Only Fools and Horses (S1 EP1) REACTION!!!

Comments

My all time favorite series. Would love to see Open All Hours appear.

Justyn

Wrong theme tune. Still hilarious though

gbasource

Millwall is supposed to be a shit football team, supposedly. That's what I was told, since I don't care about football at all.

Grady Parsons

Fawlty Towers definitely isn't the most popular. The claim Delboy is comes from a 2004 poll, something 20 years ago and before the Inbetweeners and many other programmes came out.

Grady Parsons

I don't think anyone owned one back then.

Grady Parsons

It's a Reliant Regal. Even if it wasn't, it would be a "Reliant Robin".

Grady Parsons

It's "Reliant Robin" and it isn't that model. It's what the other guy said.

Grady Parsons

After OFaH, you may be interested in Rock and Chips. It's a prequel to Only Fools, and stars James Buckley as Del. Its about their mother, Joan.

B1G _ B4D _ J0HN

Close. Reliant Regal. Common misconception. Like Big Ben being the bell, not the tower.

Joe Thornhill

I was gonna comment on James Buckly playing Del boy.

Mammy Belle

I'm hyped that you have reacted to Only fools and horses.. my favourite of all time . and im happy you've done faulty Towers.

Mammy Belle

The van is a Robin Reliant :)

Rebecca Musson

John Sullivan was a genius. Not sure if anyone has commented but after OFAH, you may be interested to watch Rock and Chips, the prequel. Starring James Buckley (what a muppet!)

Stephen Giles

Millwall won the FA Cup in 1936 winning 7-0 against Gateshead. Probably their biggest and most recent cup win.

Chris C

💩

Sorry not sorry

the greatest British show of all time the best seasons are from like.. season 5 ish, please stick with this show its great :)

Jake Lol

Lots of episodes mate, take your time with these, they're not about shock comedy (mostly!) or bad language, it's feel good humour that over time deals when the characters stories grow, becomes emotional in different ways.

Adi Hughes

I think it’s a common theme where sitcoms generally need a few episodes to really settle down. When I go back and watch early peep show or even this, it s quite apparent they haven’t aged too well. Only fools is brilliant but I think the early and really late episodes are weakest.

Daniel Broomhall

Brian has said Still game wasn't for him so dont think it will happen mate

Craig McCulloch

Dont watch then, i find some other shows he watches poor so dont watch,

Aidan McGarrigle

He has done the faulty towers one.

Matthew Pike

The GOAT of comedies. So happy you're on this. Also hope you carry on with Bo Selecta and pick up again on Still Game

Chris Silverthorne

sorry but i cant find this show funny, a bit overhyped tbh but love the rest of your reactions :)

Fieryjack

You always giving great reactions

Donna Mcknight

Don't know if it'll be up your street maybe watch a couple of clips first but I think Keeping Up Appearances will be another good one to react to I love it another great comedy to watch once you have got through the ones you are on

Donna Mcknight

Please watch this every week regularly on a said day where possible and also Peepshow every week, either one of more episode would be great, Only fools get really good once you know all the charecters and the actors find there way, around series 2 to 3 onwards, the banter if superbly written, plenty of slang you won't understand sadly as your not English and the references will go over your head alot but what won't is the genuine humour, its not a rude adult show. These boys are your down to earth working men, that do what they need to to survive and get by in life and family is everything to them. Sadly most episodes are heavily edited on streaming services and tv/dvds nowadays, so alot of the jokes are cut out.Rising Damp is another old show that unbelievably funny and has excellent banter and charecters. If you do both of these shows ill continue supporting the channel Boomer. I personally think using a Go pro to record reactions is working against you when it comes to editing time also, the files end up to large and take ages uploading and longer if converted to smaller files.

NEXUS

There are still plenty of council estates there that haven't yet been overrun by yuppies and faux bohemians, but like the rest of east and southeast London it's rapidly gentrifying. Time Out called it "London's coolest neighbourhood" in 2019.

Charlie

Also, there's an episode of Fawlty Towers called 'The Germans'.... and I can't wait to see you react to it one day, seriously, you'll completely lose it!!!

Mark Jones

When I first watched this as a 17 year old all those years ago, never did I imgine that 42 years later I'd be watching an American chap who hadn't been born yet, watching it on a device and platform that was yet to be invented!

Simon Cross

I was 11 when this episode was first broadcast, we still only had 3 TV channels then, a lot of households still only had one TV and shows like this were watched by the whole family, I was the youngest in a family of 7 and we'd all watch this together, this is probably the first time I've watched this episode since then, everyone loved this show, the young and the old alike, I've never seen anyone react to full episodes before, this will be a fun journey! The van is a Reliant Regal 3 wheeler, there's a hilarious episode of TopGear where Jeremey drives the car version and keeps rolling it around corners! Actually talking of Clarkson, I started watching the second series of his show 'Clarkson's Farm' today, as the name suggests, he owns and runs his own farm, with hilarious consequences!!!

Mark Jones

And yeah, nobody carries briefcases any more. Thats why having Will in Inbetweeners carry one was such an excellent piece of writing in my opinion. Posh boy from private school, glasses - lots of folk wear glasses, speaks proper - lots of folk speak proper, give him something that people don't have these days.

