Only Fools and Horses S2 Ep7 "A Touch of Glass" REACTION!

I finally got to the famous "chandelier" episode.  I had several questions in this reaction to feel free to comment!

Only Fools and Horses S2 Ep7 "A Touch of Glass" REACTION!

Comments

No, they DON'T.

Grady Parsons

The Yulin dog meat festival is still very much a thing. Also Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, North Korea, Indonesia and India still consume dog meat all the time

Sam Dilks

Dukes are lords. Everything i said above is correct.

Joe

It really is expectable.

Grady Parsons

Dukes aren't "lords", so you fucked that one up.

Grady Parsons

You literally have no idea what you're talking about.

Grady Parsons

No, they fucking don't.

Grady Parsons

And still do, illegally.

Grady Parsons

*Charles Windsor and Diana Spencer*

Grady Parsons

I highly doubt that.

Grady Parsons

I agree. But what I mean is, they get no more respect from me than an homeless person on the street. I will never bow to a king, or a homeless person. I'll never call anyone, "your majesty ". It's all make belief. They aren't special, to me . I've no idea why people worship the Royal family

ThetaSigmaTheOriginal

The Chandelier scene by itself (although at the end of an average episode) topped the series that put OFAH in the consciousness of the public, and was highly memorable at the time as no one expected another hitherto unseen chandelier to fall in the background.

Fordy7169

'But some are born more equal than others' , born with silver spoons, etc.

Fordy7169

Yes they can tell, they’re being rudely polite but you’re not picking up on it as a non-Brit

Kieran B

Rodney come home is one of my favourite episode and a royal flush :)

Dale M

The reason this episode is so highly talked of is because it was make-or-break for the future of the show. The BBC didn't give sitcoms much money and they had to use a real chandelier in order for it to look and break accurately. They had one take to film the smashing scene - David Jason and Nicholas Lyndhurst (actors for Del and Rodney respectively) were told that if they laughed or "corpsed" thereby ruining the shot and wasting the rest of the shows budget - they would be fired and the show would have ended there and then. If you look closely you can see them both struggling to keep it together. Classic stuff, overhyped but still a legendary moment.

Infernal Symphony

Great episode

Tim Salt (Tim Salt Writes)

lords and ladies are everywhere in the uk lol well in the countryside in their massive estates

Isaac Steele

Totally agree I think moments like the hand gliding and the cornflakes competition are the best

Lauren Massey

I don't know why silly muppets insist you and other YouTubers watch the chandelier and other big scenes completely out of context. it ruins it for when you actually get to the episode like this..

Luke Barron

I don’t mind the pausing! I was subscribed to City Boys and they just used to talk through the whole thing it drove me crazy

Lauren Massey

when Del boy mentioned the wedding to the baroness he was talking about king Charles and lady Diana's.

Amanda

That chandelier cost about £6000.Lords used to have a lot power along time ago

Mark Parker

That's bollocks it carry on!

NEXUS

This episode was the first episode to get over 1 million views and got it more seasons because of how successful it was. Also the buying title for lords is fake look it up the company that was doing it got in trouble for saying it was real it was fake and was on unofficial documents

Daniel whitehouse

I don’t usually comment on here, But please keep on with only fools and horses

Daniel whitehouse

This is perhaps the most important episode in OFAH history, because it was the first episode to get over ten million viewers, and without the success of this episode (and importantly the repeats of it that were broadcast) there may not have been a third series.

Joshua

I have said that aswell He would love that. Or the monsters live 1

Andrew Bojas

Completely agree!

Steve Read

Yes, that scene is a bit overhyped in my opinion. You are going to absolutely love the development of the characters. I remember your reaction to the episode when Del took a beating to save Rodney from getting hurt and you said that would stay with you as a memorable scene. There will be many more emotional, sad and coming of age moments which elevate this comedy to heights many other comedies fail to reach. It is rare you will find a series which can make you laugh and cry with emotion at they same time but OFAH does it perfectly.

Nick Davis

I think you should do Lee Evans live at Wembley, the best stand-up ever.

Daz

Yuppy Love episode EPIC!

Mr Robot

John Sullivan the creator said the chandelier thing happened in real life, His father worked with the person who made the same mistake granddad made

Mr Robot

Fools & Horses is GOLD!

Mr Robot

I've seen everything you're reviewing to death pause away

Mr Robot

it would of probably been alot funnier if people didnt hype it up

Jake Lol

I hear ya King Muppet most Americans do that accent but far from it. The cockney accent is simple if you know London East End slang words then your got a decent accent. Scouse, Geordie and Essex accent are not as easy for you Yanks. Jocks and Irish you guys are pretty good at. I challange you to speak East End Cockney accent the whole video of the next Only Fools. That would be so funny

Matt Thomas

What do you mean you can’t say that anymore? It’s well known east Asia eat dogs. That’s not offensive, that’s true. So why can’t you talk about it?

Sam Dilks

This is one of the most overrated episodes, one funny scene with a chandelier is all really, theres hundreds of scenes far funnier in later episodes. Others have mentioned above about the whole nobility nonsense but did you know you can actually buy a title, Practically the whole house of Lords is full of people who brought there title in some way or another but I'm actually talking about the average muppet can buy a title of lord for about £50 and it would be official. Next episode is called a Christmas special but it's actually just a normal length episode, the real Christmas specials are over an hour usually and they arrive staring with episode 31. Hopefully you're not watching dvd rips or torrent downloads as you will no doubt be getting the edited versions.

NEXUS

Yes, we still have Lords and Ladies, Barons, etc. I'm not a fan of it myself, but enough people are to keep the status quo going. But as far as I am concerned, we're all born equal, and die equal.

ThetaSigmaTheOriginal

Great reaction. Have a watch of this video, it explains all about nobility. https://youtu.be/Op8fEbxgqxY

Graham Goldberg

i don't understand... why would anyone want to leave??????

Ian Staines

"I bet you've held a few balls in here my lady?"... that line always gives me a funny visual

Jehan Ariyaratnam

You're getting through these pretty quick, series 3 4 and 5 are one step up from 1 and 2, and then after that it just takes it up a huge notch once you get into the post series 5 Xmas specials, series 6 and 7. Maybe they might even travel to your neck of the woods at some point....

Jehan Ariyaratnam

I also remember an interview with the producers and they told Rodney and del not to laugh at the chandelier seen otherwise they would be fired. Only had one shot to film as it cost to much 🤣

David fallows

The Thin Blue Line is also a very underrated one- it's very 90s

Jehan Ariyaratnam

Mind your language would be a great show to react to

connor

We still have lords and ladies, they are generally split into 5 classes of nobility: Dukes, Marquesses, Earls, Viscounts and Barons. Recent creations (all noble titles are created by the monarch by issue of letters patent) have all been Barons (the lowest class of lord) and only applicable for the life of the holder. The last hereditary title was created in 1984 i believe.

Joe

There is nothing wrong with having a Patreon, you shouldn't feel you need to justify yourself. The people complaining are just salty that you can earn money doing something fun.

UltiNega

Please do fawlty towers as your new show😁. Also shows like "some mothers do have them" or "mind your language" our some good oldies.

David fallows

His father didn't want him to do it, because in the true story, it got him and his co-workers fired during the great depression, but after seeing the episode, he saw the funny side. Also, it was nerve wracking for David and Nicholas, because they were only allowed one take.

UltiNega

Never knew this, after all these years.

Pee-Wee Stairmaster

Based on a true story told to John Sullivan by his father.

Jon

Diamonds are for Heather is the special for season 2 yes.

Simon Westerman

One of the all time great episodes 😂
