Max and Paddy's Road to Nowhere S1 Ep6 REACTION!

This guy is proper nuts.

Max and Paddy's Road to Nowhere S1 Ep6 REACTION!

Comments

All good, could tell you had knowledge of the show. it's been along time since it was on air so that'll be the reason.

Lewis Green

Oh shit I just realised I got those two names mixed up. Ha!

Tone Grumbt

Neil Fitzmaurice played Ray Von and Dave Spikey played Jerry Sinclair. But you are correct in the fact that along with Peter Kay, the all co wrote it.

Lewis Green

There was meant to be a third series of Phoenix Nights but Peter Kay and Neil Fitzmaurice who not only played Jerry Sinclair but was also co writer of the show along with the guy who played Ray Von fell out with each other, would that series have been funny? We will never know but as for Max Paddy Maybe they could have made another series but maybe their ideas were limited, afterall they did two episodes revolved around the same plot.

Tone Grumbt

Max & Paddy did a spoof fitness dvd called ‘The Power of Two!’ Not as funny, but if I recall they did use dildos as weights as part of their exercises 😂 https://youtu.be/8tFqCenYJWg?si=BTCJPHLNERlrfZ-v

Mattoid

Will you do Friday night dinner please

Dylan Wainman

You need to react to the max and paddy outtakes ( gag reel ) its absolutely hilarious 😆

Liam Grayson

Hopefully get to see Car Share at some point!

Ryan

You've replied to the wrong comment and you're not the arbiter on architectural beauty, especially considering you probably work as a plumber or electrician.

Grady Parsons

you don't have to study art to say when it' bad - Angel of the North = Ugly.

Matthew Mosley

lol ironically, just say that in a northern accent, and they'd probably hire you -_-

James West

"Horrid piece of art" = the opinion of someone who hasn't studied art.

Grady Parsons

Hardly "tiresome".

Grady Parsons

So it would still be too complex for you to write?

Grady Parsons

Wired up to the mains. As in he'd plugged them into a socket to electrocute them.

Grady Parsons

I love this line..... "Come on Billy, don't be a hero!!!" Ref the song obviously. 🤣

Matthew Duffy

Peter Kay's live shows are hilarious KB. If you react to those you will love them!! You wana start with Peter Kay - Live at the Top of the Tower!!! Garlic bread?!!!! Hahaha always remember the first time I watched that show. Bunked off school for the day (or as you yanks say "Played hooky" Just in case you needed the translation!! Haha) and spent the day at my mates house and he had a vhs of Top of the Tower and man at times I was laughing so hard I was crying and at points couldn't even catch my breath!! It was/still is comedy gold!! Few British references you may not fully understand but your booms will advise ya if you have any questions!! Please give it a go if you can!! One of the best comedians we've ever had!! Hopefully see that reaction very soon!!! Take care KB, all the best to both Queen and Baby Boomer too!! Much love. Mx

Matthew Duffy

Its the Angel of the North https://g.co/kgs/G6Fsr6F

Mark Jephson

Mr robot. You are right, but also so incredibly wrong. George Best was an alcoholic, but also the most skillful footballer the British Isles have ever produced. Even now. He had incredible ability and won the forerunner to the Ballon d'or and league titles and the European cup. He was the "fifth Beatle" and the first celebrity footballer. As the story goes room service brings him champagne. He's in the room with money spread about the place and Miss World on the bed. The guy asks him "where did it all go wrong".

Yaapsdad

Sad to see this finish, deserved more series, such a great show, thank you for watching this, brilliant 🤩

MarkC

Paddy hav it sound was funny also i think must have been reason but in phoenix nights the motor home was a ford transit in this its a fiat

Tim Salt (Tim Salt Writes)

Enjoyed the Phoenix Nights/Max&Paddy journey. Hadn’t seen them before. Wouldn’t say they’re among my favourites but still pretty good.

Julian T

As a northerner, I love that you enjoyed Phoenix Nights and Max & Paddy so much. I think you should watch Peter Kay’s Car Share with QB one day (I know she’s very busy) and then make sure you watch the Car Share outtakes with Reece Sheersmith afterwards! (The guy who was complaining about his versectomy in an earlier episode of Max & Paddy) I enjoyed your reactions to the Phoenix Nights outtakes on YT. There’s some Max & Paddy outtakes on YT too that you should react to!

JJ M

Best line was “put the gun down billy.. you can have the extra point!”

Jacob Bonner

maybe i'm being cruel but i feel like a child could write most of the dialogue lines for this show

James West

Max & Paddy released a workout DVD after this, I'm not saying KB is looking soft around the middle these days, but he's not exactly a shoe in for a '300' remake

sean chris

I did think I was slightly out with the years I was torn between 70s and 80s I’m 32 so he was before my time but I appreciate the correction and I agree with your comments on him he did seem like a genuinely nice and funnny man and what a player!

Chris

He was still playing in the early '80's, but his peak was late '60's/early '70's. One of the greatest players, from anywhere in the world, of all time, and always seemed like a warm, funny person when he was sober too. A real flawed genius.

James Mulligan

Agree it's the weakest episode but still great. Still preferred Phoenix Nights of the two.

Mackem

His top place he wants to visit when he makes it over here is York, but you best believe I'll be dragging him to tha toon afterwards

Craig McCulloch

Ive seen the pole. But for your humour. Not going out is pure muppetry. Lee mack very quick

Jay Lo

I've only recently realized what the lyrics to 'Do it again' by Steely Dan mean and it's all a tragic circle of addiction.