Ryan Lynch

Look at those eyes... King Boomer definitely smokes muppet fur...

Ryan Lynch

Yo, puff some herb, bro 😊

danny gibson

Please continue this you will love it

Andrew Bojas

Thank you king boomer for this upload I also look forward to more of this and benidorm upload but no rush take your time my great boomer

Des creggan

Yeah, cos Peckham is a well select place to live nowadays lol.

Rob Walters

Brilliant reaction my friend (ooh fwiend) seriously get some rest mate, and also the three wheeled van, aka shit heap, is all part of the silliness of only fools and horses, love it!

Fozzie Bear

Yessss

Craig Day

I wont let him lol

Craig McCulloch

Great that you're starting this. If your intention is to go through each episode, make sure you don't miss the Christmas specials in between.

Joshua

Hope you can get some rest man. Mind yourself.

Luke Delaney

in the sun sun sun *ahem*

Craig McCulloch

Bud make sure you take time off if needed, nothing worse than burn out

Peter O'Hanraha-hanrahan

The van is called a robin reliant, it was a 3 wheeled van. Was made in the 70s, didn't stay in production that long because it was crap, but was popular with people who only had motorbike licences, as they could drive it because it was classed as a motorcycle as it only had 3 wheels

paul wylie

King Boomer only has series 1 and I cant speak for him but I think its his intention to go episode by episode - asking to jump to xyz series is fruitless atm. Also he likes mixing stuff up so there is content everyone will like. He already has a bunch of shows he and Queen B are doing so just be patient for your next reaction you want. If he chooses to do it the next show he reacts to could be ' fun fun fun'

Craig McCulloch

With regards to the time setting, the series was set during the period in which it was made, but Britain at the time was in the throes of a pretty lengthy period of economic strife and was probably a bit behind the times and wasn't an especially nice place, which is probably why it still looked like the seventies; London wasn't the hypergentrified "global city" it is today, it was actually quite seedy and run down, especially the part in which OFAH was set. I suppose that setting puts the whole show into context, it's about poor people trying to navigate Thatcher's Britain. It's why Britain fell in love with Americana in the eighties and people started watching Dallas and the NFL when they came to TV here, America was glamorous and exciting and contemporary, and Britain was stuck in the past.

Charlie

HERE WE GO. The start of the best journey youll ever make

makadeni123

Love to see you react to all of fawlty towers as well. Its a classic 😁

David fallows

You're right when you say you think it gets better. It does with every episode. And the happy ending after 22 years is literally incredible.

Andy Waller

Not suprised about yt bbc is really fast on getting stuff taken down

Tim Salt (Tim Salt Writes)

It gets lots better, you watch goodnight sweetheart Aswell, if you like war jokes

Michael Oliver

Please watch every episode in order including all the specials. You'll love it. Queen needs to be involved aswell if possible. She'll also love it.

Andy Waller

Series 1 never took off with popularity, it was due to be axed, but reruns a year later(1982) made it popular, series 1 has its funny moments! This episode is great for setting the character arcs. I wish though that grandad(Leonard pearce) was around a bit longer, bless his soul.

Ian Staines

Ohhhh I haven't watched this in ages, nice one King!

James

Luvly jubly!!! My favourite of all time, grew up watching this through the years! David jason is an absolute legend!

Ian Staines

I agree wholeheartedly. As much as I love your reactions, take some time out if you need it.

Lee Organ

It’s a great show. It gets better and better. You will get to see more characters along the way. Everyone of them has their own characteristics.

Graham Goldberg

Once this show gets going it's an absolute classic. It ran from 1981-2003 and has a great storyline along the way as well laughs as always

Jehan Ariyaratnam

This show gets stronger and stronger and peaks at series 6. But even series 7 is good. The later special episodes are iconic. I'm really pleased I get to watch them all over again with you.

Steve Read

What Rodney said was that when Del bought him short trousers to wear at school he was "growing hairs and things"

Jehan Ariyaratnam

Yeah, definitely don't skip S1. As David said, it's important detail and character building that you need going forward.

Steve Read

Nobody owns one now unless they are a 'briefcase wanker'.

Peter Andrews

S1 is weaker but still valuable in understanding the character development... There's also loads of references in future series of important points in their life and plot development from the first series so in my opinion, even though it takes a little while to get going, it's still essential that it's watched from the beginning... Not doing so will be confusing when watching some of the scene's that reference back to S1 in future seasons. There's also some very memorable scenes still in S1.

BigChanChan

Do feel free to take a week off if you (both) need it. No need to drive yourselves into the ground :) Also, maybe finish some of the shows you've already started on - just, again, to not wear yourselves out.

Mikkel Aarestrup

skip series 1 go straight to series 2

brownchopper

Omg I’m so happy you started this!!! Trust me, stick with it! The first series is a little slow but not only is it the funniest sitcom out there, but it has the best characters and the best story! You’ll grow to love them all, and to love the series!

Lee Organ

Yaaas 🙌 some of the references may be dated nowadays but the heart and soul of the programme is there forever
