I like this show, but it's not a very quotable show that's for sure. A lot of it's humour is based on action and cinematography (which is why it's no surprise Edgar Wright's career took off like it did). Green Wing and Dark Place are similar in that regard, except they do also have some very funny dialogue to boot.

The dvd has an option to turn on a Homage Meter, kinda like subtitles but it tells you what films and shows theyβre paying homage to. There were a lot of things that slipped by me. The bit when Pegg and Frost fight and take aim at each other was a Reservoir Dogs reference. Itβs such a fun show, even when Iβm not laughing i just enjoy watching it and itβs definitely a show that rewards repeat viewing, especially regarding the references, youβll notice more things and little details each time. Not so much for me now that seen it at least 20 times over the past 24 years. Btw they didnβt have sex, they just cleaned the flat (it looked tidy plus the hoover was nearby) but obviously they wanted you to think they did it for a moment with the Nine and 1/2 minutes later caption being a reference to the erotic film 9 1/2 weeks, as well as them both smoking.
