Thanks for those, awesome. Made me laugh hard.
Would recommended John Cleese films Clockwise and a Fish called Wanda. Definite echos of Basil Fawlty in both 🙂

Absotively. 'Alan Partridge fights Tony Maloney' would be a good introduction sketch, it's on youtube.

The clip in Some Mothers Do 'Ave Em where he is on roller-skates and gets out of control is one of the funniest physical comedy scenes I've ever! ♥

I think you'd love Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em KB. Similar to Fawlty Towers as well in which there wasn't many episodes. Just 3 series I think but a classic British sitcom.

If you want to react to comedies from the similar era to this then you should take a look at George & Mildred, it was one of the most popular sitcoms of its time and was sold all around the world.

I like that Boomer just assumes now that any animal he sees in a British TV show is going to come to a grisly end.

Green street was a good movie but football factory is just terrible 😂 I think people are trolling you

Dog Soldiers was the film that was mentioned for Halloween - it's really good.

Blackadder would be a fantastic series to start after this one, keep it up KB 👌

Looking forward to football factory! Blackadder, the Royle Family or The Vicar of Dibley could all be good series to react to. Although the Royle Family is quite niche to British comedy, so could be hit or miss

The supposed fan invented continuity of the final episode is that the health inspector closed the hotel down, hence no more episodes. I quite like that as an explanation.
It's supposedly coming back this year with some follow up, no idea if that will be any good or not though.

I'm hoping it's just an idea that John Cleese is floating and not an actual project.

Personally I think it will be awful if it goes ahead. Connie Booth was also a writer on the show and was probably a big influence on introducing nuance in some of the scripts, or just plain saying when a joke wouldn’t work (a bit like the influence Stephen Merchant had on Gervais in their earlier work).

Blackadder you will love I think, season 1 I don’t rate but the last season is outstanding and the final episode is as good as it gets.

I'm not sure how a rebooted Fawlty Towers could work in 2023. John Cleese would be on form as ever but without Andrew Sachs, Connie Booth and Prunella Scales, it would feel very empty.

Something I always admire about some actor's, is the way that they can play a role from straight to straight up goofy. Ballard Berkeley (The Major) is one of them, saw him in a Peter Cushing adaptation of Hound of the Baskervilles a year or 2 ago. Playing his role completely serious, which was so wild considering I only knew him from Fawlty.

Fawlty towers, an absolute classic. This reminds me of my childhood, watching these episodes with my parents repeatedly.
KB I've probably said this a few times, but trust me you have to stick with fools and horses too. I was watching some of series 6 the other day and it's just brilliant. The 2 Xmas specials at the very end of series 5 (frogs legacy and dates) are absolute classic episodes of OFAH. Can't wait for you to react to them. Also the next 2 episodes of series 5 are really good (the longest night and tea for three)Keep going with fools and horses till the end- you will not regret it!

No idea what Halloween film people were recommending. But I highly recommend ’Stitches’ a horror comedy starring the comedian ‘Ross Nobel’
