I have a reputation of spending the entire day in the bath or a good hour in the shower people don’t like me because the lecci bill

Adam

What queen boomer was on about is people believe the ISS footage is faked using harnesses. CGI and zero G planes. Zero G obviously exist though its simulated like on this episode. But some of the actions of the astronauts in the ISS is a bit shady

Have to admit, in the past I always thought they'd scripted those lines for Karl's grumpy driver in Moscow to read, but I recently found out the guy (who went by the name Uncle Pasha) earned niche internet fame in the 2000s for organising what he called Russian Misery Travel: "[foreign tourists] used to come here in the 90s to see “history in the making,” and there were reasons to believe that, for a change, the Russian part of humanity was smartening up... that’s no longer the case. What can I entice them here with? Realistically, nothing. This place consistently and reliably generates snow, ice, wind, droughts, floods, some bloodletting once in a while, and misery and even more misery." He was every bit as cynical as he seems in this episode, though as a half-Jewish, half-Ukrainian guy a lot of that may have been a semi-outsider's frustration at Russia's inability to ever change for the better. Certainly, his wife Alexandra had troubles with Putin's government and was even branded a foreign agent at one point, prompting Pasha to attend a pro-Navalny rally in 2021 to "overcome my civic apathy." However, sadly it seems Uncle Pasha died at Christmas 2021. For better or worse, he never saw the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, but seven years earlier he wrote of sanctions on Russia that "a nation that sets itself on fire for the fun of it every spring won’t be concerned with your wimpy economic pressure. We feel our best in the middle of a disaster. I confess that even I, not even an ethnic Russian, in a way feel good when things around are dangerously ugly. My BP reverts to normal and heartbeat regains regularity. We are hard-wired for hardship, and if our craving for disaster is not satisfied we make one. I am unable to issue any positive advice on what to do with us, but measures you Westerners propose to cool our aggression assume we are like you. We are not. We thrive on difficulties and confrontations, and your sanctions give us exactly what our warped souls crave." Покойся с миром Uncle Pasha, you mad but honest bastard.

Karl is such a pussy!! But I love him!!

Matt Wells

And it still does the same job

Chay Davenport

Zero gravity has the same effect because the gravity of the earth

Chay Davenport

You should pause more! You missed alot of good bits by talking over it. We don't mind pauses!

CONALL MCLAUGHLIN

Yeh I've heard the Xfm stuff. By well scripted I mean if they filmed it live its one take and spontaneous but I take the point these guys are the kings of improv...

James

Thought I saw a Bo selecter post but nothing here🤔

Dave Martin

Hi. Anyone tell me if this is the last post?

Dave Martin

I listen to their xfm shows all the time, great to have on in the background. Never any less funny no matter how many times you’ve heard it.

Katy

No

Brian Moran

Gotta finish season 2 first

Brian Moran

All of Ricky Gervais' shows are funny. Should definitely watch The Office/Extras...

Simon Hirst

Have you abandoned Benidorm?

JR

If you think that's well scripted you've never heard the radio shows 😂

Brendan

Ricky gervais has actually done a few shows with warwick davies. There was one called "lifes too short" Where warwick plays, basically a version of himself, but as an asshole (on purpose, im sure he's lovely in real life) where he runs a talent agency for other short folks. It's actually a really good show

Matt Camburn

Will you be watching season 3?

Craig Burns

Exactly it’s hilarious people still think it . People will believe anything 🫣

Erica

They can't have happened. NASA admitted they can't get humans past the radiation of outer space 😂😂 so how they managed to do it in the 60s is beyond me

Dale M

Soft play area

James

Being buried alive is my biggest phobia

Mark Parker

If you think the moon landings happened you need to look again at that space craft 😂

Erica

Does anyone know if the phone calls from Ricky and Steve are actually at time of recording or edited in after and they film Karl's end of the call..? It seems quite well scripted for a spontaneous call

James

Saw a video the other day of a Russian man vs a bear, the man won but I think the bear had no teeth/claws and was on drugs. Pretty sad stuff

Caine

When that pesky turtle wants to pop his head out, yah just gotta go 🤷‍♂️

Benji

im with you queen boomer, why did they have to send a dog into space. they are the best.

Isaac Steele

The plane travels in a series of parabolic curves, so it climbs steeply, then levels out and drops back down descending steeply, then repeats that several times, the weightlessness occurs at the top of the curve during the end of the climb as the plane levels out and starts to drop, for one single parabola taking 65 seconds you'd be weightless for about 25 seconds i.e. 20 seconds climb, 25 seconds weightlessness, 20 seconds descend, repeat.

Mark Jones

Extras is also my favourite

Nathan

Unlike the rest of the space chimps, Ham was spared decades of biomedical research, but he did have a lonely existence for many years. He was transferred to The National Zoo in 1963, where he lived alone for 17 years, before finally being sent to the North Carolina Zoo where he could live with other chimps and In 1999, several Russian sources reported that Laika the dog had died when the cabin overheated on the fourth day. In October 2002, Dimitri Malashenkov, one of the scientists behind the Sputnik 2 mission, revealed that Laika had died by the fourth circuit of flight from overheating.

The Moon's a balloon

The moon is an egg

Yeah, Big Al says so.

Z is for Zed

Bullshit Man is a now a well used meme in Britain

Sam Dilks

When you have children and they become toddlers, sitting on the toilet for 30 minutes is luxury 🤣🤣

David fallows

Is that the same guy that said dogs can't look up?

Shoomer1988

Ugh, can't believe I'm subscribed to a moon believer. Has anyone you know ever BEEN there? Why do you think they only send it out at night? A man in the pub who spends a lot of time staring at the sun told me there was an eclipse once and he could see the wires. Wake up people!

Z is for Zed

Sometimes one's true record-time ability to do that, comes truly from an actual situation where you really gotta get the job done fast. Like, expecting a delivery almost immediately but you really gotta go? A million type of scenarios in real life, and you'll soon find out your true record time shitting ability.

Michael

The dog that went to space was called Laika. If you’re gonna grief at least remember the poor dog’s name🤣Remember Laika

Sam Dilks

Actually, insects were the first animals in space - fruitflies. The reason they later sent up dogs and primates is because we're much more closely related to them (chimps of course being or closest relatives), and so however their biology reacted to being out in a spacecraft was a decent guide on how or if it would work for humans. Cruel yes, maybe, but there it is.

Carl-August Wingårdh

I agree with queen on the space thing

Nathan

Got to say an idiot abroad, man down and top gear are my fav reactions at the minute. Some real good variety going on. Something for everyone

Mr Matthews

you need to do a 'come fly with me' reaction, it's a hilarious series of short skits

Tommie Kelman

They get better and better. Next one is hilarious

Chris

Big fan of KB’s attitude era tee shirt collection

Adam Lovatt

I believe the method to acheive zero gravity on a plane is called 'the parabolic maneuver' I don't think the plane goes upside down, more like a 'top hat' element on a roller coaster, the plane climbs steeply then flattens out and this is when zero gravity is achieved, then it dives down and levels out to its orginal crusing alltitude...Someone more educated on the subject may correct me, but It's my understanding as to this is how it's done.

Simon Cross

Why does watching everything you react to so funny 😂 it’s like when you show a mate funny videos and it becomes 2x funnier

Everton FC 🔷◽️🔷

same man. just curious what is everyone poop record? mines 40 seconds from sit down to stand back up

The Everything Guy

this was always one of my least favourite episodes but i'm looking forward to seeing you both enjoy it so much, gonna make it a lot better :)

Peter Reid

Leo Stewart-Smith
