UPDATE INTERLUDE: Back in 2008 I had been creating regular tickling art for about a year when I was asked to create a piece for the tklfrat, a popular gathering site for fans of m/m tickling. I had a lot to think about with this one: it had to incorporate both foot and body tickling, I wanted to have an athletic sock in there for the whole frat/jock angle and I wanted to have a group of diverse guys in order to represent everyone in the male tickling community. This series of 5 images demonstrates my process for creating a tickling illustration: it starts with rough pencils which then get tightened up. In the early stages, there may be changes made. You can see I added a backwards cap to the guy in the background and I completely changed the face of the guy on the lower left. Next there is further cleaning up and adjusting made when the drawing is scanned in and converted to a digital image. Flat color is added, followed by taking those flat colors and shading them, as well as adding effects like the gradient in the background and the wood grain in the stocks. Finally, the banner at the top and the text finished the piece. This image is still being used as their main landing page and as their banner!
