Father Ted S3 Ep7 "Night of the Nearly Dead" (Un-Cut) REACTION!
Added 2023-07-13 18:00:05 +0000 UTC
Possibly the weirdest episode of Father Ted we have ever seen!
Had to come back, two years later, just to witness KB's absolute meltdown at the "communication" montage. Oh god I'm dying again. Love it.

By the way, if anyone cares - Pope John Paul II's real first name was Karol. (He was Polish). And no I didn't have to look this up - I went to a Roman Catholic High School in the very early 90s. This fact was drilled into us. Can't recall the rest of his name - but his first name was not "Jim". Unfortunately for poor Ted here.

Can’t really argue with you on that. I haven’t watched it for years , and just vaguely recall Harry Enfield being surprisingly wooden in it. As such, I equate it with the first series of blackadder, and think it would possibly put someone off watching more of it.
Maybe the usual blackadder suggestion of watching the first series after the others could apply to men behaving badly. Or maybe the series with Harry Enfield is much better than I remember

Men Behaving Badly, Game On, Phoenix Nights, I'm Alan Partridge Series 1&2 (bit of a gamble that one tbh lol), 15 Stories High (Sean Lock comedy series), Blackadder 2-4. Red Dwarf first though obviously lol..

I would perhaps controversially argue for Men Behaving Badly from the very start, it's different but sort of lays the foundations for series two onwards, and I think that it's actually pretty underrated. Although I appreciate that I'm one of about five people on earth who likes it.

Yo Bryan, when you did that impression you sounded like Jim Carrey in Liar Liar!! 😂

My suggestions for a new series would be: Series 2-4 of blackadder. Around 18 shows.
The British office, around 14 episodes.
Spaced is good for more of the cornetto trilogy team in their early days, 12 episodes.
Always loved auf wiedersehen pet and never see any reactions - the German and Spain series are some of the best British tv ever.
Phoenix nights, Peter Kay’s comedy, another classic channel 4 comedy - 12 episodes.
Harry Enfield and chums, plus whatever his other one was around the time.
The fast show after Harry Enfield.
Men behaving badly, 2nd series on.
The young ones. 12 episodes. The early days of the bottom duo. Unlike anything you’d have seen before.

Spaced is a lot of fun. The Father Ted writers aren't exactly the same with IT crowd and most of Black books, there's only the one guy who was the bigger self promoter. IMO the funnier of the two writers from this was the guy who also wrote for Brass Eye, and Ted and Ralph off of the Fast Show.

TBF to Boomer, unless you watched the show or atleast the episode, you wouldn't know the characters or the situation which led upto it. You wouldn't know Jen as an IT manager knows so little that she is gullible to believe that a small box was "the internet" and that Moss and Roy would make it up the most ridiculous lie to embarrass her whilst exposing her for knowing nothing infront of everyone.

Yeah I saw that and commented on it at the time, it was a bad clip to react to without prior knowledge of the show.

Only a few days after the last episode was filmed. Really sad!

As this is coming to an end I'd like to recommend the series "spaced". Simon pegg and nick frost...it's almost like a prequel to the Cornetto trilogy. Also features Mark heap (Jim from FND), it has a bunch of star wars references and it's definitely worth a watch.

As FT is coming to close i thought of a few suggestions for you and Queen
Black Books or IT Crowd - Same writer, BB is the next one he made but IT is better and more like FT imo
Spaced - As you watched the Cornetto trilogy, see where it started, a lot of faces you'll recognize
All bout 2-3 series long
Only if you both want of course and we won't see less of Queen as she gets closer to the baby

I'd like to categorically state that I'm not the boxing champion mentioned in the video, I'm another Jay. Although I did get punched once, but didn't like it.

Boomer did a reaction to an IT Crowd clip, and didn't like it at all. Not sure it's something he's ever going to get into.

I'm getting worried that at some point we're going to see a real life King Boomer version of the Monty Python sketch 'the funniest joke in the world'!

The IIT Crowd really is a continuation of Father Ted. It’s very much your wacky humour

I know you watched a short clip and didn't get it, but the IT Crowd has the same writer Graham Linehan and is in many ways Father Ted but as IT guys instead of priests. Hopefully you can give the first episode a try at some point instead of just that short clip with no context.

I'm English and I would've assumed that English people know how to make tea but it turns out that most of them just dip the tea bag in for a few seconds and just drink ever so slightly discoloured sugar-water and call it tea....You need to let it brew.
