Peep Show S5 Ep4 "Jeremy's Mummy" (Un-Cut) REACTION!

One of the hardest laughs from me you will ever see!  And I highly praise British Television at the end.

Peep Show S5 Ep4 "Jeremy's Mummy" (Un-Cut) REACTION!

Comments

He does have sames cover from season 1, first shown when the cover come back to reveal judas written with meat, and when Mary who goes mad is tucked up in bed before she set to the loony bin . Yes iam sad,

mav

FYI Actress playing Natalie is (Ingrid Oliver), she is married to Richard Osman

mav

No! You have the same blankets on from season 1!

Daniel Heywood

Tessa Wyatt (Jeremy's mum), used to live down the road from me when she was with Richard O'Sullivan (back then they were front page news in the Early 80's,) my ole mum always said not to stare at her because she was famous and let her enjoy the parade that was coming through the village, still looks as beautiful now as she did then!

Ian Staines

That's awful. I hope she got charged for it. Although I know it's extremely difficult when it's female on male.

Andy Waller

I thought exactly the same. 😂😂

Andy Waller

When your laughing hysterically at the end did you say “I’m gonna shit” ? lmao

Super Mega Giga Chad

I immediately thought it was her from robin’s nest when I saw the reaction. Nice to see it confirmed.

John

they should pull their finger out

James

Too fucking true 😂😂

Matt Rumsey

I think they're trying?

Adam

Great reaction, thank you! One of my fave episodes, especially the way Mark is so happy that he has control over Jez.

Ash X

Pisser though isn’t it, cancer? They should find a fucking cure.

C J

Weirdly, Mark was technically correct in what he was saying (the definition of rape specifically relates to someone penetrating another person’s (erm let’s just call them holes) without their consent, so technically it would be considered sexual assault. Of course Mark’s reaction to it suggests complete denial, and one of the moments where Jez and Hans are much more aware of what has just happened.

AdamMcAdamface

Couldn't agree more. We really were spoiled in the UK growing up with the best comedy from both sides of the pond.

AdamMcAdamface

It’s always sunny is the best series out the in my opinion, agree other than that though

Chris

“I’m going to get your name tattooed on my balls !”

Super Mega Giga Chad

Glad you’re enjoying Peep show so much King, I always found British humour more raw and gritting than American seemed way too safe. I do prefer American movies tho but British sitcoms all the way, two and a half men, mash, Seinfeld are the exceptions

Jamie Keira

it's okay to have personal biases, just as long as people don't start trying to blame the comedy.

Peter Reid

Come on you’re missing the point Chris

Erica

a great bit of Karl Pilkington

I was raped by a lady I drank half a bottle of absinthe when in Spain and pasted out in the caravan park and my foster parents found me and told me they found me with a woman riding me whilst I was basically dead.

Chay Davenport

You know I'm a believer in that you find comedy in anything it's all in the context, but I find it hard to laugh at sexual assualt. If it was Mark raping her instead I don't think anyone would be laughing.

Chris C

none of this is shocking to us English people it's just day to day life.

Chay Davenport

we all heard "drop acid at my old mans funeral" king here said stick a tongue up a arse i died at this moment

Chay Davenport

You guys are the kings of Action/Drama/Thrillers etc….but yeah apart from a couple of exceptions the comedy is sterile as fuck and way too safe.

CD DC

hey King just fyi I wasn't super concerned with the audio or quality beforehand but yeah it is much better now!

Nathan

Mummy! Coffee! Fucky hurry uppy!

Nathan

That was nice of you at the end mate, it's genuinely pleasing to me when someone from a different culture and background enjoys some of the same things I cherish. Makes the world feel smaller, which is no bad thing imo.

James

I much prefer UK television comedy, but I always think that US comedy is far better in the cinema and stand up than what we have in the UK. I always hate the argument suggesting Brit comedy is funnier, because the US has some amazing comedians like Mel Brooks, Ben Stiller, Larry David, Richard Pryor, Eddy Murphy, George Carlin, Bill Burr as a few examples. I just think that with a few exceptions (such as Curb Your Enthusiasm), U.S. television networks play comedy far too safe, and treat their audiences like idiots.

Jay

I completely forgot about that scene lol

Matt

Men Behaving Badly (Harry Enfield) first few episodes in that and Gimme Gimme Gimme king boomer would definitely love those types of British shows 😀

Luke Fisher

'Seinfeld' and 'Frasier' are my favourite US sitcoms :) Hilarious stuff. And I really like 'The Dick Van Dyke Show', too. But yeah, a majority of the greatest ones happen to be UK sitcoms.

Mikkel Aarestrup

I was thinking that too!

Will Lynch

Is it just me or does Jeremys mum look like Olivia Coleman in the face a blonde version of her?? 🤣😂

Luke Fisher

Love peep show makes me nostalgic to late 2000s and early 2010s. Just a brilliant show that never gets boring

Everton FC 🔷◽️🔷

Tessa Wyatt who plays Jeremy's mum was in a very popular sitcom when I was a kid back in the 70's/80's called Robin's Nest, I had a bit of a crush on her too! 🤣

Mark Jones

He had the same duvet cover in series 1, we don't tend to use blankets much these days, most people have duvets aka eider downs with a removeable cover on them which can be taken off and washed quite easily in a washing machine.

Mark Jones

I think the traditional major US TV networks were very risk averse when it came to showing British sitcoms, so tended to adapt them to be ‘more appropriate for an American audience’, and yeah, they’re usually awful and completely miss the point. Most of the sitcoms you’ve reacted to were first aired on BBC or Channel 4, who are both public service broadcasters, so they’ve probably got more freedom to take a risk as they’re not beholden to shareholders.

AdamMcAdamface

At work and already can’t wait to get home to watch

Adam Williams

Also think of it as London is the house, Jamaica is the "back-yard" hence "yardies" (afro-carribean slang) a racial term but not a racist term.

R Lawrence

The American pilot for their version of Red Dwarf was similarly awful, I see a pattern emerging lol.

James

Just to explain the gummo joke that mark was so proud of: most people know that zeppo was the fourth marx brother, not many people know that there was a fifth brother called gummo who wasn't in any films, theres two dimbleby brothers on british tv so marks idea of a third brother called gummo dimbleby kind of works as a witty joke because most people would expect him to say zeppo If they knew who the marx brothers were at all.

R Lawrence

Lol Nicholas Lyndhurst is the actor that plays Rodney in OFAH

Joe

A lot of American shows air on British television. However, British shows rarely air on US TV. Instead US networks try to remake our shows for an American audience. A lot of shows you react to have had unsuccessful American pilots / remakes - The Inbetweeners, Friday Night Dinner, Fawlty Towers, Red Dwarf, and many more. They are about to film the fifth attempt at an American Peep Show. The problem is when you remove the British humour from these shows they just lose something. Probably the only really successful adaptation was The Office (which makes for a good case study about the difference between British and American humour - the British Office is a lot darker and subtle than its American counterpart)

Tim Mountford

Not sure if you know this already King Boomer but there is an American remake of Peep Show starring Johny Galecki who plays Mark and it's awful. It's on YouTube if you wanted to watch it....but I wouldn't

Aaron Close

mummyy, coffee, hurry fucky uppy
