Richard Ridings did all that stuff in DK2, but for the first he just did the intros and outros for the levels on the map screen. Something like "Cosyton. A hideous sham of a town where the citizens have no gripes or moans, and even the children are happy and secure."

He's also the English voice for the dad in Peppa Pig.
