Red Dwarf S4 Ep4 "White Hole" REACTION!

Comments

The Aigburth Arms is a real pub in Liverpool, just off Sefton Park.

Paul Casey

😂👍

Jason Scade

Whelp, I've never heard coins being used to describe the clenching of someone's arsehole.

Joe Thornhill

Whhhhyyyyy do you never play the song at the end!?! It doesn't feel right not singing along 😭I want to sing!!!

BadMoonandStars

haha!!!

Adi Hughes

when he mentioned me playing it my bum went 50p to 5p thinking "shite what key was it in??!!"

Craig McCulloch

Thanks mate, I'd been meaning to learn it for years so when KB mentioned it, it gave me the perfect motivation :)

Adi Hughes

thank you for do the theme ( quite wonderfully ) I hadn't played it since 1999/ 2000

Craig McCulloch

what is it?

Craig McCulloch

A 'white' hole?

Dean Carter

A white hole is a time-reversed black hole – a region of space-time where matter spontaneously appears and explodes outwards, rather than implodes and disappears as with a black hole. White holes are essentially the opposite of black holes, in that they spit out light and matter, rather than trapping it. So far, white holes they are purely hypothetical objects, but astronomers are contemplating how they could form in reality.

Craig McCulloch

I think he would really like Brian Cox's stuff

Craig McCulloch

I'm always watching, thanks for the shout out :) Toasted teacakes (as others have described) are lovely with melted butter if you can find them locally for a youtube reaction, similar to a hot cross bun if you have them in the states, maybe at Lent?

Adi Hughes

So what is it?

Absolutely. (Not the toast though, had enough thanks) Parts of this were quoted for weeks afterwards amongst the geeks in my class back in 1991. Still do it now with one of them 30 years later. "So what is it?"

Phil Robinson

A 'white' hole?

Dean Carter

Smoke me a kipper, I'll be back for breakfast.

John Prescott

My take away from that is, imagine if you knew how to turn lead into gold, you probably couldn't do it in 3 minutes or so, the planning alone would take longer, she probably didn't have enough run time to formulate the plan and enact it to extend what little time she did have.

LyingSecret

Made up science?!! You can definitely play billiards with planets to stop a white hole. FACT.

Billy Rockets

Basically a white hole spews time into the universe so was causing the weird time jumps like when their conversation kept repeating. To fix it they had to plug it up by firing a planet into it, which destroyed the timeline that they were occupying basically meaning the events of this episode never happened.

James Liosi

Fun fact, the guy that played the original kryten from season 2 episode 1, is the voice of the toaster.

James Liosi

I agree, we are far too reliant on energy and communication systems, vulnerable to outside forces over which we have no control. See; The Carrington Event of 1859.

Colin R

One of my favourite episodes this. The relentless, single-minded Talkie Toaster (voiced by the actor who originally played Kryten in the 2nd series), the endless, repeated conversation in the science room - both amused me greatly when I first saw it as a teenager.... and still does! Anyone like any toast?

Stephen Kershaw

Two quality shows in one night, you're spoiling us!

Steven Iceton

If you ever fancy reacting to something a little different I'd advise you react to some shows by Physicist Brian Cox, he does all sorts of stuff about the universe and explains it really well, he's basically our David Attenborough for the universe!

Mark Jones

Smoke me a kipper!

David Williams

Black holes are so powerful that they warp time itself. That isn't science fiction, it is just science. A single minute near the event horizon could be about 700 years on Earth. A white hole is the hypothetical opposite of a black hole. So Red Dwarf went with the idea that if black holes eat time, a white hole would spew time out randomly. Probably nonsense, but a fun hypothetical concept.

UltiNega

The teacakes you had we would generally refer to as 'Tunnocks teacakes' even if they were a different brand. We also have toasted teacake which are basically what you'd call an english muffin but sweet with currants in it - slice them in half , toasted then butter

Craig McCulloch

I knew you'd like this one! Had the feeling you found the last few ep's subpar, so I'm glad this was an exception. I'm thick as a stump so don't feel bad about not getting the science, nevertheless this show will always be funny. Next episode, the introduction to possibly the 1st / 2nd best character in the whole show. Looking forward to that!

Brodie Vickers

Always loved this episode, although I do find it funny Holly knew "absolutely everything" but couldn't come up with a solution for her shortened lifespan! I think pretty much all Dwarf fans here are going to be looking forward to the next episode!

Manly Stump

I am not phised

Tim Salt (Tim Salt Writes)

Those aren't the same teacakes. They are also baked things with fruit in.
