BOTTOM Season 1 Episode 3 REACTION!
Added 2023-02-22 15:00:05 +0000 UTC
This patreon exclusive reaction is back. RIP Rik Mayall.
I sort of expected you think this episode wasn't as good as the first two episodes because in this episode we get to know them a little more and we learn that they don't like each other but then when it comes to something important they forget thier differences and work together. But at the same time they were great mates in parts.

It makes sense that this was filmed way before the rest of the series. This always felt more like a comedy play than a straight up sitcom episode, and the lads do look very different. Definitely think they got the episode order right. This is a great episode but not the right one to start with. Smells is a perfect first episode.

Ironically Rik got all the birds when he was young, he just did this as a character...

Rik Mayall was also cast as Peeves in the Harry Potter films but they cut him out of the final edit

Rik Mayall was also in an American movie called Drop Dead Fred. I loved it when I was a kid. Haven't watched it in a long time. I've no idea how it's aged or if it's your particular humour. It's similar to Bottom, but he plays an imaginary friend

Everyone is right, this is by far the most boring/worst episode of the show, it gets better especially in the second season, more crude, violent etc

Just looked it up…the pilot was filmed 1 year before they filmed the series. Although there is a couple of funny moments, this episode is my least favourite. So glad they fine-tuned things.

Throughout the seasons, there's one or two episodes that are on par with this one but for the most part, the vast majority of episodes are at least as good as the first two episodes.

No you're 100% correct, you can tell how much early as they look really young compared to the rest of the series

Probably one of the worst episode, not to much going on in this one. They can't all be violently funny!

This episode was actually the pilot, and was filmed way in advance of the rest of the series. This episode is a bit flat compared to the rest of the series. If I remember correctly, they purposely went with a stronger episode to start the series with. But I might’ve remembered that wrong.
