2024-12-22 21:10:19 +0000 UTCGenerally a British person refers to the second Boer War when they refer to the 'Boer War', so that's likely the one Granddad was referring to. The first was an embarassment, but I don't think that's why people don't refer to it; I think it's just less well known because it didn't last long before the British decided to just pull out. But the second lasted much longer and had far reaching consequences. A lot of historians actually credit the training reforms that were necessary to achieve victory in the second Boer War with making sure the army was ready to fight in WW1, with its focus on marksmanship and individual combat ruitine as opposed to the line fighting that a lot of other armies were still using. Zulu actually gets a lot of (good natured) flak for overplaying the Welsh involvement in the battle. The movie has the British regiment be a Welsh one with some English soldiers in it, when the reality was that it was an English regiment with some Welsh soldiers in it. Small potatoes really.

I think doing multiple shows is great because then there is something for everyone. Other reactors I am following only focus on 2 series at a time and if you are not enjoying them, then you have to wait months for them to finish. Keep up the good work! Love to you and the Queen.

Just keep doing things the way you want and take their money, they can always leave if not enjoying the content/schedule. For me since getting divorced and having a lot more alone time, I enjoy watching these reactions, it's like watching with a familiar friend and it helps keep me sane! Personally I'm happy with how you upload, your covering all the shows I love, especially with the recent Inclusion of Plebs! And you upload quite regularly to the point I get content every other day. I can't stand bottom, 0 interest in man down or benidorm but I love the other shows, people need to realise you can't have everything.

It's a very odd trait that many feel they have a personal ownership over a reactor, that they can dictate their lives. They seem to be oblivious to the fact that reaction channels are not a Netflix style streaming service, and that Patreon subscriptions are there to support Youtubers that they like, not an open invitation to constantly demand what they want. I find it such an odd reflection on modern entitlement, and lack of awareness of the effort that goes into these channels.

They don't understand money, and they are trying to work out their own value.

I'm a Patron for After work reactions and ETS21 as well and if you were all the same i'd just choose 1 of you! I like the fact you all run your channels differently, I get a good mix of structure with them and bonus surprises with you! I've been able to enjoy my favourites with you all as well as discover new shows that I probably wouldn't have bothered to watch otherwise. I know not everyone will agree with what i've just said but even so, that gives no one the right to dictate to you how you run your channel and what your content should be. We pay to allow you to do your thing, some people think they own it.

When this season wasreleased tgr popularity of the show was extremely rising and comes into its own. Growing up, this was always close to my heart because I'm from Peckham, went too School in Peckham. Moved away for many years and now om back in Peckham. They call us Peckhamites lol BTW Zulu is an outstanding film.
