Only Fools and Horses S2 Ep4 REACTION!

My reaction says it all.  I think this was the most powerful OFAH episode so far!

Only Fools and Horses S2 Ep4 REACTION!

Comments

Del didn't really do a terrible thing, he was looking out for his brother as he knew he would be in danger by continuing to see Irene. He went and spoke to her and made her realise that he would be in danger and he is only a young lad. Then he went and absorbed that danger.

Chris Pearson

This episode is why only fools is the best. Not only so funny, but also very touching in parts between del and Rodney. You can have 2-3 mins of serious and then bang, one gag brings it all back to comedy. The best

Justyn

Porridge was written by Dick Clement and Ian La Frenais. OFAH was written solely by John Sullivan. Sorry for being a Karen!

Richard Woodcock

Del always gives Rodney a hard time but he protects him and cares for him even when he thinks he doesn't need it. He's more of a father to Rodney than a brother.

Sally Waites

In some later episodes you can be laughing one min and crying the next ... very well written . . Same writers of porridge. Great English classic sitcom. .

Dango247

Del must have won the fight as he actually walked away from it

Stephen Giles

LOL just decided to take a drink as Rodney got off the phone and said Mickey Pearce, coke all over the place but so worth it.

Chris C

I can't think of anyone at the time who would have suited the part of Del better than David Jason, or the part of Rodney better than Nicholas Lyndhurst. The casting for this show was pretty much always perfect

I-Love-My-Brick

I love Uncle Albert's line "Couldn't you specialise in bungalows" in series 7. So funny, such a pointless and stupid thing to say

Jehan Ariyaratnam

DON'T FORGET IT GETS BETTER IT GETS BETTER THE FURTHER YOU GET THE LATER SEASONS GET BETTER IT GETS REALLY GOOD LATER ON DON'T FORGET IT GETS BETTAAAAAAA jfc

James

Del raised him he’s his mum dad and Brother all in one he will always put Rodney’s welfare first which is good to see

Mark Parker

I will worry about your health Boomer, the cornflakes competition episode in a later season wil be the death of you lol

Cotton

You do understand Delboy interfered because he was frightened for his brothers life and as everyone said ye he won the fight even O'sullivan the writer stated that a few times afterward

Daryl Hudson

While Only Fools takes a few more episodes before it gets to greatness, some of the episodes in Series 2, such as this one, The Yellow Peril and a Touch of Glass are fantastic. You can tell that John Sullivan is finally starting to perfect the formula in them.

Jay

I love how Rodney is listening so intently when Del Boy starts saying "one day if you've become a bit fed up with having knees in the middle of your legs...", like he thinks Dels going to give him some really good advice - to be fair he did

Jehan Ariyaratnam

Yeah shows how good they are as actors, I think Nic Lyndhurst puts on a northern accent in one of the older sitcoms too, come to think of that David Jason does that too in Open all Hours

Jehan Ariyaratnam

Del definitely won the fight. The other guy made Del throw his jacket in the water. Nothing comes back from that.

Billy Rockets

I think that episode is a good example of Delboy. He makes bad judgement calls, but his hearts in the right place

Lee Organ

He must have won the fight, he cleared a path to allow Rodney to date Irene.

Nick Davis

Only gets better

Craig Day

Great reaction mate. Only fools keeps getting better and better. The queen would love it too. I know she's too busy tough.

Andy Waller

So good to see Nora again!!!

Ian Staines

Here is where we really first see the genius of O'sullivans writing and the actors acting skills, OFAH has that rare quality of not only being a great relatable comedy but it also throws in genuine drama at times that's grounded in reality and just when your choking up a bit you then get slapped in the face with something funny. We also see the true first signs of just how important family is to Delboy and just how he looks after Rodney, he may get things wrong at times but his intentions are always genuine and based on love and loyalty to family. Delboy probably won that fight with Tommy despite his obvious injuries, Delboy despite his size is no lightweight. As for the streets of range reference to the punk morons, it's quite apt although I would say there more final fight charecters.

NEXUS

OFAH, gets stronger and stronger as the Regular characters start coming into it. Only 3 more to the Chandlier Episode. The Chandlier scene never ever stops getting funny. From season 3 it just goes to another level even though its still great up till now. I love the feature films too Like Jollys Boys outing, Miami twice etc.

Charlie Costa

David Jason is still pretty well spoken, but Nicholas Lyndhurst is so posh it's like a completely different person all together lol. Really threw me when I first heard him speak.

Steve Read

Parkhurst is a prison mate on the Isle of Wight

Ian ‘Flinty’ Flintham

that was a good reaction very funny 🤣 once you've watch more of only fools you'll soon get used to the dialogue of the language and pick up the east London lingo.

Bubbles

That's what OFAH does so well.. mixes comedy with emotional moments. It gets much better later on.

Jon

Need more Only fools and horses reactions more frequently king boomer in future please lol 😆

Luke Fisher

From what I remember, series 3 is where the show really takes off and remains consistently great up to the Christmas special episode about the watch, which was the original and brilliant ending to the show years later.

John

The scene where Rodney's telling Del and Grandad about Irene and her convict husband is one of the funniest in series 2.

Jehan Ariyaratnam

Apparently if you look at the shadows of the fight, it's clear del ended up taking both guys down, but came out battered and bruised himself as well. That's why he said he'd cleared the path for Rodney to keep seeing Irene. Interesting what you said about the accents, because it's set in South London and they're supposed to be typical cockneys. Interestingly Nicholas Lyndhurst who plays Rodney sounds really posh in real life (I think he's from Hampshire)but he really pulls off the cockney accent really well. David Jason who plays Del is from North London so it isn't too far off how he speaks in real life, but even he used to consult with the producer Ray Butt (who naturally spoke that way) about whether he was pronouncing things in the right way for the character.

Jehan Ariyaratnam

As the show goes on the characters develop more and more and you get fully involved emotionally with them. There's some tough ones coming up, but John Sullivan's skill at writing makes sure you don't concentrate on the emotional side too much and lose the humour. I look forward to these so much, thank you

Clare Hollylee

The next season gets better and is excellent... Then S4 drops off a bit for a reason I won't mention as to not spoil it and then it really take off in S5 onwards.

BigChanChan
