2023-06-20 13:49:19 +0000 UTCI get what you're saying Jon. But reaction channels are exposing people to new stuff, and doing it in a way that doesn't affect the integrity of original material. Every channel has to frequently pause during a reaction, alter the editing and faff around with the sound and picture. The enjoyment comes from the reaction first and foremost, as I doubt most people would ever watch a completely mashed up episode without it. There's also an argument to be made that music and movie reactors are giving positive exposure of older material to younger generations. While your comment is probably more applicable to unedited Patreon reactions, the fact that you're subbed to this Patreon channel doesn't really give you any moral high ground to criticise.

It's not ideal but seems to be working as a back up option. Also I hear fiverr are good and cheap if you want to outsource it, just what I heard. It looks very frustrating as a process!

Nobody is going to substitute paying to watch the movie in favour of watching it via a reaction vid. If anything, so long as it’s under fair use, its an advert/driver to get people to go watch properly if they haven’t already seen it. Most people watching reactions are doing so because they’ve already seen what’s being reacted to, and want to share that experience or see it again through new eyes.

2023-06-17 12:18:15 +0000 UTCCommenting is hard enough, you never know what particular word makes the comment invisible to everyone else but not to you (which you can check for yourself in a private window after posting), many perfectly acceptable words are on their no-no list that changes from day to day. That's just comments, those appear (or don't) instantly! YouTube videos have similar constantly changing hidden bad word rules and could take Boomer hours to upload before he gets his "naughty boy" message. Then, added onto that there's random copyright strikes, regional restricting and false flags handed out by bots. I don't envy you trying to navigate YouTube policy's dog shit minefield.

Over the last couple of years, I've come to despise YT more and more with their stupid policies. I know KB you're tried to be magnanimous and just be grateful to be on YT, but I maintain that their policies will eventually infuriate even the most reasonable person, because the policies are unreasonable and stupid. You end up having to cut so much out of movies especially that it's not even worth uploading them anymore on YT. And I remember being pissed off at how much you had to cut out of some of the Inbetweeners just to get them up (incidentally, if you have have the raw, original files for those S1/S3 Inbetweeners - the full reaction before you did the edit and cut the bits out for YT - how about uploading them on here for us KB?) On here, I've loved the Benidorm and Peep Show reactions especially.

You can just put a txt over the screen also stating for copyright purposes. Channel 4 UK, sky UK and BBC are known to do this, Peepshow is a known nightmare for copyright and inappropriate things that, get flagged. Also UK viewers can just use a VPN and that will stop all the flags and just view stuff as if they was in the USA.
