Fun with math, and a delay!

Hello wonderful people!

It is I, your friendly neighborhood Squish! I was in the middle of writing the Doctor Shine Special's today, and I checked my wordcount and did a bit of math and I'm in trouble!

I want the Doctor Shine Special's to be relatively expansive, so I've outlined six of them. Three for Choice 1, and three for Choice 2. 

They are:

Choice 1

- don't use either toy and let the timer run down

- let Riley take both

- lick the socket

Choice 2

- try to cheat by running the chamber empty

- let Riley pull you into the cannister with her

- drink the SUGAR cannister because you run out of time

All good fun!

The problem it twofold. First - I have no sense of proportion. I initially planned to have each of these at about 5k each. That would be 30k new words, which is a lot, but technically manageable. I can write 5k words per day if I push.

Heck. I could even have a weekend.

Unfortunately, having now written two of these, they're not 5k words, they're more like 10k words each? 

Also! Canadian Thanksgiving is happening that Friday, and because trains I lose Thursday as well. As you can imagine working on this project, on a train, might raise a number of eyebrows - which I can't do anyway, as I don't have a way to take my work with me.

So my actual output would have to look like this:

So I'd have to write almost 10k words per day, have no weekend, and also not have any time to edit, no time for beta reading, OR I'd have to cut almost half of them, which I don't want to do.

This is a Special. Giving only one extra choice for Day 1 or Day 2 feels unfun, and I benefited enormously from the beta reading process on the last update, and I don't want to skip that. 

So the upshot is, I'm delaying the update. I don't want to, especially not the first one on Patreon, but it's either that or do a particularly bad job.

I am unable to work due to family stuff for a full week. I only get back to my home and computer the following Thursday, so the delay is going to be considerably longer then I'd like. 

TLDR: My tentative revised date for the release of the DOCTOR SHINE SPECIAL UPDATE is Friday, October 27th, and I will keep you updated.