Joe Thornhill

Please don't watch.

Joe Thornhill

The first 2 shows you want to watch with QB are really just re-watches of Only Fools and Inbetweeners though, right?. Lol.

Joe Thornhill

I replied to your YT comment regarding it - glad you got to see it :)

Phil Robinson

And Gateshead (passing the Angel of the North) and Newcastle City centre (mostly by the Quayside) - Well in this episode.

Phil Robinson

He's seen it. He's seen all the major Gervais stuff.

Phil Robinson

They would both love it - and because we know KB loves... well "stupid" - he's bound to enjoy it. The Christmas episode of Mr Bean is legendary in our household, nearly killed my brother he was laughing so hard.

Phil Robinson

Disagree - it hits a terrible low bar, and anything after that is a bonus. It has its moments later on but there is no way KB is going back to it.

Phil Robinson

Poor finale in my opinion. I liked a lot of the previous episodes but I think they ran out of steam so we end up with this, which frankly was tiresome. This is why Phoenix Nights is superior - it had Dave Spikey and Neil Fitzmaurice bolstering up the writing and that made it more witty. On the plus side, some of the filming locations early on were up in my neck of the woods in Newcastle and Gateshead - so there's that. KB - would love to show you round the place if you ever end up in that area!

Phil Robinson

The Royle family

Dan Wilson

UK Office next!

Jake Wells

I love this series and honestly believe it gets better on every watch!

Will

"Billy, don't be a hero" . Probably a nod to a big pop chart hit by Paper Lace in the UK in 1974 with that line . Then a hit a year later in the U.S. for a duo over there. Googling the line will give more details.

South Coast Rich

Scotch corner too 😁

Rich

I get what your saying about polls, I hate when people get rowdy about the choices or the final pick. I personally back Brassic as the replacement for Max and Paddy, purely because it's based in a similar area with similar accents to the characters from Phoenix Nights

HG

It really doesn't. Season 5 is great and gets progressively worse

Daniel Simpkins

please dont do gavin and stacey...........

Fieryjack

Because it's so universal, I'm absolutely sure that KB has already seen it, but if not, I couldn't possibly agree more. It's a show that the entire family could enjoy!

Fyrealis

You have to now watch the Outtakes😂

William

Although it’s meant to be set around the country, Max and Paddy is all filmed in Bolton. Other than the wide camera shots

Gary Dawson

I think QB would appreciate Some Mr Bean. Bean is universal, even baby boomer would probably sit through it

bdazzer85

It wasn't bleeped out, it was done on purpose for comedic affect, you don't get them so much these days, but pubs used to have bells that they'd ring just before 11pm when they weren't allowed to serve alcohol after... The bell was known as 'last orders' and it was used here coincidentally as he was swearing!... People used to rush to the bar at last orders to grab as many beers as they could lol.

BigChanChan

I agree KB, polls can be toxic and you usually have better taste than the members anyway.

BigChanChan

I agree it gets better but there's zero chance he revisits it.

BigChanChan

The word you couldn't understand is "mains" as in mains electricity. The electrical supply coming from a power station to the house you live in

AndyRobots

A Florida waffle surprise or a FWS is a fry-up by the look, must mean fried with sausages.

emu cat

GET THAT FOCKIN' COOOKER ON

Michael

6:00 the horrid rust bucket you questioned is a piece of 'art' they call 'Angel of the North'. Hidious. 12:40 The DING DING that acted as a bleep is a call for last orders as closing time is approaching in the pub. Perfect comedic timing.

Matthew Mosley

George best was a football player in the 80s regarded as one of the best players ever, had issues with alcohol throughout his career and when his career finished he became a bad alcoholic, which is what contributed to his death

Chris

Gutted this is over already. I think the the queen would like Green Wing as its her type of humour. Got the landlord from plebs in it. Jim and the mother from Friday night dinner. Olivia Coleman and plenty of others you most likely recognise. Keep up the good work you muppet. One love 👊🏻

Ryan Middleton

I know you've put up a poll ... just to say. that BAD EDUCATION is a Jack Whitehall show ... just in case you don't want to be be watching 2 of his shows at the same time (it's the show (and film) that made me (finally) like the guy. Couldn't stand him before.

Matthew Mosley

Please revisit Benidorm as it does get better as the seasons go on

Alexander Grant

He said "Wired up to the mains". It means he hooked them up to the main electrical circuit in the building.

Daryl

The police guy is saying "mains" it's what we say to mean the electric supply haha

Carl White

Mains! Ring Main. Electrical Circuit.

Pee-Wee Stairmaster

Goerge best played for Manchester United but was an alcoholic, killed him in the end

Michael Oliver

Wired up to 'the mains' basically means wired up to the fuse box (electrics)

Mr Matthews

Little chef was a popular service station type cafe innthe 80's and 90's. It's no longer around now. Haven't got a clue what florida waffle surprise is haha

Tim Phillipson

Don't forget max and paddy has an out takes video compilation too

Dave Jones

If you watch Spencer’s 2nd Newcastle vlog you will see I took him to the angel of the north

Showboat

"Get that f**king cooker on"🤣

James Ellison

Thats the angel of the North. It's along the A1 near Newcastle. A true symbol you're in the north.

electricduckpond

Thank you for posting this today . Couldn’t wait . 👌👌
