I really appreciated this. It pointed out something I totally missed in MGS5 that Kojima had a perfect plot and character he could have done a ton more with and instead it more or less gets ignored. It's one of numerous reasons the game feels overall unsatisfying because you're not playing as Big Boss, so none of his character development from MGS3 and Peace Walker carry over, and since the new guy who becomes Venom gets no character development, he's wasted as well. So all you have left is Venom doing missions and giving people balloon rides until Skull Face Monologues at him(Skull Face is also wasted as a character).
