The king knows my countries history better than I do 😐😂

Sounds a bit like Bum!

His heart will always go on.

The actress who plays the queen is Miranda Richardson who is also a really good serious actress as well as being hilarious in this!

Richard Stokes

I'm no singer but that wasn't bad, King. A bit more raspy than smooth on the "A" of Adder, I suppose.

Joe Thornhill

Classic Partridge..😂

Geoffrey Searby

Best episode 👌

Rob webber

Three is probably the best of the “historical” figures. I think we can all related to the WW1 episodes, seeing as it was a lot more recent, and the ending really hits home.💔

DAN.... DAN.... DAN.....DAN....DAN....DAAAAAN.........DAN................DAN!

Yep, Hugh Laurie's debut, and with the sole exception of the 1988 Comic Relief special he's in every episode from this point on. One of the little joys of Blackadder is how they bring recurring actors back in new roles, and on that front it's a shame that Jim Broadbent - who played the Spanish interpreter Don Speekinglish to Miriam Margolyes's infanta in the first series, and would later play Prince Albert to Miriam's Queen Victoria in the Blackadder Christmas Carol - had to turn down the role of Lord Whiteadder in this episode, so we're denied the full hat-trick of them as a double-act. But Daniel Thorndike's a good stand-in, and given the respective broadcast dates of the shows, I suspect Broadbent's unavailability was due to him playing Slater in To Hull & Back, so at least he chose the more iconic role.

I went to three different primary schools and three different secondary schools: in West Sussex, East Sussex and South East London.

R Lawrence

Whereabouts did you go to school?

Richard M

At the risk of repeating what everyone has already said 😄 each series is better than the one before. (To the point that I’d only ever watch 3&4 for pleasure). Important that you got the full experience though KB; you’ve done it right 👍🏼 Series 3 is good. Series 4 is a work of art/genius. You’re in for a treat 🍻

Tom

Gobblin'! Get it? Sounds a bit RUDE!

David Lyons

Great comedy acting

Paul Liversage

Without doubt the best episode of this series. Percy's line to Lord Whiteadder gets missed about the vow of silence but it's very funny.

Mackem

haha

Craig McCulloch

Series 3 and especially 4 are so much better. 1 is a shocker in my opinion

Chris

Boomer got the singing voice of celine dion 😂

James Ellison

2 and 4 are my favourites. 1 is underrated.

Dean Carter

Yeah right, I went to school in England, I know whether that's true or not. I literally got told off once for reading a book in school. I had to discover reading myself after finishing my schooling and I don't know anyone else that reads so maybe you live in a better part of England I don't know.

R Lawrence

I’m obliged to say speak for yourself, I think most of us had a basic education

Louise Miller

What?!

Dan the man

I think you'll definitely prefer Series 3 and 4 then, as they pretty much drop that type of theatrical acting. Although maybe not completely drop it, but it's toned down.

Jay

I'm glad I'm not the only one.

Jay

Dan! 🤣😂🤣😂

Brian Moran

with Blackadder was always series 3 and 4 for me, first series was poor and the second series I couldn't ever get past the creepy and uncanny resemblance to Peter Sutcliffe

Dave L

Nice 👍 one, cheers

MarkC

the Woman playing QE I, is in Sleepy Hollow as well...she aged well there =P

Industrialist2015ofUk

I wondered if we'd got onto Hugh Laurie being House too.

James MacDonald

its my first time watching along with this series as well, and i have to say i prefer season 1. i had to stop watching halfway 2 episodes from season 2 because i just find the acting too cringy

Dave Jones

Yes it's Hugh Laurie and he's one of the main characters in the last two series, him and Stephen Fry used to be an actual comedy double act and were brilliant.

Mark Jones

She was a reason I had so many odd socks as a teen

Dan the man

As a teen I had such a crush on Queenie... as a 40 yr old man , yeah still got a crush haha

Craig McCulloch

Yes, it was Miriam Margolyes

Lee

Modern sitcoms reference hitler but he's not alive, you can reference past figures without claiming they're alive (although that wolsey one sort of implied he was alive, but English people don't know who any of these people are anyway, I have no idea how you know).

R Lawrence

nice lol

My wife has ear muffs like that. Just she doesn’t wear them on her head.
