The show is not remotely rude or crass, it's just well written and relatable family entertainment. It's a shame you won't understand around 60% of the banter and references due to being a American muppet, if you wasn't you would find the show even funnier, still you'll have pkenty to enjoy as there's universal comedy written in the episodes. Shows starts in the 80's and continues to the relevant time of the moment it was released. UK was so grey and miserable back then. Del called the waiter a Bandit, as in arse bandit, 66 was world cup win. Del loves to speak particular words from foreign countries but they never make sense to the situations he's using them in, it's a ongoing joke throughout the show as is his player talk with the girls or whatever the situation calls for, he's not Jay from the inbetweeners level ballshit but does tell the odd porkie pie (lie). Get some vitamin C inside you and sweat that virus out of your system

It's so awesome to see it still finding new audiences 40 years after it was made.
