The Football Factory (2004) MOVIE REACTION!

Did I think it was better than Green Street? Watch to find out!

The Football Factory (2004) MOVIE REACTION!

Comments

Danny Dyer has always made me laugh. I'm always laughing AT him though, not with him.

Oliver

taught to hold the baton to the side of the upper arm in a ready stance, taught not to hold over the shoulder as the natural inclination is to swing over and downward rather than from the side (may hit someones head)

Dave L

That request aged well........

Oliver

Another great reaction. For a really good football hooligan film I'd recommend either Cass which unlike most of them in the genre is based on a true story, or the 2009 remake of The Firm.

Peter Latham

Green Street probably has a better storyline, but the characters are what make Football Factory. We got to know a lot of the guys in FF. Whereas in Green Street we only really got to know Pete and Matt. And one's a yank, and the other one was played so badly that it was laughable. Hunnams accent was appalling. Made it cringey. Brits couldn't relate to those characters. But everyone knows a Tommy Johnson, a Rod, a Billy and a Zebedy(theiving cunt). FF I far more relatable for us.

Mike Currie

rise of the footsoldier is a good one, based on the true story of the essex boys murders, and starts with the football hooligan theme

Dave Jones

Green Street is trash

Tom Richardson

KB love his war history

Craig McCulloch

Gold and Sword Beaches, Canadians landed at Juno Beach. 10 Points for knowing it wasn't just Americans at Normandy though.

Daniel Heywood

Not a film but you could try reacting to ‘Danny Dyers real football factories’ which is a documentary he fronts meeting and looking at the history of some of the firms and focuses on the origins of hooligan culture, how it’s evolved etc

James

The accents thing makes total sense. In football factory they’re all their real accents. Whereas Charlie Hunnam is from the North of England and his cockney accent is horrific. His American accent is much better.

James Liosi

Rise of the footsoldier is definitely worth a watch.

David fallows

her 'front bottom'

Craig McCulloch

Yes!

Harry

Completely agree.

Steve Read

I'm surprised KB didn't notice Jamie was also Duke in Layer Cake.

Steve Read

Haha "Fanny" means the other one in the UK lol he's not talking about her ass

Adam Purvis

When you suggested a Halloween movie I was wondering what about Cockneys Vs Zombies? Just an idea

Amanda

We are trained to hold the batton like that in the police so it's ready to strike

Gareth Smart

Would be great if you watch the Firm at some point. A young Gary Oldman is fantastic in that and it’s probably the most authentic of the genre

Ash C

Personally the 1995 film ID beats both of these films.

Daz

They're all shite, haha. And I'm a football fan. But I despise these kind of people.

Wilss

One Jimmy Grimble king boomer should watch if he wants to see some football Robert Carlye stars in it too

Luke Fisher

There are plenty of better British films for sure but there's some funny lines in Danny dyer films, try The Business, dead man running, goodbye Charlie bright.

Phoenix

I love this film. I would say it’s true to life, from my earlier years at Nottingham Forest! Green Street wasn’t realistic IMO. The only thing that they didn’t capture was that back in the day, many hooligans were in white collar and professional jobs such as surveyors, estate agents, sales people etc. Trent Bridge was often like a war zone in the 70’s and 80’s. A Middlesbrough fan called Craig French was tragically killed in the fighting on Trent Bridge one match. That brought national shame on the club for quite some time, unsurprisingly. Thankfully, it calmed down in the 90’s and more women started to come to matches.

Lord Charfield

Based on a book, loosely wrapped in truths known about a firm called "Chelsea Headhunters"

Caine

Three films I’d love to see you react to.. Calibre, Eden Lake and Harry Brown, if you go down a thriller route

Jonroon93

The muppet has seen it loads already.

Phoenix

If you're going down the football violence route then highly recommend rise of the footsoldier.... Don't bother with all of the sequels and prequels as they're awful attempts at squeezing money out of a franchise... But number 1 is fucking brilliant.

Joe Honey

Sorry to mention the same film again but Rise Of The Footsoldier is a must watch, based on a true movie aswell, hope you and the family are all well

Aaron

The best bit was watching boomer on his 2G phone.

Billy Rockets

you should consider watching rise of the footsoldier. very good film and very interesting true story attached

Andrew Sanderson

Definitely recommend the film called Legend. A film about the kray twins.

David Marriott-Hallam

I've seen that years and remember it being decent.

JokerDanny

Great film

Craig Day

Another Nick Love film I quite enjoyed was Goodbye, Charlie Bright, which features some of the cast from this too. Like Football Factory it's not a *great* film, but it's an interesting depiction of a part of working class London.

Charlie

I used to work in south Bermondsey, about half a mile down the road from the Millwall ground. The yuppies are now starting to descend but until fairly recently it was a pretty grim part of London. If I had grown up there, I might have scraps at football too. Anyway, I also think that compared to Green Street this is a better depiction of the mindlessness and emptiness of football hooliganism, and the sort of idiot who gets involved in it; I think I heard somewhere that Billy Bright was loosely based on notorious neo Nazi murderer Charlie Sargent, who had been a football hooligan in the eighties. It's not a great film, but it's probably a relatively honest portrayal of that world. It was accused of glamourising hooliganism by critics who I think didn't get it. Great soundtrack as well.

Charlie

I think British cinema has more to offer to be honest, than films about knobheads

Jason Rusby

Yes that was hilarious lol

Brian Moran

Just so you know King Boomer Danny Dyer was in Phelbs his character died when his head got chop off after he got distracted 🤣😂

Luke Fisher

Just a little fact in the film; the cab driving is played by Jamie Foreman whose Dad is Freddie Foreman who was a well known associate of the Krays. Used to help them dispose of bodies etc

Michael May

Yeah Rockstar is the same one. Fun fact, Kent Paul in GTA series is voiced by Danny Dyer. Also the girl who was with Danny friend is actually the real life sister of the actress who played Tara in The Inbetweeners

Matt

I highly recommend The Business also starring Danny Dyer and also directed by Nick Love who directed this, a great British gangster movie. Also the GTA games are developed in Scotland and Danny Dyer was in Grand Theft Auto Vice City and San Andreas so that's probably why Rockstar Games produced this and it was the first film Rockstar Games produced. Rockstar Games was also co-founded by two British brothers Sam and Dan Houser.

JokerDanny

Seconded

Martyn Dawson

I.D. is the best football hooligan movie :)

Markos

I recommend the rise of the foot soldier movies theres a few out now
