Just wanna slap my thoughts down because I've really enjoyed re-watching the show upto this point with Boomer's reaction. I watched RD as a 9/10 year old kid in the mid-late 90's and I had them all on VHS (S3,4 and 6 taped off the TV). I'd just turned 11 when S7 came out and I taped it off the TV to watch back. It definitely didn't have the same rewatch value as the previous 6. Looking back now, I realise I lost a LOT of the jokes to bad VHS audio and being a child. I loved the gag about using Kryten's spare arm, for instance. "With the extra weight he'd never be able to get it up." "We could always take it off if he was going on a date" - that gag sailed far over my 11 year old head. It's really interesting, seeing it with 39 year old eyes and seeing someone come at it with no existing Red Dwarf knowledge.
