the dog episode was so funny , the way he put it in the bin ect is funny asf , purely for how dark and bad it was but how lightly jez takes it , thats why its funny , black/dark comedy at its best , bit like brass eye or JAM , one of the best bits of peep show imo , shame you didn't take it that way , Korea and china on the other hand is not a comedy , that's what evil is... 🤮🤮 , keep up the great reactions!

It is probably one of the most insightful modern British comedy's of our age. The mix of pathos and comedy, the way the jokes are actually about every day realities and the trauma of love and loss. I still don't see the punch lines coming, after all these years!!! So yes, check out 'Mrs. Brown's Boys'!

There’s hardcore Peep Show fans desensitised from watching this a million times who forget that watching your main character eat a dog is fucking WILD and a ballsy thing to write. I think our culture nowadays is even more in love with dogs than when this aired so it’s easy to expect not everyone to be as into this joke.

2023-06-21 19:36:58 +0000 UTCI love Peep Show, I have a very dark sense of humour sometimes, and I'm not a particular animal lover. But that episode, in some ways, did go a little far and I think it really pushed the limits of good taste without producing enough laughs to justify the offence. It was a bit unbalanced. I think there were good elements to it, but it needed to be pulled back a little bit. Showing the dog under the car would have been enough because it showed the extent of the dilemma Jeremy found himself in. But then they kept showing the dog a few times and it didn't carry over into laughs for me. Some humour can be very, very dry, it's just ink black dark. I think that episode, which is not one of my favourites, was really pushing how horny and how selfish Jeremy was but stepped over the line just a little, which threw the episode off a bit. And no, I am not easily offended at all. In fact, I wasn't even offended: I'm giving an honest appraisal about whether the episode converted enough laughter out of the darkness and in my opinion it didn't.
