Friday Night Dinner S2 Christmas Special! (Un-Cut) REACTION!

Comments

Yup. Well done ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

Martyn Dawson

Itโ€™s Rosalind Knight (RIP) who was Mrs Cresswell in the Only Fools and Horses episode, the Jolly Boys Outing ๐Ÿ‘

Ominous

Can anyone name the actor in this episode who also appeared in an episode of Only Fools and Horses? ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿค”

Martyn Dawson

They werent stolen they were integrated to make people transitioning from paganism to Christianity feel more at ease. But slandering Christians is cool now so say what you want, seems to be the only group left on Earth its okay to talk shit about

Jordan D

They are in the UK lol they're in most corner shops

Jordan D

Also, plum literally means the fruit. There's no underlying thing to it.

Grady Parsons

Horrible grandma is one of the closest representations of my maternal grandmother. Horrible grandma is still not as much of a bitch as mine. Also, Christmas is not pagan. Many traditions of Christmas are pagan (like the holly and trees, which are not Christian despite Adam's claims) and its date is pagan (Jesus was likely conceived at Christmas, not born) but the fundamental concept is of Jesus and therefore categorically not pagan.

Grady Parsons

Poppers are definitely not legal.

Grady Parsons

Ok ok, now I've stopped laughing at the poppers debate, you were right that we call them crackers and poppers are, well, poppers are amyl nitrate, a completely legal drug which is inhaled, most commonly before anal sex as it relaxes the sphincter muscles, though they have come (easy now!) in and out (behave!) of fashion as a recreational drug for all across the years.

Mark Jones

Poppers liven up a party more then crackers๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿคฃ

Calum Howieson

if you like stuff with inbetweeners actors, check out "Fresh Meat". it has joe thomas from inbetweeners, robert webb from peep show and jack whitehall.

Thomas Dempsey

Btw itโ€™s Christmas crackers not poppers. Poopers is a drug. also congrats on having a baby

Adam

You should checkout Fresh Meat, it has Joe Thomas from the inbetweeners and is basically a slightly more adult 'Simon from the inbetweeners goes to Uni'

Aaron

Queen is absolutley right.

theOraclelives

christmas specials are actually quite common for UK shows (especially sitcoms). they're usually longer and are part of the previous season. not sure if it's like that in the US as well.

basedpilled

That's a few times now that the muppet has been schooled by Queen B.๐Ÿ˜‚

Adam

Any history pedants, yeah Cromwell didnโ€™t actually ban Christmas, just placed a load of limitations on gatherings and celebrations. ๐Ÿค ๐Ÿค

Adam

The history of Christmas is actually really interesting! Itโ€™s only in the last 200 years that Christmas as we know it was formed (largely through Charles Dickensโ€™ influence). Before then it went through many transformations, from the early Pagan & Roman roots, right up to when Oliver Cromwell banned it because it had basically become an excuse for people to have a massive piss up! (Actually, maybe not much has changed?).

Adam

callie is 100 % correct - you got schooled king b

Craig McCulloch

Talking about doing poppers every Christmas cracked me up!

Adam

xD

Nathan

Well Queen Boomer should get in on Red Dwarf too :D

Wilss

With regards to your end comments, in the UK we've always been gifted with the best U.S. comedy over the years. We've had I love Lucy, Sgt. Bilko, Seinfeld, Larry Sanders Show, Cheers, Golden Girls.. So many. It's a shame that the U.S. was never exposed to much UK and Irish comedy, apart from Monty Python and more recently Ricky Gervais. It doesn't matter who's comedy is better, it's just great to have more variety of comedy. So it's nice that the U.S. is finally getting to check out more of our stuff.

Jay

It would be a much different Christmas Day if someone brought poppers to the party ๐Ÿ˜‚

Lauren Massey

I think it's because Queen Boomer likes watching Father Ted and Friday Night Dinner with King Boomer, so they film and upload around Queen Boomer's schedule. And as we all know, Queen Boomer is really the one that calls the shots in that relationship! ๐Ÿคฃ

Jay

Interesting! Can't say I knew that

Toby Cutler

We call them crackers in the UK (poppers is something different here that also used at parties etc). Crackers will usually contain a paper hat, a cheesy christmas joke and some novelty gift item.

Iain Wallace

King Boomer's Christmas sounds like quite the event. Poppers every year...I bet the turkey is well stuffed!

Kieran

Party poppers and Christmas crackers in the UK ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿ˜…

Luke Fisher

I know Martin's mum in real life is called Rosalind Knight but to me she'll always be Beryl ๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿ˜… from gimmie gimme gimme,..

Bubbles

She is onto something with the pagan thing. I used to be a wiccan and you'd be surprised how many Christian hollidays were in so many words, stolen from paganism ๐Ÿ˜ญ. Halloween (Samhain) being another big one, which is far more dark than you'd think.

Toby Cutler

Spot on about Christmas and pagan traditions. Tree decorations, singing, gift swapping, etc, even the date of it, because apparently Jesus would have been born in spring time. And Christmas was a pagan thing to do with the winter solstice (shortest day of the year).

ThetaSigmaTheOriginal

I like Friday Night Dinner don't get me wrong. But 3 reactions to this and no Red Dwarf inbetween?

Wilss

Great episode its so dry and yep we do crackers or poppers lol ๐Ÿคฃ

Tim Salt (Tim Salt Writes)
