Quick Update + Minor Poll

Hello everyone,

Currently planning on releasing a new build of the game tomorrow night. But I will also be very transparent for the sake of honesty - I simply have not accomplished nearly as much 'deep focus' work relating to FMG this summer as desired. This is a little awkward because a surprising number of new people have recently joined up (very grateful for you all!) but the update will be relatively small given the amount of time that has passed since the last one.

That said, the update has a lot of new dialogues/descriptions for the updated Comparison activity, along with 2 new pieces of Oriander art that are attached to this. There are also some other minor changes made here and there as well.

Originally I really wanted to implement a system where you could choose to work half/full shifts, set a specific amount of time for the streaming jobs, and teach a variable number of yoga classes for the yoga instruction job.

And I did spend a large chunk of time coming up with means to implement these ideas, but I realized that I was frankly adding another unwieldly, inelegant system (coding wise) on top of a bunch of already unoptimized spaghetti code. With some brute forcing it could have worked, but it would be further entrenching a lot of existing issues.

This process did result in some ideas for revamping the entire activity system - but it would require reworking the code base related to the activities and their stats from the ground up, along with recreating the activity selection processes. In this reworked system, the stats in the 'objects' for each activity (such as their experience gain) would be normalized for 1 minute, then when an activity is selected, the number of minutes the activity is being performed for would be selected then. This would have the benefit of making it rather easy to allow the player to control how long the characters perform any activity. For example, you could simply spend all of a high level character's stamina on one singular epic workout instead of multiple.

However, since this would be such a massive revamp, I've decided that it would be best implemented in a 'Time' themed update, along with some other time related ideas (like at time machine invention!)

A potentially important note for everyone who recently joined this past week: due to the way this Patreon campaign is setup, it will charge you again on the first of September. If you are okay with that, then thanks very much for your support! But if you are not and need to cancel before then, I totally understand! And on that note, if you feel that this update will be too small to warrant a September 1 pledge, that's understandable too. As long as you processed a pledge within August, you should receive a DM with the next build when it releases tonight.

Below is a quick poll on something I'm curious about. It might not change much about the game, but it should help me better understand what your play patterns are like, and where resources should be dedicated to. Basically, if a majority of players are beefing up the male character beyond his normal limits, then there should be more in-depth descriptions and possibly art about that. But if people generally aren't, then those words and the time making them would be better spent on something that everyone enjoys.

I think that making more art for the male character and other drama scenes increase interest of the game.

Personally I like to keep the both of them roughly equal. What can I say a big lady needs a big man to keep her satisfied.

I like to increase his strength beyond the normal limits and have him slowly drained until skinny. I like doing this the other way around too.
