Hello everyone,
I have some quick news. All of the renders for Chapter 10 are now complete. This is a major milestone because rendering is hands down the most time-consuming part of visual novel development.
This chapter has somehow grown larger than I ever intended. In terms of the number of renders, it's about 25% larger than Chapter 9. There's some branching involved, which multiplies the amount of work needed.
So, what's next? I'm currently in the writing stage. It may sound strange, but that's my process. I have an idea of what will happen in each scene of the chapter. Then, I pose and render what actually happens. While doing so, I write dialogue in my mind. Since posing and rendering is a slow process, it gives me time and freedom to come up with new ideas.
Only at the end do I put it all "on paper." I thought it was a crazy way of doing things, but I was told that a large percentage of developers actually work similarly.
So that's where we are now. I spend my time writing dialogues and monologues. To be honest, I'm not a fast writer. But I'm soldiering through. :) Thank you for your patience.
