New animation Progress

Well, here is what i have made so far for my recent animation that will be calling "JOYRIDER" , It is about a reckless robot who loves to joyride around cities. In this case he is having a lot of fun with his homemade bike. At the moment, i have not figured out what will be chasing him (It could be a helicopter, spaceship or even police cars.) Let me know if you guys have any ideas. I am pretty happy with the animation especially the After effects compositing which consisted of abit of rain, colour grading and some other extra effects that i will be covering in my breakdown video once it is done.

I have a new way when making my animations with a main subject, which is LINKING. So I basically make a new blender file with the main character zeroed out, with all the rigs and materials and whatever your character has (all in one collection). In the main file where all the magic happens (where all the rendering and all of the animation is done) I would link (simply by pressing file: link) and locate over to the blender file and click on the collection In which your character is in. To edit the main subject you need to go to Object: relations: make library override.

This allows you to animate the main subject. However you can't edit it while it is in the main file but you can edit it in the other character blend file separately. You might be asking, how is this useful? Well when you are making multiple shots with the same character in them, you need a file in which changes all of them. So when you want to change the character, instead of changing them individually in each shot, you can change one and it will change throughout all the shots.

IMPORTANT TIP: as you may know I have the robot and the bike, now before, i linked in the robot and bike separately, so i would have had to parent the robot to the bike in EVERY shot which is not good. So make sure you link in the robot and bike all at once so you don't have the hassle that i had.

I spent so much time on rigging the bike, like adding constraints in order to get it to work correctly. I used ik constraints to get a mechanical movement to where the feet are placed so when the bike tilts to one side, it all rotates in a cool way.

I will be sure to give more updates on the animation.

Have a nice day and thank you for the support.
