Fresh Meat S1 Ep3 REACTION!

Joe Thomas' "Wall" audition is genius!

Fresh Meat S1 Ep3 REACTION!

lol, well you can only give credit to the writers for capturing and factoring that into their portrayal - right?. and me too. clearly there's some "based on real-life experience" influence in this show and script. TBH i really didn't think i'd like this show at first, but it's grown on me as it's gone on, especially after the (latest) episode released here, where the girl got called out and her BF left her. Seems like it has a lot of scope and potential for character development and it flipped that narrative very well! I still retain that universities are broadly a waste of time IRL mind but I can't remember why I cared so much about that point when I originally wrote that comment so meh. Nice episode nice show ;)

James West

And with the uni chicks, yeh I agree on that as well. That blonde girl is kinda likeable sometimes, but she was also sneaky and manipulative in the first episode. Banging that JP guy, pretending it never happened, lying to Kingston and then trying to get him to do her dirty work for her and get rid of JP from the house. I can't stand it when girls do that, trying to play it both ways, trying to have their cake and eat it too. Being a lady when it suits and being a slag when it suits, and hoping guys won't notice or find out.

Oliver

Agree with most of that. Uni does house a load of people who don't really know what they wanna do and are therefore just racking up a load of debt for nothing, only to go into a job they'd have gone into anyway straight from school. You're right. At 18, most people are too young to know what they wanna do. You see it in this episode with the guy changing courses (and I bet he changes again next episode).

Oliver

Haha I just recently watched "The Room" about Tommy Weiso and the drama scenes reminded me of it again. Same cringeyness

Oliver

😅

Jason Scade

How eloquent :)

Karl Rocks

Another one to possibly react to is Sugar Rush (2005) British drama, well worth watching 👍

Duncan

Josie is so fine I would suck the cock of the last person that fucked her just to taste that pussy batter

Dave Jones

Surprised you didn't notice Gemma Chan(The girl in the drama class) I think other than maybe Jack Whitehall she is by far the most famous/successful person in the show. The two of them actually dated for like 6 years too.

SnakeYikes

Yes it is Grumio. It's funny to think we have three actors from three different shows you've reacted to on here. Simon from the Inbetweeners. Jeremy from Peep Show, and Grumio from The Plebs.

ThetaSigmaTheOriginal

My friend actually lives a street over from the house where this show is filmed!

George Long

tldr; she's just ya typical uni going lil' slut m8, plenty of 'em 'bout ya nawm sayin but ha tbh whilst i'm on the topic, there's two sides to the coin; coz let's say that you're a group of lads in the UK looking for a 'good night out', if you'd any brains you'd travel to a nearby city that has a University then just hit up all the spots local to the University dorms etc (and guys do this so, can't just blame the chicks, i guess right!)

James West

lol @ asking what's the deal with the blonde chick at the end...hahah...this might come across as cynical but i bet everyone here will have a story like this and can verify what i'm saying...there's just girls like her in the UK KB...girls who go to University with the intention of partying, getting drunk, sleeping with as many dudes as possible, cheating on their boyfriends back home...etc...the character in this show comes across quite innocent sure, but she's a pretty typical example of the kinda girl who does that IRL tbh lol...there's chicks who do it blatantly and don't care but she's the kinda example of the typical University-going-girl of "oooops I was drunk and slept with a stranger" lol Maybe this is bias and a little off the topic of the show; but in my opinion University is kinda pointless these days unless you want to pursue a specialism of some kind. So for a lot of people, the partying and the freedom and the 'liberty' etc of University is more the allure than the education itself. It always makes me think of something a friend of mine said to me once..."you can do all the shit that people go to University to do anywhere, even here, and it won't cost you £20k+ student debt"....lol Anecdotal as this is perhaps; we also noted that 9/10 of all the people we knew from school who went to University just came home afterwards, and they ended up getting jobs in the local businesses/offices etc, IE their qualifications were basically useless...lol. To this day in fact (I personally work in a very large organization myself in the town I grew up in) and I know a bunch of people who went to University and are junior to me even now (and i'm 32, and so are they, so time isn't the factor!) and I have no University qualifications at all

James West

No way, i completely forgot this programme ever existed. Just been on Youtube and watched a bit of an episode.

