2024-01-24 17:59:48 +0000 UTCImo the problem with this season is the writing of the new characters, outside of Les/Lesley not one character do you feel anything for nor do they feel like they've a personality or identity. In later seasons Liam and Sam are better written for but again most new characters are badly written and isn't worth sticking around for. As others and yourself have said give the first 3 episodes ago and leave it at the end of season 5 then you can move on to something fresh. I'd suggest making a post where people can suggest shows and maybe watch an episode from a few different ones then if you feel you want to do a season on one then you've a variety to choose from

Each to their own but if you think about it, Albert did more, had more lines, had "During The War" AND that head bob.

But I've never heard, or thought about never getting a reunion between Luke, Leia and Han. So thanks for that insight, King. Though, from what I've heard with the shows, they can't seem to actually expand from the movies. It seems that in the entire Galaxy, only 3 people matter.

2024-01-04 20:55:08 +0000 UTCI've commented this a few times, but I really enjoyed S3 and S4. S4 is my personal favourite which seems to be a hot take. There was so many things I was laughing at waiting for KB's reaction in each episode, but I guess the wit and jokes didn't do it for KB. S3 to S5 is what I'd call the 'great middle section' of Benidorm, and also my favourites. You're still in that old but not too old comedic time and the story is something I became interested in. Compare to S1-S2 where I think I may be too young to get some of the comedy and there wasn't really a larger story to follow (not to say I didn't enjoy the first two seasons). S6 is funny still, and the cast still is strong, but that's where I have to say the changes were a bit much to my taste and I'd consider that the start of the 'modern dry section' of the show. S7 onwards I still enjoyed but I haven't rewatched them since airing. I can still recall many great moments from S6+, but if a fan like myself hasn't rewatched them, then the show probably wouldn't sit well with KB at all. TLDR: I really hope S5 is a good one for you KB! PS: As soon as you mentioned Half Life I immediately saw the connection!

2024-01-04 20:32:43 +0000 UTCI agree that the season wasn't as good as earlier seasons, but I thought this episode was better than previous episodes of the season. I heard that this sets up the next season, which is better. Hopefully that's true. When it comes to star wars, I agree aswell, same with star trek, but there is a mental trick to it. Don't expect it to be as good, and don't compare it to earlier movies. Compare it to movies in general or all scifi movies. I know the story isn't as good as the original, but even the new movies are much better than most non-star wars scifi movies. Also I'm a big fan of half-life, he does look quite similar, but so do so many people. Hopefully half-life 3 will be released one day.

In the sequels they bring back the 3 most adored characters in Star Wars history just to have them killed in the worst ways possible. In top of that, all 3 of them (Luke, Han, Leia) never share a scene together, which is blasphemous. It’s like watching your childhood destroyed in front of your eyes. As for the shows, I liked the first 2 seasons of the Mandalorian. I tried watching Ahsoka and obi wan. Ahsoka assumes the audience has seen all the cartoons which not everyone has, so you don’t know what the hell is going on. Thrawn should be going up against Luke Leia and Han like he did in the books. And obi-wan all anyone wanted to see was Vader and obi wan. All the other characters in the show are not interesting even remotely. I could go on but my blood pressure is already rising thinking about it so I’m ending it here lol.

I love them all but 4 was a rough season due to the new characters not really having the best characterisation. They were fleshed out and personalities changed in 5 onwards but the drama feel does stay till the end now.
