The guy at the bar with the wooden leg is Kryton the robot from Red Dwarf, in all but one series. The first time you meet Kryton he is different and is played by a different actor. You see him as a human a number of times thought the series. He also plays kryptons creator.

The barman is the actor who played 'Paranoia' in the Red Dwarf episode 'Confidence and Paranoia'.

Thanks Patricia I thought so I knew the face just couldn't match the accent because in the movies her voice is very soft

I really enjoy this episode. I think there is a lot of English references though, some UK politics and the Falklands war which was obviously a bigger thing for us then you. It also has my favourite line... cry did you? No quite the opposite actually. What you sucked water up through your eyes? haha

Hhhhm interesting I didn't know there were two actors. I've only seen the later episodes where Kryten is well established. I haven't actually seen the earlier series where they find Kryten, so I'll see it for the first time with KB!

Damn! You beat me to it Oliver👍. You're right, he does play Kryten in Red Dwarf, but not at first. Another actor plays him to begin with, and from what I remember, that Kryten was rubbish. It's not until Llewelyn takes over the role that Kryten becomes brilliant.

Fun fact KB - That "legless" guy on the barstool annoying Richie is played by Robert Llewelyn, who also plays the Kryten robot guy you'll no doubt be coming across soon in your Red Dwarf reactions.

worst episode on the series IMO. hope you eventually get around to watching the live stage shows. They are YouTube friendly and are more unhinged than the TV series 😄

"What regiment was you in then?" "Well the English one of course, what are you suggesting?!!" Haha!!! Yes, Rik!!! One of the greatest Englishman that ever lived!!!
For a good film reaction, I'd suggest 'Scum' (1980) starring Ray Winstone. It is the gritty story of life in a boy's borstal which was an early incarnation of young offenders institutions.