Pee-Wee Stairmaster

Oh yeah, I forgot about that. For me, he's the "I HAVE A HEART CONDITION!" guy from Cockneys Vs Zombies.

Joe Thornhill

Yeah, I couldn't remember the exact reason why, so here you go. Straight from the horses mouth. https://youtu.be/BgoHNxwBkN4?t=446

Joe Thornhill

I still struggle to see shales as a professor. To me he will always be Brian from my parents are aliens

Matty

Please please please stop cracking your fingers

dave moorhouse

If you like the Scottish guy - he's the lead in his own show, Gary: Tank Commander, and he's hilarious in that as well (and he wrote it)

Alex West

The line where JP says "I'd like to ask her out again, but if I raped her, I don't think she'd want to go" is a sleeper hit for me, cracks me up every time because it's said so matter of fact

Rach

Grumio/Ryan Sampson is so funny in this haha. The wall man thing is brilliant one of my favourite fresh meat moments. Also JP is funny as ever.

EnglishBlacksmith

I wouldn't say you hated or even didn't like the last episode, you were laughing a lot like Robert Webb character asking if he should grease up his knob again etc and seemed invested in the episode. Oh yeah Rob is semi regular, iirc, he appears a lot in the first season and then every once a while after when they feel like they need the character for whatever plot/joke going forward

Matt

The one who's doing thr professor her name is oregan

Daniel Colton

The guys wife Sara Stewart was in a sitcom called 'Sugar Rush' set in Brighton (which is England's San Francisco) and in one scene one of the cast rang my front doorbell and entered my block of flats, and that's my only connection to British sitcoms, and I don't care how tenuous or boring it is, my front door was famous! 🤣 The sitcom wasn't great though.

Mark Jones

I was seriously disappointed in it and I wasn't the only one... It was hyped for about 6 months in another reaction channel before he watched it and maybe my expectations were too high... A shame as it had so many of my favourite actors in it as well.

BigChanChan

I wasn't going to watch this so thanks for the heads up 🤪

BigChanChan

I can think of tonnes of classic UK TV comedy shows where they got together... Men Behaving Badly and Inbetweeners being two of them.

BigChanChan

it was grummio !!!

Markos

it was hilarious !!!!!!!

Markos

I've heard from Karl Smallwood (media literacy degree and Youtuber) that a writer should never make a "Will they, won't they" situation end up together, because then there's nothing left for the fans to root for or ship. (Or something like that).

Joe Thornhill

God, it really was. How did he move his eyes so smoothly?

Joe Thornhill

Yep. Spaced is RIGHT up their alley 👍 I've watched it so many times, I could probably quote every line of every episode, word for word (if I was watching the visuals at the same time.....my memory ain't what it was)

Dannythedoodle

I like the way you're like "I didn't know there was going to be nudity in this" Oh dear! 🤣

Dannythedoodle

I'm stoned but trying to cook food at the same time and in my head, he did it to make sure I was paying attention 😂

Dannythedoodle

thanks

L M

he's already watched the festival the movie should be on here might need to go back a year

DuGonG

KB's head turn after the buffet heist was the stuff of nightmares

Adam Matthews

I believe drama girl is Jack Whitehall’s ex Gemma Chan

Sam Dilks

(By the way JP's "pants" were pyjamas, I think someone else was wearing pyjamas in that scene as well, it was the morning, hence them eating cereal etc.)

R Lawrence

That was Grumio! The actors name is Ryan Sampson

Sarah Garraway

Being a believable story is as important as the jokes in Fresh Meat so it can't do all the overly wacky surreal ridiculous stuff that you've got used to.....Some of the stuff you suggested last time wouldn't have allowed the characters to develop in a believable way.

R Lawrence

Lol guys remember he's made a chat for specifically tv series suggestions lol, don't think he wants them listed in comments

Daniel Colton

Episode 7 of this season has 5 of the funniest minutes of television I have ever seen - I can't wait for you to get there.

Domlaaa

excellent edit: I recommend checking out the film "The Festival" - its Joe Thomas going to a music festival, has inbetweeners flavours.

L M

You need to start ‘Spaced’ with Simon Pegg and Nick Frost. It’s just about the most condensed fun in 30 minutes anyone can have with their trousers on. You’ll adore it.
