Peep Show S6 Ep2 "The Test" (Un-Cut) REACTION!

Sorry Michael I don't know what the F you're talking about actually. DeSantis aint perfect and he speaks just like another politician which does grate sometimes. But in his favour, he had the most sane policies during the bug, not doing these stupid lockdowns for months on end that basically achieved nothing and destroyed countless businesses. Florida barely locked down. That immediately puts him ahead of most governors in the US, and virtually all our UK politicians, almost none of whom opposed any of that nonsense that was so damaging. Are businesses moving TO states like NY and California, or out of them to places like Florida? Where are people migrating to on net? To Florida and Texas or the mad liberal states? Sensible, rational people vote with their feet. Maybe you're a delusional left liberal that loves people like Newsom, Kamala and the rest. I'm not. Anyway, don't worry about DeSantis anyway, it's clear he's not getting anywhere near the presidency or VP if that's what would trigger you.

Oliver

All presidents are slave to the lobby, if they weren't they wouldn't even get anywhere near selection. It's not far off in UK but we don't have to swear allegiance to a certain Middle East state that yours do, not yet anyway.

emu cat

He considers himself a liberal but in reality he just cares about himself

Chorlton Outlaw

Queen needs to binge watch the last couple series

George

Great to see the king and queen both enjoying peep show!

Kristian Alexander

i remember having a lazer tag birthday party as a kid, they where like the coolest shit ever as a kid. well...I say "as a kid" as if i wouldnt be down for something like a lazer tag stag party while we're all drunk nowadays, would be pretty fun

Matt Camburn

Exactly

Erica

Hahah what a season this is, Peep Shiw is just pure GOLD

Jamie Keira

We're living in the times of social media brainwashing. Russia helped Trump get elected and had an influence on the Brexit vote. Plus many many more people went down the rabbit hole during the pandemic. The scary thing is a lot of people don't realise how dangerous Trump/Tucker/Musk etc are. If the GOP get in next election, the world is fucked.

Ben

YOU DID IT WITH JEFF?!

Nathan

I do think King Boomer would really like 'The Thick of It' or 'Yes Minister'. Both political satires which take the piss out of not just individual politicians or parties, but point out how the whole system and machinery of governance is a bit messed up. Personally I prefer The Thick of It, but I'm realising I've suggested so many shows by Armando Iannucci now that I might be suspected of being him in disguise.

AdamMcAdamface

Next episode is gonna be intense.

James

Good luck with the next episode

Chay Davenport

It’s all a money game now a days

Chay Davenport

Don't think it's a flaw in the writing at all. I've met loads of people who claim to be moralistic but deep down they're just narcissists trying to stand out and be edgy. Likewise with Mark's character, who actually is quite morally conscious, but is just so paranoid and socially awkward that he ends up doing immoral things.

AdamMcAdamface

That’s the reason I don’t have a relationship

Chay Davenport

I still predict this plot will twist again. I think it'll turn out Sophie was lying about the results and told Mark it was his when it was actually Jeremy's or Jeff's, because she wanted to have it with Mark out of the three. That's my prediction, will see if it plays out later on. Edit - I just typed this before KB made the same prediction - yep, I'm with you!

Oliver

You got to remember that kids need teaching peace and love to you

Chay Davenport

I think you are reading way too far into it. He's selfish on a personal level but he's still essentially a amateur musician hippy from the late 90s mid 2000s/

Michael

You don't think? Obviously it focuses on the farming side, but it shows a lot of what its like in the countryside.

Lawrence Peach

Sorry Oliver what the fu*k are you talking about? Ron Desantis? Faculties about him? Have you lost or mind or are you just being ironic/joking

Michael

You get the munchies when you’re pregnant

Chay Davenport

It... really is not a good insight into what life is like in rural england.

Michael

I’m a true muppet ❤️👍

Chay Davenport

I would be so happy if you just put out OFAH, red dwarf and Peep show form here on out. All three my favourite shows lol

Dale M

Boomers, how about your own very governor, Ron DeSantis, in office? Much younger, clearly got his faculties about him. But then again they'd probably eat him alive if he went to Washington, plus who'd replace him in Florida and would it go downhill there?

Oliver

I had that boiler fr. It sucked

Chevy

uk and usa do not have democracy, its 2 wolves and a sheep voting on what to have for lunch

Jed Baker

They are everywhere

David Harman

65f is cold? You're talking to a lot of Brits here, and 65f is a heatwave over here!!! 🤣

Mark Jones

Most narcissists proclaim all kinds of virtues if they think it makes them look good. When ultimately they couldn’t give a flying fuck.

David Harman

That's a good point.

ThetaSigmaTheOriginal

He's anti war, I think because he thinks it's cool. I don't think he really thinks 😂

CONALL MCLAUGHLIN

Not all Americans, and they're not the only ones to elect questionable politicians. Sometimes, the talent pool is so shallow, like the UK at the moment. I dislike both of the two UK main parties almost equally, for much the same reason. Their policies do nothing to help people

ThetaSigmaTheOriginal

I find Jeremy's character confusing sometimes. Does anyone else? Like, he's deeply narcissistic. He generally doesn't give much thought to people suffering or struggling, etc, but he's also anti war, which people tend to be for humanistic reasons. I mean there's some objection based on fiscal reasoning, but I think that's more uncommon. Anyway, probably a flaw in the writing rather than the complex nature of Jeremy's character. But it could be something else

ThetaSigmaTheOriginal

Ash, yeah agreed. I'd say the main difference is that third parties can have an effect (we have had coalitions, something which would be unthinkable in the US), but I'm not for one minute suggesting our political system isn't anything other than completely screwed right now and for a long while.

AdamMcAdamface

And let's not get started on the power of lobbyists!

AdamMcAdamface

@Ash Cross Agreed. We turn our noses up at US politics, yet we keep giving our votes to a terrible Tory government or a terrible Labour government.

Jay

A lot of us (including myself) went on about how season 4 is peak peep show, that I sometimes forget how good a lot of these later episodes were!

AdamMcAdamface

George Carlin summed up his thoughts on voting perfectly. If you've never seen that skit, it's well worth a watch.

Jay

Actually the UK and the US have the same problem: essentially a two-party system with parties that can barely be differentiated in practice, and neither in any case seem to know what ordinary people want.

Ash X

Brit here, so reluctant to comment on US politics, but fuck it. The two-party system in the US seems to have made politics very tribal, so a lot of people will treat it like a sports team, you pick your side and stick with them no matter what. All of the Americans I’ve met (and probably a majority of Americans) are sick of this but are faced with the depressing options of voting for the person they dislike the least, voting for a third party who are never going to have any real influence, or not voting at all. (Yeah we have a similar problem in the UK with the first past the post system, but not quite as bad).

AdamMcAdamface

65°f.... That's off to the beach weather here in Ireland. And I'm not even joking

CONALL MCLAUGHLIN

Because both parties give us shit choices.

Brian Moran

Why do Americans vote for such fucking stupid idiots and arseholes??? I gotta know. The World's gotta know.

Alan

I watched this last week I couldn't wait for your reaction to this episode 😅😅.

Bubbles

Check out Clarkson Farm, you would both love it, a very good insight into what life is like in rural England

Lawrence Peach

Appreciating the desire to avoid politics, but definitely feeling a hearty Fuck You, Bush. You opened up the hell gates.

Kieran

I worked in Trimpers in OC, Maryland

Kiwi Tau

Yes! This is one of my favourite episodes.
