Dog Soldiers isn't a completely serious movie. A couple examples to show this is the tabloid newspaper at the end saying "Werewolves ate my platoon", and then there is the Matrix reference I think you missed with Sarge saying "There is no Spoon" when they find what is left of him in the kitchen.

Outpost is a cracking film. Severely underrated imo. Outpost and Dog Soldiers were my Friday night films of choice. The dvd commentary on DS is legendary.

I do have a small collection of broadswords (replicas) in my storage room.
Even since I was a young kid I have had some sort of fascination with swords that I think was inspired by the He-man movie and the movie, Highlander with Lambert. I suppose I'm all set up if there's an invasion of werewolves coming to attack us. Lol.

I don't believe in the supernatural either. But I still manage to enjoy a good horror movie when there's a good plot. It's like sci-fi, time travel, fantasy (GOT) etc. I'm also very skeptical of the UFO stuff, but one of my favourite movies is Independence Day

I love this film what makes it so great is the things you were laughing at they know a lot of people don't believe in this stuff but those funny bits is the people making it not taking it self to serious

Did you notice Cooper was Father Deegan from the Father Ted. If he could find his way out of Ireland's largest lingerie section he sure as shit could get out of that forest.

They often have an anti-tamper system that someone on foot can easily trigger. It's not all about direct pressure.

that really hurts, because i remember going to see this twice at the cinema and it was the only film i ever saw more than once in a cinema. And i had a training exercise literally a week after in wales and the trees in the forest we worked in were exactly the same as the ones in this film when they were retreating during the first attack, it really put the shits up me, but year 20 years man thats fucking scary

as ex forces myself, I loved this film for the banter and accurate squaddie terminology. Take out the werewolves and put this squad in afghanistan, you have a perfect british squaddie action film.

Cooper survived being lost in Ireland's biggest lingerie section, he should be able take on some werewolves no trouble.

The yellow things are called BFA's (Blank Firing Attachments). Blank rounds can still be dangerous at close range so they dissipate the hot gases and also load the next round on gas loading weapons
