Poll Results and First Weekly Update
Added 2025-08-04 13:37:55 +0000 UTCGood morning, everyone!
It's poll result day, and also the first of the weekly updates! I suppose that's where we'll start.
Results for the 'How often do you like progress update?' polls are in with a narrow win for 'weekly updates'.
I find it interesting that absolutely nobody wanted updates more than once a week. I'm right there with you, I think that would be excessive!
The results, as modified by the polling effects of patronage!
"I like lots of progress updates. More than once a week." - 0
"I like weekly progress updates." - 133
"I like monthly progress updates." - 102
"I am only interested in progress updates if you have something significant to show off, like a progress build or new art." - 43
"I am not interested in progress updates at all, I am only interested in things I can play or read." - 6
The results for the next Play Things chapter are also in. The Dreamer / Tattoo chapter handily wins that poll, though not quite as badly as it looked at first.
"Day 6 - Cow / Tattoo" - 112
"Day 6 - Dreamer / Tattoo" - 234
So that is the chapter I'll be working on this week!
I was pretty sure this would be the result, so last week I put together the more detailed working outline for this chapter. My plan this week is to write about 10,000 words. Assuming that I do the same for the next two weeks, that means I'll have the chapter written in about three weeks. With one week for edits and beta reading, that means I have a tentative release date for the first week of September.
Things may change, but that's the current plan.
I spent a considerable amount of last week freaking out about the itch.io delisting of nsfw content, and I'm still quite stressed about that!
Making nsfw content has always been a risky endeavor, and it feels like it's getting more risky every day. The whole point of doing the "Is Trixie There?" project is to practice going through the process of creating an itch and Steam page with a smaller project, and that is still technically possible, but feels a little like painting the walls while the house is on fire.
The push-back from many places online has been heartening to see, but the policies have not been reversed, and I am only tentatively hopeful that things will improve. There have been a lot of things getting worse lately, and hope is hard to come by these days.
Still, we should not give up. Best of luck to you and yours on the fine Monday morning.

It is good news! I should have mentioned that... still, not being able to make money off of these things means that creating them is much harder!
