thoughts might be right.

Jay

KB, it's OK for comedy to be a bit weird and have popular culture references but it's also an advantage to be humorous. Which this isn't to me. I'm getting 'Still Game' levels of unfunniness.

Fordy7169

Next episode is an absolutely cracking one.

Jay

To be fair this is by far the weirdest episode, and one that turned a lot of people off. The next episode is the first truly great one and I think you'll really like it, especially as it has more Mike and a few other elements that you'll enjoy.

Jay

Pursavere with it

Mike Doel

Ok I have tried with this before and never git past episode 3, I will keep going

Mark Jephson

It hasn’t just got Simon Pegg in, he wrote it (with Jessica / Daisy). There are a huge amount of pop culture references in but it’s easy to miss them

Kieran B

Stick with it please. I've watched it hundreds of times but still be good to watch it along with you're reactions. As a big resident evil fan as a kid I loved this episode.

Daniel Monney

One of the great things about the show is it included so much popular culture of the day, it was very relatable for many when it was first broadcast. Fine Art became a bit of a discussion point throughout the 90's and Britpop era, normal people on the street could even name a few contemporary artists, the Turner Art Prize became a yearly discussion point, sure it was mostly people mocking and pointing saying what a pile of sh!t, but it was being discussed all the same, now normal business has resumed and no one gives a rats ass about art again, which as an artist myself, is nice! 🤣

Mark Jones

wait till you get to the "american psycho reference", such brilliance!

Industrialist2015ofUk

I think it picks up after the first 3 There’s a lot of subtle jokes that you’ll possibly get on a second viewing Tim’s been laying Resident Evil for about 36 hours so he’s tripping a bit, i think this is peak weirdness for the series

Kieran B

Not sure if you've seen David Walliams (Vulva) in anything else yet (such as Little Britain), but Paul Kaye (Hoover) played Ricky Gervais's psychiatrist in After Life :)

David Lyons

Yeah it's definitely an 'experimental' show - It doesn't quite live up to the hilarity of the cornetto trilogy but it's still a funny show once it gets going

ryung246

IMDB is opinion of course, but what you've seen so far is their 3 lowest rated episodes. Maybe you'll enjoy it more as time goes on?

Z is for Zed

It was this episode the triggered the concept of Shaun of the Dead

Jon O'Dell

Oh KB, 1999 was a very odd messed up time lol, no wonder all those who watched this originally are all into muppetry now 😂

Jaxon's Jerseys

I shit you not, you posted this the very SECOND I got to the credits on episode 2. Guess I'm not moving for another half hour
