There Are FIVE Lights!
Added 2022-10-04 18:37:24 +0000 UTCI am a huge Star Trek the Next Generation fan. It was "my" Trek. Also, Jean-Luc Picard is easily the sexiest captain ever (sorry, Kirk lovers). In the "Chain of Command" episode, Picard is captured and tormented by a Cardassian named Madred who wants him to say there are 5 lights in the room when there are only 4 in order to break his will. I've often wondered in scenes like these where someone is being tormented with pain why the captors don't try tickling first. I have a feeling after 15 solid minutes of tickles by wicked Cardassian robots Picard would've said there were 50 lights in the room. So much simpler!
Fun fact: when I was interviewed for the Tickled documentary in Brooklyn (I wound up on the cutting room floor, unfortunately) I brought a bunch of my original pencil drawings for them to film. David Farrier was so taken with my pencils for "There Are 5 Lights" that I gifted the drawing to him. Apparently he's a big Trek fan too.
