Monty Python's LIFE OF BRIAN MOVIE REACTION!
Added 2023-02-10 15:00:08 +0000 UTC
There is a 6 minute portion of this reaction where my video file was "corrupted" and I wasn't able to show my face. The audio of that portion on my end is still there, but I apologize for my Go Pro not being able to show that "corrupted" portion. I really hope this doesn't happen again in the future. Other than that, this movie was bonkers and I loved it!
The thing with the spaceship in this was them taking the piss out of the theory that the lights in the sky at Jesus's crucifixion were UFO's

I would say 'Holy Grail' is even more wacky than this one. Which is why I prefer it.

Yeah I agree... Any classic should be left well alone... It's very rare that it can improved upon and there's always a risk that they will spoil the legacy.

As far as I know, the BBC haven't requested the remake so John Cleese must own the rights and he's working with Rob Reiner's Castle Rock Entertainment to create Fawlty Towers 2...
John was asked if it would be with the BBC again and he said no because he wouldn't get the freedom...
I think they are also planning to have the hotel in the Caribbean this time.

Holy Grail is the better film imo but it's good that you watched this one first.

Woke or not they should just leave off the modern remakes. That goes for any great show of yesteryear.

BBC are trying to do a remake of it but he said no because they will just make it 'Woke'

Great reaction, I love this movie so much, and everything else they did, can't wait for the Holy Grail reaction. It angered the church at the time who protested about the film, actually Stewart Lee who you've also been enjoying wrote a stage show called 'Jerry Springer the Opera' which was also about Jesus and he had massive protests from religious groups, they even attempted to have him charged for blasphemy, the show was televised and became the most complained about tv show ever.

Please, please react to Fawlty Towers. John Cleese plays an uptight hotellier and his meltdowns are hilarious.

The shoe/gourd bit is my favourite, some people don't get that it's a parody of how different people can tailor religions to completely different stories, teachings or purposes.
The guy at the end of that bit is Spike Milligan, you would probably love his stuff (including his books like "Hitler, My part in his downfall"), he was one quarter of The Goons, who were an inspiration to Monty Python and many other comedians, as well as our own new King (who sent a message when Spike was given an award, Spikes response was "grovelling bastard" lmao).
He was supposed to be in the movie more than one scene but he buggered off back home after that scene lol
Brian is still a very naughty boy though !
At 1 hr 10 mins in, that's George Harrison of The Beatles that he introduces him to ("The gentleman who's letting us have the mount on Sunday), George actually funded the whole movie when the original studio dropped out.
There was a big outcry when this movie first came out, both in the UK and in the US. You should watch this interview where Malcolm Muggeridge (mouthpiece of the time) and the Bishop of Southwark (at the time) had a debate about the movie, not really though, they just wanted to bad mouth it in John Cleese and Michael Palin's faces :

If you thought this film was crazy, wait til you watch The Holy Grail. Then you'll see how normal this film was 😳🤣. Suggest you watch Airplane, if you haven't already 👍

Yes King boomer, one of my Favs this one. Bigus Dickus gets me every time. You know when they filmed that scene they couldn't keep it together. You can notice some smirking going on with Cesar.
